Did anyone manage to watch the premier of this amazing show last night? If so, did you squeel like a little girl as I did when whatshisname started pulling out all those nifty little steampunk-like devices such as the two-way video phone and the eleciricity-firing ray gun? Or when you managed to get a few close-up shots of his computer?
The show itself is far from steampunk, but these little tidbits were amazing, no?

I was just coming in to make thread about this! I watched it.
While the whole thing isn't Steampunk, there are some definitely asthetically-steampunk objects. In particular are the Farnsworth (the video communicator that looks like it should be an antique tin), the gun made by Tesla (a lovely example of the electrical zappy-gun that we mod nerf guns into), and his type writer style computer keyboard. The harness system to travel in the warehouse was also fantastic.
The underground warehouse made me squee like a little girl, I admit it. And the wish-granting teakettle did, too.

I found the tea kettle funny. If it can only grant wishes that are feasable, then what can it grant? If you wish for a ferret, how do you know if it actually granted your wish or simply gave you the default prize for using it?

Ha! I hadn't even thought of that.
@Xtopher: It's on the SciFi(or "SyFy", as they like to be called now...) channel on Tuesdays at 9pm pacific time. It replaced Eureka's time slot.

Are they only airing it in America? :[ It sounds pretty nifty but I haven't seen any adverts for it on Sci-Fi.

Stamm I watch it on www.hulu.com , because I allways miss it. Same for me. I get off work just when it starts, and by the time I remember to turn it on there are only 15 minutes left.

I too have come to really love this show. No, it's not 100% Steampunk, but what is in there, is awesome.
Also, Artie rocks. heart

I am so glad that someone else saw the obvious Steampunk influences to the show's design. Did anyone else notice that Artie uses the "Steampunk keyboard" that's been floating around the net for the last few years?

Benjamin Bradt I am so glad that someone else saw the obvious Steampunk influences to the show's design. Did anyone else notice that Artie uses the "Steampunk keyboard" that's been floating around the net for the last few years? I have to admit, I've been lusting after that keyboard for some time now. I've seen some tutorials here and there but I've never had enough courage to try it myself. I've been thinking that the video communicator could be made using an Altoid tin. It would be smaller but it could work. Can't wait to see tonight's episode.
