Well this anime is quite old.. I was around 10 years old when the series ended in Philippines, it is so cool..

It was dubbed in my language so the names were different..

yusuke was named eugene
kuwabara was named alfred
hiei was vincent
and the one err red haired one i forgot ToT;; and... the prince/king of the underworld (the one with pacifier) was called Junior XD;;

Yusuke was born in earth as a half demon half human. His dad, a full fledged kick butt long haired dude is jumping about injured in the human world (for some reason i could not remember) he ended up getting first aid with yusuke's mom who was not intimidated by the "demon"... and Poof out came yusuke..near the ending or the ending itself.. yusuke and dad goes to battle.. they look soo similar with their hairs all long hehe...

I remember reading about that somewhere. I thought it was kind of funny. And I think how it really went was something like...(Written in white for major spoilers)

Long, long ago (1000 years), Raizen (don't know his dubbed name. Yusuke's ancestral father) was originally a very strong demon. When he became too much of a threat to humans, they employed some people to find and kill him. Taking a few injuries, Raizen ran as far as he could, to the home of a lady (whose name I can't remember) who was a healer, and enlightened. They fell in love.Since then, Raizen vowed never to eat a human being until he saw her, but they never met again. I think, about 35 or 40 generations later, Yusuke was born. He didn't know anything about being part demon (Mazoku) until he was killed by Sensui during the battle in the Chapter Black saga. When he came back yet again, Yusuke went to Demon World to fight Sensui and was possessed by Raizen to finish the battle. Well, Yusuke didn't like being possessed very much, so he decided to go back to Demon World, find out who had possessed him against his will and....beat the living crap out of him. We learn the story of Raizen's past just before he dies.

I finished watching the series around the end of last year, maybe over the summer. So the information is a couple months old, but I'm pretty sure it's right.

That's why I don't want to watch Tokyo Mew Mew, or Shaman King, or any other anime where they screw up the names of characters (and sometimes the name of the show).

I saw the anime first, and didn't really start reading the manga until around the time when the Dark Tournament was put on TV. So, for me, the voices have always been pretty good.
