It was early in the afternoon and Mashaka had already manage to avade all three adults in his life, his father, step-mother and grandmother. Feeling rather smug and happy with himself he wondered around a rocky area not to far from where his home was.
He enjoyed time to himself, but quickly grew bored as it was less fun doing things by yourself. He also recognized that if he didn't have on of his siblings with him, there was no one for him to get to do the things he knew enough not to do, but wanted to see what would happen. There also wasn't anyone to tell his outragous stories to.
Mashaka settled himself on top of some rocks, his purple fur standing out greatly against the grey area around him. He sat there pawing at different rocks flipping them over and looking at all of them.

Pembe didn't have a problem with his family. Two adults and two cubs to worry about. His oldest sister never watched him or his brother. She hated males, he figured. Then his mother was always busy arguing with his oldest sister. He simply just walked away from them. While they were in a middle of another argument. Not like they'd miss him too much. Pembe found himself rather alone. At least for a moment or two. He hadn't noticed the male far off in the distance as he slowly walked towards him. He was the same color as another female he had run into not too long ago.... Though this boy had lot more purple then she did... She was mostly white... No worries, he still didn't notice him.
His pink eyes were on his paws. He was told to watch his feet carefully as he walked or he'd run into things.... Though, he seemed to run into things anyways. He dodged all the rocks that he caught out of the corner of his eyes and walked over them. But his eyes still fixed on his feet as he was told to do. It seemed rather boring, but he did what he was told pretty well.

Mashaka hard the cub coming up behind him, he turned excitedly. He didn't even care if it was one of his siblings. He did want to meet some other someone who wasn't in his family, he was bored of his family but at this point in time he would take anyone. When he saw that it was someone other then his family behind him Mashaka began to wag his tail.
"Hi" he said in an overly friendly voice, he didn't want to frighten this cub away before he could have fun with him.

It did anything but frighten Pembe. He look up to see where the voice had come from. He didn't care who it was, they sounded nice. He had a huge grin upon his blue face as he looked around. It took all of two seconds to see the other male cub. "Hello!" He spoke as he started to bound towards the other. The other was purple, but Pembe didn't know what that color was. He only knew was his color... Which was white, black, and pink. Of course... He was blue, black and white and not pink, but he didn't know that. He had been convinced that he was pink.

Mashaka smiled as the blue club approached him. Unlike the other cub he knew his colors and was aware that the cub was blue, but at the moment didn't think much of it, he had no reason to think it was significant to mention it.
When the cub greeted him Mashaka felt happy, he seemed to be a friendly. He wondered if he could manage to get this cub to do have some fun with him. Smiling he approached him "My name is Mashaka" he stated.

Pembe smile more widely at the other as he stated his name. All cubs seemed to be very nice. "I'm Pembe. It means pink.... Like myself!" He said with a smile. He was named pink for a reason, and he didn't realize or rather, didn't believe that it was after his eyes rather then his fur color. He had always thought it was his fur color. Since his mom never corrected him on the fact he was blue not pink. Which wasn't really anything important. He flicked his tail as he sat down in front of the other.

Mashaka looked the cub over, pink? He had said pink, but the only thing pink on this cub was his eyes. Mashaka let out a snort, this cub was dumber then he though, he was sure he was going to be able to have fun with him, make him do some stupid things, after all he beleived he was pink when he was clearly blue.
"Pembe..." Mashaka began "do you have any family in this area right now?" he wanted to make sure there was no one around to witness his cruelty. He didnt want to cause the cub any harm or anything, he just liked to see that trouble he could convince others too do.

Pembe wasn't really stupid. He just happened to believe a lot of what he was told. Innocent child eager to learn about the world that's fed to him. Though, the only thing he'd never do is learn to hate someone. No matter how much they said it was the right thing, he didn't think it was. Some things he had to cut off and let himself say that's wrong.
He nodded "I have a mother, a older sister, and younger sister, and a younger brother. My younger siblings are the same age as me, but my older sister is WAY older and grown up" He said trying to say it in a way as if he was the oldest of the younger kids. Which he wasn't sure if he was, he just liked to say he was.

Mashaka listened to the other cub with a small smile on his face. This cubs family was nothing compared to the family he had, "I have a large family too," Mashaka added to the conversation "I live with my dad and my 3 sisters, 1 brother, grandma, 4 stepbrothers and stepmom. My mom left my dad taking one of my brothers and one of my sisters with her." His head was spinning slightly telling the other cub of his family structure it confused him so he would be shocked if the other cub had been able to follow all that.
"Did you want to have fun today?" he asked the other cub blowing past the awkward family story moment.

He shook his head "My family's not big." He'd seen bigger families, and this male had bigger then him. "My mom says we are a small family because it makes it easier on her. " He nodded with a smile. "If there had been more of us, she said she'd have not been able to handle us at all." He added another nod. He didn't care that he had a small family, it was nice that way. Less names to remember.
Pembe never knew what the other was talking about. Left? What? Pembe only knew of his mother, and his sisters, and his brother. No one else. Didn't know about anything that happened between his mother and his father he had no clue who he was. "Father?" He asked the other stupidly. He'd never heard that word before.
"Depends on what it is, because we got to be careful." He paused and looked around. "I heard some rocks eat cubs"

"You mean you don't know what a father is? How could you not know what a father is?" Mashaka might not have a mother now but he knew what a mother was. Then again he did have a stepmother to deal with.
"A father is like a mother but a boy. One day me and you we will be fathers." He said being kind to the other cub for a moment, it really wasn't in his nature.
"Also rocks do not eat cubs, other animals eat cubs. But we are lions, we are the top of the line, no one can hurt us." he informed Pembe. "So lets go have some fun. I know a place where the elephants gather we could spook a few. He let out a smirk, he wasn't sure if he could convince this cub to do such a thing, he himself had done it a couple times.

"My mother is the only one that takes care of me and my siblings." He couldn't really explain anything. "No one else." He nodded. " she never spoke of a father either." He told the other. Was there anyone else like him who didn't know what that was? Well now he did. "Me?" He raised a brow. He didn't think he'd ever be a father, being a mother seemed hard.
"Lies! I've seen it." Ok, that wasn't true. But the other didn't need to know that. "I've seen them... horrible horrible rocks." Though the other was already on about something else. Other creatures eating cubs? Who'd want to do that? No matter, he moved on to another subject. "Elephants?" He'd never seen one.

Mashaka decided to ignore the cubs stupid comments about rocks eating cubs. It didn't deserve a response at all, instead he moved on to tell the cub about about elephants, deciding to down play them a bit. His blue eyes had a sparkle in them, as he grew excited about bring this cub and getting him to cause a stampede.
"Well Elephants are large gray animals." he began, "but they aren't too big." he added quickly. "They have funny noses and large ears, and they like to be scared." Mashaka had a feeling that if he made the cub thing that the elephants liked the attention perhaps he would go along more easily.
"Come this way I will show you." he said quickly and began heading towards a water hole that he knew the baby elephants often gathered around to play. He had to start out this cub small and he knew if they timed it right they should be able to dodge the adult elephants all together.

Pembe raised a brow. Had he seen them before? He wasn't sure. He remembered gray creatures that where huge, but no matter this cub seemed like he knew what he was doing. He stood up and decided to follow the other quickly. Without any motion to speak to the other at all. At least not anymore. He seemed to get annoyed with his stupid questions, or at least that's what he figured was happening.
He watched the lands, and watched where the other was going. Maybe it was best to keep one's mouth shut sometimes. If not all the time. He kept a huge smile on his face, though. It was exciting, he had a friend. A boy, his own age. Not his brother, not a girl or his sister. This was great.

Mashaka smiled as the other cub followed him without a question. He turned to talk to him, "They are just over this hill." he told him. He came over the top of the hill and was glad to see that there was a handful of baby elephants just at the bottom of the hill playing in a watering hole there.
He sat down at the top of the hill and allowed the other cub to come up beside him. "You see them?" he asked, "They are playing, they are waiting for us to come." He was glad that from the top of the hill they looked smaller and that these particular babies were not much more then newborns.
"Now to play with them right you have to run full speed down the hill right into the middle of them and let out a loud call." he turned toward Pembe. Hoping now that they had traveled this far the other cub wouldn't back out.
