Afternoon. The sky was unmarred by any clouds, leaving room for the sun to display its golden glow upon the ground. A lone leopardess basked under the sun's rays, taking in the warmth. She so loved the sun and the warmth it provides.
Maua gave a yawn. She wasn't tired, no, only bored. Being a leopard was a lonely life, being naturally independent. Despite her nature of wanting, usually, to be alone, she found herself wanting company. It was quite the lovely day...
She shifted her weight, exposing her belly to the sun. With a smile, she rolled so her whole belly was displayed to the sun. She sun-dried, brittle grass that she was laying upon tickled the sides of her face and down the length of her body.
Days like these were excellent.
She rolled back to her side and gave a small sneeze to rid herself of the tickling feelings caused by the grass. Maua gave a small giggle and turned her gaze to the stretch of land that expanded past her vision.

Tsubame was tired. She had been traveling for the better part of a week after her 'encounter' with Vaatia, feeling the need to travel far away. That encounter was actually fading slowly from her memory, she could remember how they met quite well but after that it was getting fuzzy and Tsu didn't really mind that. She enjoyed being solitary and alone, every now and then though she meets others even when she had gone out of her way to avoid them. It was not that she disliked others but that she distrusted them, Vaatia, just proved her point. Everyone always leaves her one way or another so in her mind there was no point in getting attached.
As Tsu walked through the tall grass on that bright and sunny afternoon, she let her mind wander. And typically her mind settled on a male she had met just a few weeks ago, Achal. Unlike her encounter with Vaatia she remembered Achal vividly, from his striking coat to his kind ways. She was so focused on her thoughts that she did not even see, let alone hear, the leopardess in the grass.

The leopardess gave another yawn and stretched herself further. With a confused blick she watched an oddly colored (not that she wasn't...) feline walk passed her without much notice. Her pink eyes stared at the lioness for a second before she called out.
"Wait, Miss!" she called out, startling herself in the process. She didn't mean to call out, really, but her mind was begging for onversation. She gave a small sigh to herself and pulled herself up from her patch of grass. A small frown crossed her maw before turning into a thoughtful smile.

When someone called out Tsubame stopped, startled at the sound. The blue/orange lioness looked around her curiously, even thought she was deep in thought she did not see anyone else out here, and it was not until a green leopardess sat up out of the grass that Tsu knew where the voice was coming.
Tsubame politely waited for the other female to approach her but she did not call out a greeting because she was hesitant about meeting yet another in such a small span of time, for her anyway. In truth she had only interacted with 4 others but had been introduced to 8 others making it 12 others in little under a month, which for a lioness who might interact with a paw full of others in a month, was quite a lot.

Maua pulled herself up and walked towards to uniquely colored lioness. She was pretty, Maua thought. Maua gave her a smile. She didn't know if she should explain herself, or anything...
"Hello, Miss." She glanced away nervously. "I'm sorry, I just haven't had anyone to speak to in so long," She gave a slight bow to her head. "It's a fine day though."

Tsubame watched as a green leopardess approached her, the other seemed to be quite nice so when the leopardess spoke Tsu answered politely, not knowing how to respond to the second half of her greeting Tsu said, "Greetings, and yes it is a fine day." She did not add anymore since she did not know quite what to say. Normally she was shy and reserved for her own reasons but after Vaatia she was also sorta wary of others.

The floral leopard gave the lioness a smile, happy that someone was at least talking to her. "What brings you out here?" She questioned conversationally. She hadn't known what to say either, not used to talking to anyone. She, after all, usually wasn't in the presence of company, especially not an adult.

The leopardess seemed to be friendly so Tsubame sat down, relaxing her tired paws. "Just wandering. Seeing the savanna and everything else." She wouldn't add that she was trying to avoid meeting others but she sure was thinking it. Granted not everyone that she had met were all that bad, Tsu thought about Tendaji the young lion, and his friend Achal. The lion with a strange coat had seemed to have seeped into her memory and every so often when she was not expecting it he surfaced and she got a funny little smile on her face, just like now.
She shook her head to get her thoughts of him out before she asked the green floral leopardess the same question, "Why are you out here?"

Maua gave a small nod. She was still shy despite having called out to the pretty lioness in the first place. "The savanna is very pretty, especially at sun-down." She interjected the comment, almost desperate in her lack of social skills.
She blinking in a small suprised before pondering the question. "Why... Well, where else would I be?" She questioned lightly.

Tsubame shifted slightly, agreeing with the leopardess in that sunsets are pretty but not knowing what to say. "Um... yeah sunsets and sunrises are the best times of the day." She said trying her best to be friendly but not pulling it off very well. The blue and orange lioness was sitting upright with a straight back, a distant look on her face showed that she was not all there mentally, and her voice was emotionless. She did not know that she was giving a cold shoulder, she was just siting like she normally did. The only thing different was that there was a slight smile on her mouth and a slightly bewildered look in her eyes as she was thinking of Achal and Tendaji, she didn't know why but both of them go under her skin and she could not stop thinking of about them.
When the floral leopardess asked a question Tsu visibly shook herself out of her musings and some of the distant look on her face and in her body faded. "Oh well... Um... I don't know." She said smiling, finding the question and answer strangely amusing.

Maua gave a small far away smile when she saw that the lioness was thinking. She quirked her smile a bit when she got the answer to he question. "It's quite lonely being a leopard, Miss," She told the lioness. "So I'm glad you stopped when I called."
The leopard looked a little sheepish, with her pink eyes downcast a little and a shy smile on her face.

Tsubame was trying to think of a polite way to leave, staying on the move seemed the best idea, but when the leopardess said that she was lonely she suddenly became interested. "But being alone is a good thing right? That way no one can hurt you." She asked, thinking about her own encounters with others when and image of Achal flashed through her mind, "Well sometimes meeting others is a good thing but not always and besides they always leave anyway." She added but more to herself then to the leopard, almost like she was trying to convince herself that she has no feelings for Achal, the lion who has been haunting her thoughts.

Maua tilted her head and thought for a moment. "Oh, I suppose that could be true," She answered lightly. She had never been hurt before - in fact she lived a rather sheltered life before going out into the world. She never talked to many people - thus the lacking social skills.
The leopardess' ears drooped. Well, she supposed that was ture too. After all, the lioness would leave after they finished talking. A small frown crossed her face.
Sudden;y her face became alarmed. "Did I stop you from going somewhere? You were walking..." She felt a bit bad...

Tsubame felt bad that she made the leopardess feel bad so she quickly said, "Oh I'm sure that its not always like that, I mean I just seem to have bad luck... and um of course if you join a pride you would never be alone then." Tsu mentally shuttered at the idea of joining a pride, there were too many who could leave her.
Tsubame was quick to try to sooth the green female, "No I was going nowhere, I was just..." she paused and looked where she had come from, "walking." she finished lamely, not willing to share the real reason she was traveling.

Maua gave a small smile and tried to brighten her demenor, though he ears stayed down. She gave a small nod. "A pride?" She tilted her head to the side a bit. She didn't know what that was. Her ears lifted a little when she was told that she interupted the lioness.
But then, she realized something! She was so rude, and never introduced herself! "Oh, I'm Maua," He ears went down. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself." She gave a sheepish smile and a small giggle.
