~2004.11.16~

So, I wake up this morning to Ansem shouting at me from downstairs. I'm not used to these types of wakeup calls, and neither was poor Chii, who stumbled out of the bed, also, slipping down the satiny sheets I had found none too long ago (who knows what other interesting things are in the HBI basement?). Lucas almost got squished when my head jostled around on the pillow -- he has the habit of curling up near my ears.

Stupid man, why couldn't he let me sleep? He confused me so much sometimes. I threw on my robe, tried to calm Chii down and put her back in bed, and went downstairs, trying to stay on the red carpet that didn't span across the entire shop floor. When I got to the main room, Ansem was standing in the doorway, holding something aloft. I hadn't thrown my glasses on, so I couldn't tell what it was until I got closer.

He was demanding what this was, assuming it was some mail-order package I had sent out, and let me have what's for. I shouldn't be giving out the shop's address -- what we sell is, how do you say, a little shady, no pun intended. Certain parties probably wouldn't find us morally correct, but screw them.

Back to this package. When I realized how little and fragile this was, I quickly took it away from Ansem. He was crushing the little yellow roses that were tied to the bag with a fishnet mesh ribbon. The bag itself was a soft baby blue, not exactly a color I would have picked, but it was easy on my eyes. I'd heard rumors about these bags appearing on doorsteps. These were Lolitas. Immediately, I shuffled off to go upstairs and grab my glasses, and then tended to make a spot to set my Lolita, to take care of it and all.

Ansem just couldn't understand my sudden fussing. He stared at me for a moment, then followed me upstairs and stood in front of my doorway, waiting for me to come back out. When I did, he informed me that a blank journal had come along with this. It read 'Shippou's Journal' on the cover, and smelled of kitsune. (Now that I think of it, the bag sorta smells of kitsune fur...) So, here I am, the bag in my lap, a quill in hand, and scribbling down the tale of how today's been thus far. Chii's completely fascinated with the bag, and Lucas seems a little afraid of it. He keeps ducking behind my ears every now and then, after looking at the bag for so long.

One Big Happy Family. Well... sorta.


Tenoh Aiko ~ Shippou's "mother." Aiko has a strong mother instinct and loves children. Because she can't have children of her own, she's content with adopting. She's a half-bred cat demon (known as a "hanyou"), and runs Hollow Bastion Imports. Her Heart was extracted by Ansem and put inside of the Keyblade Oblivion, which kept her from leaving the Darkness inside the shop. However, with the help of a new pendant, she's able to walk around freely once again and take her children out places.

Ansem ~ Aiko's roommate of sorts. He's the supreme being behind Hollow Bastion Imports, and trapped Aiko there by extracting her Heart and putting it into Oblivion. Sometimes, he wonders if trapping Aiko inside of HBI was a good idea. He's grown annoyed with Aiko's want for children of her own ever since her Lolita was found on the doorstep of the shop. He constantly denies having feelings for Aiko, but his actions often speek otherwise.

Chii ~ A Heartless. She was very curious with the Lolita, but has found other things to fascinate herself with. Chii is often seen petting Julia and wants to take care of her as much as Aiko does, but runs away when she starts fussing. She's completely loyal to Aiko and often will be found by her side. Theoretically, being a Heartless, should be their guarddog of sorts, but she's very skiddish and easily spooked... that is, if she understands that she should be afraid of it.

Rosalba ~ A Beta. She lives in a fish tank next to Aiko's bed. Rosalba doesn't seem to take much interest in much of anything that goes on. Then again, she is just a fish... Er, beta. Rosalba was given to Aiko by Andrani when she was still an egg, which confused mostly everyone, including Ansem. She appears very content living with Aiko and the others... from what we can tell.

Lucas ~ A faemouse. He was very skitterish around Shippou when he was still a bag. When they're home, Lucas is almost always found with Julia, but avoids Shippou. No one can nor will figure out why Lucas detests Shippou so.



Julia ~ Another child that Aiko calls her own. Julia adores Shippou and can be found following him around (that is, if she's not tunnelvisioned on something else). Surprisingly enough, Shippou is not annoyed with the young one following him around. Then again, dispite Shippou being older, Julia is taller than Shippou, but that's because he is a kitsune child, and is naturally small.
