The blue power ranger landed with a thud on his back, a groan his only protest as he tried to grow accustomed to the power rippling across his body to repair any damage. It sparked like electricity along his spine, splitting off along his nerves that made him twitch, with a cold needle p***k feeling. He breathed in and out slowly as his lungs tried to recover the ability to work properly. His attention was hardly focused on anything but the lack of noise, why wasn't anyone asking if they were ok?

The soft crackling of the in-helmet communications slightly worried him but he pegged it on some interferance. He could feel the cracked communicator on his wrist and he was sure he'd be fixing it later but it wasn't reason to worry, Alpha and Zordon would probably lock onto their location and teleport them to the Command Center soon. Right, there wasn't anything to worry about.

Rolling to his paws, Billy surveyed his surroundings. They weren't in the city. They weren't in the park. He shook his head, they'd probably flown farther with the blast that had ejected them. Location seemed the least of his worries when he saw a red lump not far from him, seemingly unmoving. He briefly glanced around for any other colored lumps before rushing forward to his fallen leader.

"Jason! Jason!" his shouts crackled through his helmet's microphone in jagged spikes that pierced into his skull to aggravate a slight headache he hadn't noticed before. He gritted his teeth as he came up to his not-standing friend shaking the red ranger carefully. "Jason, come on, wake up!"

Tshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Jason squinted his eyes against the sun, his vision sliding in and out of focus like the in-helmet communication. He was made distantly aware that someone was calling his name, Jason! Jason!, but every ounce of effort he had was being put into rolling onto his stomach. He made a grunt of annoyance at the needling electricity that branched off of his nerves and hitched his breath every few seconds; where was he?

Tshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Shifting to a stand, Jason found his vision finally focusing and ostensibly heard the call of Jason! once more. The red ranger turned so quickly his neck jarred in protest, but nevertheless his expression fell into relief.

"Billy," he began, his ears ringing against the white-noise of his helmet. "Billy, I'm okay, we're okay. Where are we?" He shook his head, the echoing inference piercing through his ears.

Tshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Billy let out a sigh of relief, thank Zordon, when he heard his name. He felt his helmet fall against his chest just taking in some deep breaths to steady his adrenaline turned fear. Where are we? rung in his ears against the static. That was a good question, he thought silently lifting his head to look around.

"I'm afraid I can't be for certain, Jason, but I don't think we're in California. Or if we are, we're in the far north." He turned to look at the hill he'd landed on, the grass was much to lush to be around Angel Grove. Even the sand that Jason had landed on was too golden to be what they were used to. Unsure of what to think, he lifted his left gloved paw to his mouth, finding the proper button to contact Zordon and Alpha.

"Zordon, Alpha, this is Billy." His brows furrowed when no sound came back and he pulled his glove off to see the cracked face and split wires. That wasn't supposed to happen. He sat down hard on the sand, tail slapping against the course grains with frustration. If his communicator was busted...it was unlikely anyone else's had survived. And there was no way to communicate to them, Zordon, Alpha, or teleport. They were stuck.

"The communicators are no longer operational. We're on our own, Jason," he tried to keep out the wavering fear he felt. How were they going to find the others? He hoped dearly that Trini and Kimberly were with Zack and that no one had gotten stranded alone.

Jason blinked at Billy, attempting to process the formality of his speech; really, he shouldn't even be trying after such a violent knock to the head. Or with white-noise buzzing obnoxiously in his ears. Or while he was already disoriented. Or ever.

"Okay," the ranger began slowly, still trying to gather his thoughts. "Okay, alright, good, we've been on our own before. That's okay, that's fine. We'll be-- okay. Okay?" Jason pulled back at his glove and felt his heart squeeze; split wires and cracks. Perfect, just wonderful. Pivoting on the spot, the red ranger took in his surroundings and made a small huffing noise, his eyebrows drawing together.

"I guess there's no point in just standing around," he paused, looking over his shoulder at Billy.

"We're back and ready to morph into action?"

The blue ranger watched in awe as Jason easily pulled himself together, confident as ever and ready to venture into the unknown. It was the fact that they knew they were completely on their own, sure it had happened before, but usually they were close enough to home that they could clamber into the RADBUG. He had a feeling that wasn't going to be an option this time.

His thoughts snapped back to attention, "No, it would be rather redundant and pointless to stand around. As logical as that is for a child lost in the park it wouldn't be likely to garner ourselves the attention of anyone that could help or even of the fellow rangers themselves." It came out as a rambling, bordering on stuttering, paragraph of knowledge that was more a show of his nerves than anything else. He couldn't help thinking of the others and there was no way any of them were going to stay put. Whether that was good or not, he didn't know.

It was the red ranger's look that made him look on the bright side. He gave a swift nod of his head, blue eyes blazing underneath his helmet with determination. "Right! Let's do it!" He pulled his glove back on, he would fix the communicators when he had time, right now they had more important things to do.

"Yeah," Jason mumbled, rolling his eyes at his comrade but otherwise remaining stoic. "Wouldn't garner attention."

He flashed a confident smile at Billy and turned, marching off in a direction he couldn't be sure was the right way -- but really, could he be sure any way was the right way? Standing there certainly wasn't going to get them anywhere, so logically it was the best solution. Or rather the best action; walking around without the slightest idea of your location was hardly a solution, it was an anti-solution.

Get out of my head, Billy!

He needed to find the others, and quick.

"Anything looking familiar to you, Billy?"

Billy shuffled after Jason, coming up along side him but keeping slightly back, as he turned his attention to their surroundings once more. Since it seemed that Jason was fine, it was more important they figured out where they were.

The flora and fauna weren't providing a whole lot of comfort and he wasn't the resident botanical expert. Sure he knew quite a bit and identification paired with his memory was helpful but Kimberly was the one who loved plants. She probably wouldn't be able to tell them where they were so much but he'd be able to use her knowledge with his to figure it out.

He shuffled off to examine some plants on his right, mostly the birch tree he recognized from his very early childhood in Illinois. Those didn't grow in southern California he knew. At least he'd never seen one in Angel Grove. So they were probably in the north which told him little. He shook his head and proceeded to walk towards another tree, one that resembled a Mountain Dogwood but then it was different. Definitely a dogwood tree, just a different species.

Jason's question caught him slightly off-guard though it shouldn't have. "If you mean familiar in the terms of the surroundings resembling or belonging to a certain place near or in Angel Grove, then no. If you mean familiar in the terms that I recognize a plant or tree or the ecological structure and environment, then I believe I have some clues. However they were far from actually having a proper hypothesis and I can only assume that we are somewhere north of our home."

He did a quarter turn, raising a paw to point at the first tree. "That is a birch tree, I recognize the type of bark from when I lived in Illinois. It's a different species, a Betula cordifolia, commonly known as a Mountain Paper Birch. They don't grow in California or Illinois. At least not normally. And this tree is a species of Dogwood but not the kind that normally grow in the mountains of southern California."

He paused, knowing it sounded like he knew a lot more than he did. So he decided to get to the point knowing by this point Jason was probably looking at him blankly or latching onto things that while a logical hypothesis wouldn't necessarily be a proper or correct one. "The problem with that is, that I don't know if the plants I'm looking at are natural or have been introduced into this environment. I can't formulate a proper hypothesis as to our current location. The most I can venture to guess is that I don't think we're in California."

He sighed, feeling as though he was letting down not only Jason but himself and the others, before shaking himself. They had clues and it was helpful but location wasn't important, or it wasn't as important as thinking positively about the others. He looked up at the red ranger determined to think the others were ok and it was just a matter of finding them. "There's no reason to think that we haven't landed relatively close by to each other." He neglected to mention that there was no proof they'd managed to land in the same state, let alone close to one another. But he was being honest, there wasn't any reason to think they hadn't been lucky to land together. Not yet anyway.

Not far from where the rangers had landed, Kimberly was wandering along the river. She was dressed in civilian clothes instead of the glaringly obvious pink spandex that no one could ignore. Her brown eyes were searching out for flowers she could transplant into her garden, one of the only things that successfully distracted her from those she missed. However the broken communicator on her left wrist was a reminder she could never part with.

It was as she had found a flowering blue forget-me-not plant that she heard the static. It startled her, causing her to accidentally tap into her ranger power and jump into a tree, into to letting a small screech out of her mouth. She heaved a sigh of relief when she found it was only coming from her wrist. Tssssh cut through the air around her playing a ping pong match in her furry ears.

Being one of, if not the least, technological person of the rangers, she found herself looking down at the wrist jewelery with a quirked brow. She hadn't heard the static of her communicator sine she had first found herself in the Oasis and the few times she'd attempted to contact anyone with it. To find it going off on it's own, in intermittent spaces-it must have meant something.

She made her way down the tree, turning to head towards home-the sound grew softer. She stopped, tilting her head, before heading north-the sound grew louder. Well that was settled. She blew out a breath, raising onto her hind legs and throwing her arms out in front of her as her hands clutched her power morpher. "Pterodactyl!"

The pink power ranger set off to the north, not far away from the boys. The in-helmet microphone crackled softly and with a reemerging hope she took a chance, "Jason? Billy? Trini? Zack?" From the distance, it wasn't likely they could make out what she was saying-but they might be able to hear her, if she was lucky.
