For those who have not heard it, go hear. <3
a couple months back I heard Crystal Castle's Crimewave and I love the sound. Soon I got most of their songs and I am addicted.
They are quite different then most I feel. There's like video games kind of sounds and the singer never seems to have an unaltered voice. But I like it.
Give it a go and lets discuss

First saw them on skins series 2 they performed "Alice Practice" I thought what they ******** is this?! My mate downloaded it and I soon loved it. Frontwoman screaming, fragmented vocals and scary 8-bit like electro video game sound that creates an atmosphere and paints a landscape you can dance too. I'm all over it. I didn't think many people outside of the UK, Canada and Australia had really caught on to the 8-bit sound. Although Crystal Castles don't actually use 8-bit but that's the electro//indie//dance sub-genre they've been put in.

oh they are not really known outside of uk and such?
i didnt know that. thought they were awesome enough to be known everywhere.

Well they haven't broken the mainstream yet its more of an "underground" following at this moment but I can see them having broken that to some extent by the end of this tour//next album.
But they're not exactly a band you'll hear on most radio stations. I'd love to see people's faces with that though haha.

well they were on some kind of news show in the uk so i thought they were quite known.haha

Well since their appearance in Skins they've gained a lot of recognition. I suppose that's why America hasn't caught on yet, which is weird because they're Canadian so they'd be around.
Initially it was only the countries that liked the show that embraced them though and Skins didn't take off in America like it did in other countries. But they're on tour - I'm hoping to catch them at Parklife but looking at those prices I'm thinking I'll have to fight my way through a crowd to tickets to their solo show. So they sure as hell better play one!
