This thread is extremely out of date! Please see this revised thread for current information! Sailor Nerissa says, "Of course there's such a thing as a dumb question, have you ever been on the freakin' Internet?"

ROLEPLAY POSTING FORMAT Please post the title of the RP -- whatever you like -- and in brackets or whatever afterwards, the name of who is participating. At the start of the RP, please denote whether it is a regular, solo or battle RP. Don't be afraid to post solo RPs in the main guild thread -- give everyone a chance to read the stuff you're showing off. The only difference as to the brackets is if you're doing a free for all RP, in which case instead of names you should simply put 'free', 'open', 'free for all', etc. However, it is the responsibility of someone roleplaying in the rp to, at the end, put down a ooc post as to who participated in it!As with the rules, an open RP will end up being a battle RP if two or more senshi/generals/humans start a fight in it. If it doesn't, that still makes it just a regular RP. We'd like to discourage Battle Royale free-for-alls for people just wanting a battle on their hands. We'd like to encourage discussing in-depth in thread what kind of story you'd like to write, and writing it beginning to end! Don't let it just peter off into nowhere because you didn't discuss where you wanted to go with it! But let's say you ARE having an open thread. Somewhere at the end of the thread, please simply put a short OOC notice as to who participated in it. That's called responsibility! It begins with the letter R. That makes it special. So for an example, let's pretend I, Sailor Cheesecake, am doing a regular RP with my human friend, Kevin. We're going to town. The title goes thus: [REGULAR] Going Into Town! (Kevin + Cheesecake) Senshi and Negaverse, we don't care if you use your normal name or your 'secret' name in the thread -- you might like to switch between depending on what sort of RP it is. We don't mind. If you're posting a solo, you only need to put your name, obviously. [SOLO] All By Myself, Don't Wanna Be (Cheesecake) Get the drift?

POSTING IN GENERAL Roleplay takes place in the main portion of the guild -- the guild you're eyeballing right now. Subforums within the guild are for your journals, and it's your prerogative to link roleplays/C&P into your journal so that you can keep track of your tally. You can also RP using other formats (AIM chat, whatever) just so long as you C&P it into your journal. We want it down in the guild somewhere. We don't want to make too many rules, but here's a couple, repeating some of the stuff on the main thread rules section. + Please minimise chatspeak. + Please don't use teeny-weeny font. + RP is officially in past-tense third person. + Solos must be 450 words long. You must contribute at least 450 words minimum to a regular or battle RP, within reason -- and reason being that longer is better, and we will be very sad at people who are obviously just skating along to try to get the points. + Just to reiterate in case of confusion: BATTLES ARE STORIES IN WHICH TWO OR MORE POWERED-UP PEOPLE FIGHT. IF YOU ARE JUST WANDERING AROUND ALONE IN SENSHI FORM, IT'S NOT A BATTLE. IF YOU ARE PATROLLING AND NOTHING HAPPENS IT IS NOT A BATTLE. It must be at least two player characters -- you vs. a youma is a solo! + Swearing and violent content is allowed as within the boundaries of the Gaia TOS. + Repeating the twinking rule. God-moding -- or twinking up a character -- comes under a lot of umbrellas, and the most obvious one is that in battle when your character is overly strong, refuses to take any hits, you've seen it before. However, there are other types of god-moding too; your character doesn't have to be the best at anything. Your character doesn't have to be all-beloved, all-beautiful, or all-depressed. Although there has to be a bit of necessary give and take between players as to how your character presents themselves, think about your character this way: am I contributing to the plot? Am I making this story easy to write? + Be a generous roleplayer. This RP is going to involve fights. If you can't decide with the other person who is going to win, take it to the shop owners. Respect whatever rule we hand down. Remember: it is not about the winning. It doesn't matter who wins. What matters is if you write a good story. We will not be handing out lollies according to who wins the most senshi battles. + If you have a complaint, take it to the shop owners. + If you're not sure about it, take it to the shop owners.

SETTING/METAPLOT FAQ + So who's the leader of the senshi? At the moment? Nobody. The senshi of the Solar System's planets once had a leader in Princess Serenity, also known as Sailor Moon -- but she and her court have yet to reveal themselves, and as far as anyone knows Serenity's influence over the senshi may not have even been able to expand across the entire galaxy. Many of Destiny City's senshi have mentors, guides and team leaders, and the Zodiac Court has Chronos, a Princess of their own. However, no member of this massive faction has become the one senshi to rule them all. + So who's the leader of the Negaverse?Metallia. Who is that? Stay tuned. + I play a human. Is there any chance of them ever becoming a senshi or part of the Negaverse? This is infinitely possible. The Negaverse seems to be rather secretive about how they recruit their minions of cruel justice. For the senshi, it's up to them individually as to how they treat their human allies. If you're playing a human, how are they reacting to all this? Personally I'd be taking cellphone pics and blogging like crazy. + Is there any possibility of switching between senshi and Negaverse?Oh, yes. We've seen this brainwashing happening before. However, any faction switch needs to be approved by staff before you are able to go through with it. Swapping between the Negaverse and the side of the senshi? Only if you want to be a knight! Negaverse officers can of course never become senshi. + Can my Negaverse or Dark Mirror character learn the civilian identity of a senshi or Knight? No. A powered character cannot have their civilian identity revealed to a member of an opposing faction. Such information is far, far too exploitable and would realistically lead to character deaths or more secret identities being found out. The only circumstance in which this is acceptable is if a faction switch (corruption or purification) or character death takes place immediately afterward, with a staff-approved plot for it. + What about a just plain civilian learning the identity of a powered character? This is more possible, but we want to know what you are doing with it first. If you want this to happen with your character, please send a plot explaining who, how and why to this mule! + Is there any possibility of switching back to human for senshi or the Negaverse? That would kind of suck for anyone. Unless they really wanted to live the life of a normal girl or boy. This is somewhat possible. + Do the Negaverse officers have elements just like the senshi? They do not! The Negaversers usually funnel their powers through their weapons. + Where's Destiny City located? On the Eastern Coast of the United States, probably somewhere in a big empty space between Virginia and West Virginia where there isn't really another large city of the magnitude of Destiny City. The ocean is not too far away, though the city is landlocked, and on a clear day you can see the mountains from two/three story buildings. + I've run out of questions. No, you just haven't thought of them yet! When you do, please check out our MQnA!

EVOLUTION/ROLEPLAYING FAQ Just to remind you: this is also on the front page. + Can I play if I don't have an official senshi or Negaverse soldier?Absolutely as long as you have a civilian! We try as often as possible to get our civilian characters out and about to be played with. From there, you'll have opportunities to upgrade your character to a senshi or negaverse -- or should you win a custom or whatever, just have your schoolkid character graduate to become a magical character. Go to the Hub to see more there. + How do I grow my senshi/general?There are two main ways to grow your breedable at the moment, and you can also mix and match as you like. Although RPing is our personal preference of choice -- and you can see in the shop the requirements -- we also take, in lieu of stories, special Items that can be used in replacements of stories. Here are the item equivalents to stories: Star candy - 1x equals 1x solo Luna p - 1x equals 1x regular Henshin pen - 1x equals 1x battle You can mix the items just like you can mix stories, so three star candy will equal one luna-p. Go to the "Items" section to see how the rewards are dished out. + Can I grow my senshi without RPing at all?Yes. After a certain number of months, customs (at the very least) will grow to their super senshi form, then to their Eternal form. NOTE: This is only applicable to senshi purchased through alternate means. You must RP your senshi to grow otherwise. + NO FAIRHowever, without RPing or taking part in Events, you will never reach the final special sparkle form. Also if you RP we'll level up your senshi quicker, according to the RP requirements. If you NEVER hang out at ALL, like we NEVER SEE HIDE NOR HAIR OF YOU, the turnover time is around ten months. + All right, I'm mollified.Good. + Do I get to collect items/have a story that counts towards a new form if I only have a 'human' character?Sorry, you can only get items (unless we say otherwise) if you already have a senshi or a Negaverse character. Your clock is rerolled if and when such a time you get a special shop character begins. We like to think that stories et al are the equivalent of training/experience, so it only begins when a character starts their career as such. + Will my character ever be rehomed?Only if it is a special metaplot character, and usually we will try to work something out first. Otherwise you are free. + My character is a special metaplot character. Then if you don't post for such a time as the shop owners deem acceptable, and keep in mind we are very lenient and sweet and gentle, we will rehome. Sorry. But these special metaplot characters will only be given out in special RP events, so we're hoping you'll be an up and coming RPer anyway.

DO'S AND DON'TS from rosemilk and natsube We had a couple of suggestions and nowhere to put them. We thought this was the best place to put it. This applies to everyone -- the questers, the Hubbers, the senshi and Negaverse players, the custom form-fillers. This will make your life easier! This will make everyone's life easier! More importantly, it will make Natsu's and rosemilk's life easier, and as everyone knows they're the only ones who matter. This is not aimed at anybody. This is out of our own heads. + DO think of what your character will look like -- even some sketchy ideas will help bring them to fruition, custom-wise! + DONT make your character the MOST SPESHUL at anything -- someone else probably wants to be the MOST SPESHUL and too many "smartest kids in class" is going to make my head hurt. Feel free to make your character good at something, but use terminology like "is A top ___" and "excels at." "Is one of the star X." "Is amongst the highest X." + DO think of flaws that will make your character interesting, and human- flaws like DEVASTATINGLY BEAUTIFUL are just retarded. "Stubborn" is not a flaw. Natsube would like to point out that "p***y" is a flaw but she's awful. Hint: Can it be in any way construed as a virtue? Think about your flaw this way: is it something that makes your character lame, uncool, or awful to be around? Then it's probably a flaw. You don't have to go overboard -- someone who's twinkily awful is just as bad as someone who's twinkily nice. Flaws like KICKS EVERYONE'S a** and RIPS PEOPLE TO SHREDS WITH THEIR CLEVER TONGUE are just as horrible as "devastatingly beautiful." Flaws are FAR more important than virtues. Pristine characters, that are beautiful to behold, but are snarky and bitchy are so cliche -- try something new, the human race has a billion flaws and even look to yourself for flaws. Half my characters have flaws and virtues that I have. (Editor: all your characters have that, Natsu) We don't demand top of the line writers or characters that you busted a** for six months to create and wrote up ninety pages on. That's no fun (unless you like that -- then go ahead and do it). We just want a little bit of thought. + DO start thinking of an eventual plotline for your character to have. If you think you have something that you think could be interesting, but would need shop input, feel free to pm us! We don't bite. Much. We love stories, we love narrative, we love ideas. We want this shop to have a story, but be a collection of everyone's stories and progression as well -- and we can fit a hell of a lot into the overarching metaplot! PM us. heart + DONT feel like we're picking on you if we have constructive criticism. We are planning a metaplot, and there are just some things that we can't allow, in order for the plot to go through. I'm sorry that we have to be jerks and say "that flaw isn't okay". We don't do it because we love being mean. We like you, have a lollipop. + DO be a generous roleplayer and shopgoer. We will reward you. Literally. + DON'T feel like humans have to be marginalised. This store is about humans as well as the senshi. It's a store about the trials and tribulations of school life set in a hilarious magical setting. We love humans, seriously. See Franz. Franz loves you. Don't feel you have to do the same old same old because your character is human! Have them ******** stuff up with their potato guns, get wasted, whatever! Humans can get into serious trouble! Danger isn't only for sailor senshi and the Negaverse. + DONT be afraid to make enemies of fellow scouts -- not everyone has to be friends ICly and its more fun when hatred is involved! It's the same with the Negaverse soldiers, though on a different level; you'll have to (sort of) follow orders from your higher-ups, but your peers are fair game. + DO feel comforted that In The Name Of The Moon is an LGBQT-friendly shop. As though "Sailor Moon" was anything but mass lesbo bait.

GUIDE BY NESSARIAH AND CUTERTHANYOU, WITH FOREWORD BY VAMPS AND EDITOR'S NOTES FROM ROSEMILKMaking your Negaversian a part of the Negaverse -- by VampsRemember what the Negaverse is. The Negaverse is basically EVIL. They aren’t going to be running around helping old ladies. They are the ones most voted likely to throw an old lady out of a car at another old lady for maximum damage in your high school yearbook. They are basically the people you’d never want to mess with. Ever. killing people. It’s not all sparkles and flowers, that’s senshi. Negeaverse is rotting carcass with a hint of sour milk. You need to keep in mind they are going to be hurting people and causing general chaos. You can’t have fluffy wuffums McFluff as eventual hardcore killer. When Negaversians start out, they are greenhorns. Some are doing this because it was this or nothing, some do it because it’s fun for them, and some do because they think it’s right. In fact, chances are your Lt. won’t even know the full gravity of stealing starseeds until later. They may also not fully comprehend the purpose of the negaverse. Charonite is not Mr. Fluffy McFlufferton. He isn’t going to reward you for saving a life. He’s going to reward you for taking that life. But at the same time, he is probably not going to expect much. You’re a Lt. You’re a newbie. But the fact is, your character has to have some legit reason for serving the negaverse. They also have to be able to STOMACH it. Killing people isn't something the average person can do. It's going to take ALOT to make some goody two shoes kill, and even thin, alot is going on internally. Note from Rose: If you have a Negaverse character who you think started out as basically good, don't worry: the lack of a star seed makes your character much more susceptible to Charonite's orders and much less inclined to think about what they're doing in terms of killing and murder. The above all completely applies so please don't hand us Nicens McLovepuppies -- but don't worry if you're thinking, "Ugh, but my character hasn't really started out as a psycho crazy!" Don't worry, the psycho crazy is brought on anyway. You will do better if you ARE the type of person to stomach the death and the mayhem, take the orders and do the work, but having your star seed corrupted DOES in fact mess around with your personality. It's not going to make you massively different unless you've been corrupted for years -- but it WILL change you. Naming --All Negaverse characters must be named from a mineral. Here is a listing of almost all minerals. I can guarantee that you can find a good name. Do the colors and weaponry have to be based off said mineral? Absolutely not, it's just your name! If you would like to do so though, feel free! Linarite is a blue stone, so I gave her blue hair and put a bluish color on her uniform. That's just my preference. Weaponry --One of the most fun parts of having a Negaverse character is thinking up the silly weapon that your Lieutenant will have for their first stage. However, it is probably best to start with an end-stage weapon and work back from there. A good example given by the fabulous Shazari puts it best - “You might start with something like a Ring Pop and think it is funny and amazing. But in the end, you're just stuck with a ring. And what good will that do you in battle?” Don't be afraid of overlap! There are only so many types of weapons out there, and eventually two people are going to want to use a sword. Or a mace! It is courteous to ask the person with the established character what they think, but most people will not mind as long as it's a different idea of a sword! For example! Linarite will eventually be using a big two-handed hammer made out of crystal. If you wanted to use a big two-handed mace with spikes made out of rock or metal that would be totally acceptable! Note from Rosemilk: there are so many different types of maces, swords, etc out there, so really don't worry so long as yours IS definitely different! Uniform -- This is what the four original Generals wore every single day of their unfortunate lives. Do you have to match your uniform to what everyone else is wearing? No. But there should be some militaristic ideas in the uniform. The main color must be some shade of dark blue/gray/brown. Look at current military uniforms around the world for inspiration. Don't be afraid to take elements of fashions you like and mix them up to make an awesome Negaverse uniform! Individuality is in the style, and the piping color. You should have some sort of piping on your uniform somewhere. Then, you pick a secondary color that will, for the most part, be unique to your particular Negacharacter. Personality Selection --This is probably THE most important part of the whole guide, and it's precisely why we did it to begin with. Think of the Negaverse like an elite military organization. You have to fit their guide of what works to make it in. Yes, you could probably fool the system, but why would you want to do that? Exactly. You wouldn't. Everyone will make a big deal about how they are 'evil', but please keep in mind that there are many ways to be evil. It's not just black and white! Some things to consider: ・ Is your character going to seek out the Negaverse, or will it find them? ・ If the Negaverse went looking for them, why? They should have something that adds to the organization as a whole, a real asset. (NOTE FROM ROSE: It's totally fine to say, "My character is really good at X and Charonite noticed this" so long as it's not like, "MY CHARACTER CAN KILL YOU WITH A TOOTHPICK.") ・ Does your character have any handicaps? Are they perhaps somewhat slow in the mentals? One leg is shorter than the other so they don't run very fast? If so, they should have an overwhelming plus to make up for this minus. Otherwise they will probably end up at the mercy of a Senshi fairly quickly. If not a Senshi, Charonite will have them at HIS mercy. ・ Does this person want to simply change the world, or do they want to destroy everything? What is their motive for murdering or enslaving the whole planet? ・ You are an officer of the Negaverse, not some grunt solider, so some leadership potential should be there. At the same time, will you take orders blindly? Or will you be a questioning person that ends up getting their butts kicked by Charonite every time they turn around? Odds are that if your character was sought out for a mental talent or physical prowess, there would be some sort of easing into their role. This is usually referred to as brainwashing. Teaching kids that this is what the right thing to do is, no no things work like THIS, etc. You can be moderately creative when it comes to how your Negaverse character came to join the Dark Side! You should probably consult the staff, however, if you start getting too creative. If you found them, then there must be something wrong with your character. Some kind of sociopathy that makes them want to do bad things with bad people. And that is totally okay! But definitely explore the motivations and reasons behind why you are now a serial killer. Please keep in mind, however, that every single one of the Shitennou had a good deal of power. However, none of them ever had a thought in their mind ever to overthrow Beryl. Simply because when you enter the Negaverse, you go through a good regiment of brainwashing. You do what you are told and by God you do it right. Beryl had enough power to imprison and kill her generals with a second's notice. Charonite is considered to be on-par in power with the Queen, so assume he would do the same to you no matter what stage you are at.
