MY colorguard is never in step and it's never really been a big thing. My BD doesn't make us fix it because he knows nothing about guard so he mostly just leaves us alone. I made captain this year and I fully intend to fix it because I think that it really wrong. Guard is part of the band isnt it? So we should have to at least be in step, especially since we count as visual effect and - lets face it - NO ONE looks good out of step.
What about you guys?

we usually try to be in step but sometimes depending on work and such we are out of step... it happens

Our guard can't count, let alone keep in step. I'm not in guard but I was on winter guard so I know how they practice and their routines. There was a point last year where they were off so much on the counting we told them to shut the hell up or count right. Even the teachers can't count, though they are the best in the nation.
