Arelle was looking around with bright blue eyes, worrying and being quite skittish to say the least. She was passing back and forth biting her bottom lip. Where was she? she wanted to get back home to Oberon, she went out to the lake in the middle of the night and on her way back she had gotten herself seriously lost. Nothing around her looked familiar. Nothing gave her a clue on how to get home. Every tree looked like a tree, every rock looked like a look and every path looked like it was the one leading her to her home.
Her long mane and tail was scraping the floor collecting dirt as she moved swiftly in between the trees walking in circles to say the least. She wanted to get home, for one Oberon would be very mad if he knew she had come out in the middle of the night without him. Secondly... she just wanted to get back to him... she always felt safer when he was here. She never knew there was anyone else in the world before today. Then she had met another life... her whole world looked like it had been turned on its head. Her reality had just collapsed in front of her eyes.
She came to a tree which had a opening in the roots as she laid against it. She was tired and bored and scared and wanted to go home! she sniffled and rested her head on the ground, tears began to poor silently down her face as she shook. What if she never saw Oberon again? she made a few small squeaks trying her hardest not to make too much noise. After all who knew what type of monsters were about at this time at night. Monsters Oberon had warned her about but never existed in her mind.
Her ears perked as she heard something near by, she gasped as tears came down her face quicker. Who was that? she wondered it could have been anything and she was all on her own. No one to save her. Helpless.

Kanani was not one to be out late, but she felt that there was a reason for her restlessness on this night. Something in the forest was not normal... or at least, was different. She could sense a magic that she had never felt before, and had only heard legends of... but she wasn't so sure to trust her own feelings. Not too many special creatures called the deep forests their homes, and why not? It took one with a strong heart to brave the shadows. But Kanani had never really minded. She grew up in a forest, and it was in a forest that she would stay.
So, with a hidden determination, she stayed on her course, following the strange feeling. Soon enough, she began to hear noises--not any old animal noises, but the whimpers of someone in distress. It was indeed strange to hear such a thing, especially in the dead of night, when most creatures had the sense to stay silent. But Kanani was not afraid to discover it's source, for she herself was a creature of the dense forest, and knew her way around quite well.
Suddenly, a faint glowing light appeared between a couple of large trees. The startled noise became louder--it almost sounded like crying. Kanani crept quietly closer, keeping to the shadows, squinting her eyes in curiosity, until she made out the form before her.
It was a soquili, and an Angeni at that! And she seemed to be upset for some reason. She raised her voice and called, "Excuse me? Are you alright?"

Arelle darted as soon as she heard another's voice, Until she was behind a near by tree and looking at the female from the shadows. Where did she come from? she shook slightly and gulped looking at her with wide eyes. The female did not seem to be anything sinister then again she did not know what anything sinister looked like. After all a Skin-walker was her only known friend and protector she had no clue what was light and what was dark, what was good or evil.
She took a deep breathe still making sure the tree was still there to distance her from this female she was still on her toes. "I... just want to go home..." she sniffed her eyes red and her voice high pitched and squeaky. "But.. I dont know where home is... and I am scared and I want Oberon..." She spluttered tears starting to pour once again as she said her loved ones name.
She did not know what good telling the female out be or if she really wanted to help her. The fact was even though she was scared she thought that maybe it would pay off. After all the first person she met tonight was friendly enough. This female's voice was too nice and gentle to be a threat. Something inside her told her she was no danger.

Kanani's natural motherly instinct perked at the tear-filled words of the unseen mare, and she tried to discern where the owner of that sad voice may be hiding. She followed the soft sobs to a large tree, behind which she could see a white form. She inched around the tree, and as she caught sight of the other mare, her eyes widened in wonder. An angeni! Though she had never seen one of these legendary horses, she knew that this was true by the tales of their notable wings and beauty. And what beauty this one possessed! It seemed terrible that something so pure should be upset and frightened. Perhaps she would be able to help her?
"It's alright, young one. Don't be frightened by me--I won't hurt you. I'm actually quite helpful, if you'd mind me." She moved a bit closer, inspecting the mare for any wounds. "You seem to be in good condition... But why so upset? Who is this Oberon that you speak of? Can he help you?"
Then she paused, smiling softly, and in a kind voice, said,"Forgive me. First of all, I think that you should know my name. I am Kanani. What may I call you, dear?"
