Damian Centurion was admitted into the hospital in critical condition. Emergency surgery had to be performed to repair a pierced lung and broken bones. Everything was repaired to a nearly perfect state thanks to the incredible medical technology, but nothing could erase the guilt he would feel that he couldn't protect Raquel.
Hours upon hours later, he awoke in his bed feeling completely drugged and numb. He'd no idea where he was, and had great difficulty remembering just what had placed him there at all. But there was one person he could never forget. Raquel.

Raquel had been forced to stay in the waiting room as they took him in for surgery. She couldn't stand to watch him get taken away but she knew he had to. After the Doctor checked on her, giving her a light painkiller and making sure nothing was broken,. Though she felt nothing. Nothing but worry and dread. She had paced for the hours it took to repair everything, for the first time in a long time, feeling utterly alone. The man she loved was down the hall being cut open and prodded, and her only other 'friends' were planets away.
Word smut have gotten out that Damian Centurion was in the hospital for a small word of reporters was forming at the door, though not allowed in by the doctors and securities orders The only person who managed t o break through the barrier was someone Raquel was actually glad to see.
"Raquel!" a familiar voice rang out as Raquel shot her head up. Nat was there being held off by security. "Wait, it's ok! I know him.." She called as the guards stopped, nodding before letting him jerk away, running to her. "Raquel are you alright?? I didn't get to speak to you at the festival, then out of nowhere, there's rumors going around that Damian's dead or something!" Raquel burst into tears, mumbling something about he might be as Nat caught her from falling over. He shushed her and tried to get her to calm down enough to tell him what happened. All she said though ,was that they had come home to find a intruder of some sort who beat the sense out of Damian after the man had hurt her and Damian made a move to intervene. It was somewhat the truth, though wasn't sure how to explain their Amaranthine problem to anyone else just yet.
Nat seemed to believe her, pffering her some company while they waited to hear Damian's condition. Finally the doctors said she could see him though he wouldn't be responsive for quite some time. Raquel barely heard them, simply taking off to find his room. There she found him bandaged with IVs sticking out of him all over, still rather ragged looking, as her tears started up again.
She sat at his bedside, just waiting for him to show any signs of consciousness. Nat had stayed with her during all this, hating to leave her here all alone, despite it hurting to see her so upset over another guy. By the time Damian had come to his sense slightly, Raquel was slightly asleep, her head in her arms at the edge of his bed, Nat's jacket over her shoulders. Nat was asleep against the window on the side of the room, snoring lightly.

Damian couldn't speak properly, and didn't want to wake her anyhow. Memories flooded back on what he had done to have her released from beings stronger than he. At least he was alive. Andrew had agreed to that much.
He would have to file a police report, tell of the details... the police would have to believe him. And even if they didn't, he didn't have any other explanation for them as to what could have happened.

After a few minutes, Raquel murmured something to herself, then again a bit louder. "N-no.....Don't...please stop....I dont want...." She took in a deep sharp breath, sitting up straight and looking around. It was just a dream.. calm yourself Rox. It was just a dream...
She rested her head on her hand, fighting back tears. She looked awful. Her pale face just made the dark purple bruise on her face seem darker, as well as the circles under her eyes. She rubbed her face exhaustedly, though winced in the tenderness before looking to Damian.
She jumped slightly, not expecting him to be awake. "D-damian?....are...are you alright?" She asked, suddenly on her feet, but feeling a bit dizzy. She shook it off coming closer to his head, wanting to reach out to touch him, but still not wanting to hurt him.

Damian had a small tube running down his throat and into his windpipe to help him breathe after the surgery upon his lungs. He couldn't reply, but the corner of his lip twitched in a smile. The comfort he wanted was just to have her hold his hand, and maybe say if she was alright, but Damian had no idea how to communicate those feelings or wants without moving or speaking.

Raquel was a little choked up at the site of him like this, but she tried so hard not to cry. The poor thing could barely move, let alone talk. Raquel placed on hand on his, the other stroked his head gently. "...I was so scared I'd lost you... But here you are... my strong Damian..." She whispered getting closer to him. She wanted to talk to him so badly but didn't know how... or ... maybe she did.
She furrowed her brow as she brought the chair a bit closer to him, taking a seat near the head of his bed. She swallowed a little, taking her free hand to his head again, but this time, maybe using her powers to hear his thoughts. She made sure Nat wasn't looking before letting her eyes go dark.

Are you alright? Did he leave, did he hurt you further? Everything swirled around her, what she said to the police, what was going on with everything, again if she was alright. He knew his own state, and could only concentrate on getting better. There were six more days at least until the others came home... and even though medical technology was amazing in Veratia, he couldn't be better by then no matter how he tried.

Raquel shushed him, trying to get him to calm down. I'm fine. Just bruised up. He left as soon as you blacked out. The police came, and I told them we were attacked by an intruder who proceeded to threaten my life, which you saved, getting this beating... She answered his questions quickly and precisely. She didn't want him to focus on such things. Damian... I almost... You almost- She had to stop herself. I'm so sorry.... please no I was never planning on leaving. I promised you you'd never be alone again, and I meant that. They said you'd be killed if I didn't go... a tear ran down her physical face as she gripped his hand.

Damian was so used to promises meaning nothing that he hadn't even thought of the one she made. Stupid, stupid man, he thought. It was Raquel. Of course that meant something. I know. I know, I love you... I thought of shooting them, but knew they would just kill you in revenge. I had to use myself. I love you. This is alright so long as you are safe. His eyes closed, and his consciousness faded in and out a bit. Sleep wanted to claim him again, but he didn't want to leave this place with his fiancee in it. Damian was so afraid of sleeping and not waking up.

Raquel could sense his fading which worried her so much. Darling.. let me get you a doctor... let me get you somehting ok? You need rest but- She was afraid of the same thing. ...I..I love you ok? She pulled ehr hand away, breaking the communication for a moment. She looked down on him, her eyes watering. She leaned down and kissed his head gently, lingering for a moment before pulling away. "I'll be...I'll be right back..." She promised, holding up her hand as she turned to go get a nurse to check on him

Damian fell asleep before anything could be done. He was alright, but would not wake until the next day.

The next morning...
Nat had to get back to the bar to work, apologizing to a very grateful Raquel. She told him she'd be fine, and that she'd call if she needed him. Satisfied with that, he left her with the still partially unconscious Damian.
She still hadn't slept well, though didn't care, finding herself glued to his bedside. When the silence of the room started to get to her, Raquel would sing to Damian, softly and lovingly, hoping he would wake up and just send her a smile.

Damian did wake up, to the sound of her singing to him so softly. He wished he could hum along with her or say something, but the tube was still down his throat as he was still recovering from that injury. Love, he said in his mind, hoping she would pick up. How are you?

Raquel continued to sing until she happened to glance up at him. He was awake. "Damian..." She Stood, coming up near him. She kissed him gingerly, looking into his eyes. "You poor thing...How are you feeling?" She pressed her hand to his head to hear him.
