Gao smiled a large proud smile as he headed back to his home. He was an adult now, he had a new name and he was very proud of him accomplishment. He had not expected to find it so quickly, but thank to Achal, Ten and his family, as well as Hara, he found it. He even had to give some credit to his father, for his new name, even though they'd never met.
He walked with purpose, keeping his promise to Hara close to his heart. He didn't understand why, but he'd thought of her a lot since they met. He was very excited to see his new friend again and tell her his new name. She'd be the first to hear it. He'd been slightly worried about her though, as she'd been with cub when they met and he was sure by now they'd been borned. He sorely hoped she made it to the swamps okay.
Sighing Gao pushed the thoughts from his head, trying to keep his thought positive.

A humming sound could be heard faintly in the distance, the source being a pale lioness blurring from the horizon's edge. The day was still early, and with it Inija was brimming with energy. Why, there was even a kindly skip to her steps as she traveled along. Her previous nights, alone and in foreign lands, had left her going to sleep bitterly and waking up nearly the same. But today, for some reason the sun smiled brighter upon her moods. A blessing for anyone who'd cross her path.
Swinging her tail lightly, Inija quirked a brow suddenly. Oh! What was this scent? It...it was so familiar! Curious beyond reason, the lioness prowled forward to follow the smell. This was no meal she was hunting, that much she knew. So just what was it?

Gao stopped resting for a moment, he knew he was getting much closer to home and he could stop know. He grinned happily, his dismal thought replaced with thought of his home and his sisters.
His sister, the thought made him smile wider. He wondered if any of them were there. He knew each adolescent was sent away at a different time so he was not sure, who had left and who had come back. He was even sure whether he was the first to go. Gao hoped they would be back, it been too long since he seen them and he wanted them to know his knew name, after he kept his promise of course.

Nose to the ground, the lioness continued her pursuit with fervor. She knew this scent, she knew it very well....so why couldn't she place it? Was she so often grumpy that she forgot details like this? Snorting at herself for such an error, the femme glanced up finally to search the terrain.
Wait, just over there! Inija crouched down swiftly and squinted her eyes as an instinct. Was it an early meal sitting over there? It was far away, but large enough to assume it was another feline. A....a lion as well, with such an immature mane near the ears. Then the stranger made a slight turn, and Inija gasped aloud. She knew that marking upon his flesh! Grinning with delight and bright eyes, the lioness prowled forward swiftly. This would be an amusing greeting.

Gao was about to get up and continue his journey back toward the pride lands when he could have sworn he heard a noice. He twitched his ears, but heard nothing. Even still he looked around, gazing across the lands. Still nothing.
Gao frowned and stood turning back toward home and began to move forward again. He was so excited to be home. To see his mother and sister and maybe his new friend Hara.
Didnt know whether you wanted her to surprise him, so that why he didnt see her.

Oy! The lioness knelt to the ground as the other had paused and twitched his ears. Had he spotted her? Was her cover blown? Holding her pose for some time, Inija eyes the other with a hesitant grin. A waiting game to see how was still the prey. His eyes had passed right over her, and she sighed as he walked away from her. Now was her chance!
Prowling forward as quietly as possible, Inija pressed onward with an eager tail. This was just too amusing and good to be true! A nice change from her dull days in the roguelands, that was for sure! Finding the time and chance to be right, the lioness leaped forward. Her mouth opened with a roar of challenge as her paws reached out to the other lion. Would she make her target? Or would he somehow evade her tackle?....

Gao turned poised to fight of whatever predator had decided to attack him, but he hesitated fore the figure looked extremely familiar. In the next second he was literally bowled over by his sister. He tumbled landing face down and bottom up on the ground.
Gao grinned and went to pounce on his sister, "Inija!" He'd missed his sisters and so happy to finally see one. "I've missed you so."

She hit her target! And the best part was seeing the emotions in his eyes, stirring from startlement to recognition. It had caused her roar to change into pure laughter as they were sent in a dizzy roll of soft fur. Goodness, she didn't realize how much she missed the scent of home and family!
As they slowed to a stop, Inija pounced away in a dusty blur so her brother could stand. And it didn't take him long to tackle her back, sending her to the ground. "Hahaha, didja now? Well that's good to know!" She moved to give the other Swampie a bear hug, her tail flopping happily. "How've ya been Gao? Stayin out of trouble I'd hope!"

Gao grinned laughing, he had so much to tell. "I haven't gotten in to much trouble. Got stuck in a tree once but I out as you can see. The rogues lands are wonderful and I met so many others. Its was so much fun, but I am very glad to be nearing home."
Gao nuzzled his sister and sat back in front of her, "My journey is complete and I am an adult now. Can you believe it?"
Gao puffed up his chest and showed of his thickening mane although it was not full yet. He felt so proud.

Inija snorted a laugh while tossing her tail. "Oh come on now, not even a little trouble? It would seem so fun though!" The sister chattered her tease while pawing the familiar flesh of her kin. Hm, seems time away from the pride had made him tougher...why, was that muscle under all that skin? xD
"Ugh, lucky! The spirits must have given you your name then........wha! Did they?! Well what is it?" Her tail flapped excitedly, wondering what to call Gao now. Then she sniffed at his new fur line before snuffing. "Pft, well you're a stinking adult. But don't worry, once you get back home you'll smell like the swamps in no time." She truly hated how the roguelands smelled too much like sun and sand.

Gao deflated himself a bit and nodded to his sister, "It did seem like it would be fun at first, but the more I thought about the more I was no longer interested. I think to much. I always have though. You know that Inija."
Gao stood and grinning, he was bursting to tell his sister his name. "They have and it a very wonderful name ..."
Suddenly Gao remember saw Hara's face and remembered his promise to her. She was his new friend, who he'd though about a lot and really did not wish to break the promise.
"... but I can't tell you. Im sorry Inija. It was a promise. I have to tell Hara first."
Gao watched as his sister sniffed him and then disapproved of his scent, "Hey I don't smell that bad and I'm almost home. I be smelling like the swamps again in no time." He frowned at his sister, "I dont imagine you smell to much better."

The female rolled her shoulders in a shrug since it was true, her brother did think far too hard. "C'mon though. There still has to be some mischief in you, it's only natural. Even if you don't admit it."
Inija did frown though as Gao hesitated on revealing his new name. What, did he forget it already? Then he explained to her, and the pale lioness huffed. "Hara? Who's this Hara?" What, he'd tell some random lioness before telling his own kin?! Inija felt insulted, and made to stand. "Sounds like you have a girlfriend, hmmm? Well fine then, tell her first, I don't care." And she huffed moodily again, planning on not telling Gao her own new name when she found it. Well, at least for some short time before she finally would tell.
"Heh, that's true we both do stink. Too bad there's no murky plantlife like the swamps to roll in."

Gao shook his head, "you know I hardly have any mischief in me at all. It's just how I am. I think to much and most of the time I'm far to polite. I guess I did have a little mischief on my journey. I learned to climb and I have to say, I much prefer the ground."
Goa attempted to tell Inija about Hara, but was silenced at her suggestion of Hara being his girlfriend. He shook his head hard and his cheeks were warm with embarassment. "Come on Inija. It's not like thats. She a friend I met in the rogue lands who was headed for a new life in the swamp. I told her about life there and promised she'd be the first to hear my name." He looked at his sisters moody expression and frowned.
"Really Inija, don't be like that. As soon as you return to the swamps I promise I will tell you. Okay?" He was pleading and he knew it, but he didn't want his sister mad at him. It just seemed so unnatural."
He smiled hoping her comment about the swamps was her way of saying I forgive you. "Yeah to bad," he said smiling. "I can't wait to get home. After I find Momma and Hara, I am going to dive right into the swamps for a nice long bath."

Inija rolled her eyes lightly as her brother chattered about his 'adventures'. Though they sounded so mild compared to what one would expect when leaving their pride for the first time. Soft ears flapped against her fur as she shook her head while giving Gao a look. "You promised your name to a rogue? A rogue, Gao?" Being the girl she was, the lioness snuffed again to such news. May the spirits favor this rogue for her to be treated so casually. But she'd just keep that to herself.
"Eh." She didn't want to comment anymore on the name issue. It left a bitter taste in her mouth, and she'd rather move on to other topics. "Well, at least one of us will enjoy home again. And it sounds like you'll make there before I do; my journey's not finished yet. Speaking of which, I should move on with my travels. The sooner the better, eh?"
Twisting her tail, Inija stepped away with a nod to her kin. She doubted it take long for her to return home too. They'd see each other again soon enough. "Take care of yourself, eh bro?"

Gao felt embarrassed when his sister stated the way she did. He had promised his name to a rogue, but Hara was different and all the rogues he'd met in his journey's were kind and excepting of him. At the time he really hadn't seen it as a problem. She was headed to their pride right? Not only that, she'd be there when he got there and she wouldb't be a rogue anymore.
He shrugged at his sister's response, what was done was done.
"Yes, it seems as though I will make it there first and yes, the sooner you finish the soon we will see each other again. Good luck on your quest and may your new name suit you well."
When his sister stepped away to leave Gao stepped forward and gave her a quick nuzzle before stepping back. Her turned to leave his ears swivling to hear her words.
"I will Inija, don't worry. Love ya sis. See you soon." With that Gao took off knowing that if he stayed he want to go back out and travel with his sister, but his journey was over and now was her time.
