Vaatia glared angrily at the bright sun above him. His dark ears were glued to the top of his pure white mane, a snarl crossing over his already curved lips. He hated the sun. No... Scratch that. LOATHED it. It was so damn bright and seemed like it just NEEDED to be all up in everyone's business! It was disgusting... Fiery piece of burning crap.

Growling and lashing his tail violently behind him, the white and black male began to sprint over towards the nearest thing of shade he could find. It wasn't much... But any shade was better than that blasted sun beating down on his beautiful coat. His poor, poor pelt... It was being fried by that monstrous orange ball that sat up in the sky above the plains. He could not afford that. He used his gorgeous self to attract the ladies, and it shone so bright during his midnight escapades. He HAD to keep it in good condition... Regardless of what plans the sun might of had.

"Damn it... Damn it to hell...", he mumbled, snarling again, shaking his head as if to shake the sun's rays away from him, only moving quicker to the shade he had spotted not too far ahead.

Tsubame had finally left the family of Nabila Siti far behind, it was not that she disliked them it was just that there were so many and Tsu was distrustful of others to begin with. She had been traveling when she decided to take a rest since the sun was high and hot. It did not take her long to find a tree with some low branches, which she promptly climbed since it was safer then staying on the ground with other predators. Once she was on the branch and in the shade she fell into a kind of doze. In her sudo-dreams was the lion Achal. There was no real reason for her to dream about him, except maybe his fur since he had the most extraordinary markings.

She drifted deeper into sleep not even hearing the approach of another lion. In her little dream world she was no longer shy or afraid but was out going and brave with a family that would never leave her.

Still grumbling and griping about the sun that shone so brightly over the savanna plains, Vaatia made one quick final dash forward, skidding to a halt underneath the single tree that was sitting out here. Instantly, he sighed with the utmost relief, immediately hiking his front half around to lick his back and side. It would be clean of those vile rays that tried very hard to penetrate his beautiful fur! Each and every single last one of them!

"Damn sun..", he kept mumbling in between licks, his dark pink eyes dashing around, seeing if anyone had followed him into his small, but worth it, hiding spot. His pearly whites took a moment to gnash at his skin underneath his coat, scratching an itch that had been there for a hot second when he noticed....

..Was that a tail?

Cocking his head to the side and looking up above him, the great white and black lion saw what he surely didn't expect... A blue and orange-brown lioness lounging peacefully on a thick branch. She seemed to be simply dozing off, probably also having seeked out the shade much in the way he had. A smile grew on his maw and he straightened his body out, shaking some to fluff up his already gorgeous pelt.

"Oh baby....", he growled, eyeing her delicately, and trying to figure out the best way to wake this blue lady up.

Tsubame was just sinking into a deep dream when some noise pulled at her consciousness, being on her own for such a long time she had learned to follow those gut feelings. She came awake fairly quickly but she immediately felt a presence underneath her so she feigned sleep until her mind woke up completly.

She covertly shifted, as if shifting while sleeping, until she could sneak a look at what ever was below her. Tsu almost twitched in surprise when she saw the large black and white lion directly below her, looking right at her with his dark pink eyes. She immediately closed the one eye that she was peeking with and could only hope that the lion had not noticed her awake and went away. Silently she wished just that, she had met her fill of others for the week when she ran into Tendaji and was introduced to his entire family, and she did not think she was up to yet another chance encounter.

The large lion saw her shift around some, and only became more interested in her. Vaatia was larger than most lions, so he probably looked rather mean. Of course, that wouldn't ever change the fact that he WAS rather mean, but in a delicate way. If he could wake this snoozing wall flower up, he would show her just how mean, yet ever so delicate, he could truly be.

A red tongue slipped out and licked across his already grinning maw, his large black paws beginning to start in a pace. He almost looked terrifying, as he simply looked up at her, now pacing back and forth. He was licking his chops and his dark pink eyes were nice and wide. How much more creepy could one be?

"Wake up, my sweet...", he whispered, stopping for a moment to watch her movements. He had a strange gut feeling that the lioness had already stirred herself to an awake state, but was playing him for a fool. Not very happy about this, he watched her closely, beginning to pace once more, his black tail lashing behind him.

Tsubame tried her best not to peek again, he might see, but she could feel him pacing below her. She knew he would not go away, he would have by then if he was right? She was so focused on acting asleep and on what the large lion was doing, that when he called her his 'sweet' she twitched. Trying to cover for her mistake she shifted as if rousing from a deep sleep, if he was not going away there was no point in her feigning sleep.

Tsu would have loved to just get up and move but her mussels protested so against her better judgment she stretched the kinks out while still on her branch, pointedly ignoring the lion below her still hoping that he would go away.
