Governor of South Carolina Mark Sanford recently revealed to the public he has been cheating on his wife.
What effect will it have on his career?
What about other politicians that have been caught cheating?
How has your opinion changed?

the fact that what spitzer's affair was illigal makes his the worst but sanford being a concervative that voted to impeach clinton makes me lose the respect i had for him

Here's my opinion:
Spitzer: His was illegal. Really shouldn't have done that because it really killed him.
Clinton: Was just wrong. He talked his way around it during the whole process.
McGreevy: He cheated on his poor wife with a man. He had a daughter at the time as well. The nasty divorce that followed didn't help him out of the hole he dug himself in.
Sanford: He has a wife and four boys. He runs away for seven days and expects not to be missed? It embarrasses me that someone of the better background and raised well would do something this stupid. Sanford became a dirtbag in my book after his hypocritical statements.
All in all they shouldn't have done it. They have/had wives and children. It really made me lose respect for all of them. How can you run a state or the country in Clinton's case and have time for: your wife and kids and an affair to go on the side with whatever "perks" they may be getting?

it is one thing for them to do it but what take most of them to the point of unforgivness is the lying to attemp to cover it up or in other cases the sheer hypocracy like with spitzer and sanford

Sanford now says that he had inappropriate contact with 5 other women. He also now says that the news reporter from Argentina is his soulmate and he will TRY to fall back in love with his wife. There are audio clips of his interveiw with someone (the name escapes me) playing all over FOX admitting it and several other things. My question is why an Argentinan? It's so dang long distance how could he think he'd keep it up? His wife didn't want him to tell either.
