The Sky. It was always such a beautifully painful thing for the mare to look at as she stood with four hooves planted firmly on the ground. The long blades of meadow grass tickled her legs as the breeze brushed her hair away from her face and neck. Pastel blue tipped feathers quivered under the soft breeze, as if squirming to spread out and fly into that wild blue yonder.
"Why can't I be normal..." She huffed softly, shaking her head as she continued to walk along the barren trail which held on one side a lush forest and the other a wide open meadow. How would she ever claim her independance from her parents if she couldn't seize the single most important asset of being a wind soquili...flying! She had been the only child of her parents to get the gift of her mother...yet sometimes she thought it would be more beneficial of her siblings to have them.
"They might use them..." She honestly was surprised they hadn't fallen off or soemthing...
"Well Zaiella....if you're ever going to go on grand adventures or simply move out from Mom and Dad's thicket, the sky is where you need to go!" narrowing her eyes in determination from her self proclaimed pep talk, the mare spread her wings out as wide as she could as she faultered slightly from the resistance she recieved from the wind.
Gulp.
"Okay...here we go..." Lunge......lunge.....a bit of hesitation....RUN! Bolting into the meadow, she began to flap her wings in a manic desperation untill, dear lord; the girl was airborn! "Ahhhhh, ohhhhhhhh my!" She yelped out, and continued to flap like some injured bird trying to stay airborn. Unfortunate for the mare, the wind up above the treelines was much stronger than that on the ground...making quick time of pushing the strugling mare over the trees and with a slow decent as she was quick to realize she didn't know how to even land. With a paniced cry, the oh so graceful mare flew right into a willow tree and quite efficiently became a utter tangled mess along the long vines. Ensnared and trapped hanging above the small forest stream, Zaiella felt as if she could cry out in defeat or utter frustration at this whole mess, at the mess which was her life.
"At least...no one is here to laugh at me." She sniffled, unable to even use her wing to wipe away the few teardrops which rolled down her cheeks. God she would be living with her parents till she was an elder at this rate!
