"Sikatcuath, love, do you mind? I'll never get you washed if you're running around like that," sighed Ariaen. Her green, Sikatcuath, was running around like a firelizard looking for food. The blonde girl shook her head, watching Hers run from one area to the next, her eyes a lovely shade of blue, something one didn't see much with Sika.
The green bounded up to Ariaen. But AriaenMine! It's so fun! Yours hasn't been outside in forever! The enthusiasm of her dragon truly scared her. Her being chipper was fine. Her ecstatic like this was just plain odd. Mine? Yours didn't mean to scare you. She is just very excited to be out of her home. Ariaen smiled at Sika. Always the one to pick up on Ari's moods.
She patted her on the head. "It's alright, love. Let's just get you wash, alright?" said Ariaen, rolling up her pants. The pair waded out just to where the water would come up to the middle of Ari's shins, as to not have the possibility of either, dragon or rider, drowning in the water. That would not be a good thing.

Just upon the beach of the lake, A'ras sprawled out over Cavaruth's hip and mid-section. His handsome form was barely covered by one thin loincloth while the oil that glistened his skin shined as much as the oil on his blue dragon in hopes for a perfect tan. It was the most perfect of moments when he and his dragon shared these times. He didn't even notice the little green bouncing over to the water with her young rider.
Cavaruth yawned very content to let his rider work on that tanned flesh. Their little ritual usually left them both feeling much more connected. However, one eye slid open as the green and rider toddled out into the water. Mmm...such a tiny green. So many young ones around now a days. The gold surely were making the rounds as the green looked to be hardly beyond her egg! Of course, she might be quite pretty once she grew a few wing spans...He chuckled to himself and pondered that moment but then put the thought aside and decided to learn a bit more.
"Hail, young one. How fare you and your rider this day?" he inquired with a slow sleepy tone.

Ariaen hadn't even noticed the large blue until Sika stopped moving. The green's eyes swirled a bit, and Ariaen placed a hand on her neck. The blue was huge, but that was to be expected from a full grown dragon, she supposed. He was quite the pretty blue color. Sikatcuath felt rather alright with the large blue near them. He was a male, so at least she wasn't dealing with all those stupid females. She also knew she was too small to do much of anything to him, except maybe bite his toes... maybe. But once she grew... oh, what the force to be reckoned with she would be.
We fair fine, Mine and I, large one. Just out for a bath in the sun. And you? she said, her eyes swirling back to a nice blue color. Ariaen sighed in relief, for now, and bowed her head to the large blue. Her green eyes flitted to the rider on the blue for a moment. What was he doing, tanning? Odd, Ariaen only thought the prissy little girls of the weyr did that.

"I, Cavaruth do well. My rider, A'ras naps while his skin improves its golden tan. He says it's quite relaxing and I would have to agree that the warm sun is very pleasurable on the hide." The blue stretched slowly rolling his upper torso bending around so he could see the two young ones just a little bit better and so not to disturb A'ras' deep relaxation. Although he knew that A'ras was always a bit sensitive when he started communicating with others. He doubted A'ras would sleep long but still he'd give his rider as much time as possible before nudging him.
Stretching his neck out, he cocked his head, "And what is your's and your rider's name, young one?" He could remember a time when he was sort of small, not nearly as small as the green before him but small enough to be waddling and stumbling behind A'ras turns ago. Glancing over at the female rider, his dragon like smile formed as he watched her looking at A'ras, "Is there something wrong, rider?"

Today was one of the rare days that Atosith could be seen walking in front of his rider, his head held high and a bit of a march to his step. U'ru strode easily behind the dark young blue, dressed for the shore. He had promised the youngster that if he behaved that he'd take him down and get a really good bath. Water being one of Atosith's undisputed favorite things, it didn't take a lot of effort to get the blue to agree. Sure enough, Atosith listened, kept his complaining down to a relative low, and did quite well for himself. Now he was off to get his reward.
"U'ruMine, can you please hurry up! I want to go swimming before my bath." His pace only slowly slightly, enough to let his lanky rider catch up to walk along his side.
U'ru smiled down to Atosith and rubbed the youngsters head. "We're almost there. The lake isn't going anywhere before we arrive, so don't fret, okay? I can hear the splashing now." The blue perked up a bit, his good mood brightening U'ru's own. He enjoyed the water just as much as his blue did since it helped cool him if he ever felt like he was just shy of bursting into flames or something.
At the sight of the shore, Atosith made a very happy, slightly out of character, trilling growl sound and trotted straight into the shallows. U'ru, wearing short pants that hovered about his knees, followed on his heels. For a few moments the young blue and his rider went back and forth in the water, chasing each other, dipping beneath the surface and seeing if they could pop up and surprise their other. The blue rider was first to notice the older rider laying atop a fully matured blue and one of Atosith's brood siblings and her rider. Atosith slowed to a stop in front of his rider and looked over at the others.
"Do we have to go say hello?"
U'ru laughed. "Well, I'd like to. It'd be polite. Besides, how often have you spoken to your clutchmates? Or get the opportunity to interact with an adult of your color?"
Atosith huffed softly before pausing for a length, then conceded with a slight nod. The little blue sank low into the water, the top portion of his head, back, and tail breaking the surface, and swam nearer to the others, U'ru following close behind. "Hello there..." The young blue directed at the dragons.
The rider smiled. "Atta boy, Atosith! See, it isn't so bad." he encouraged.

Sikatcuath let a small grin grace her face before replying. I am Sikatcuath, and this is AriaenMine. Mine, this is Cavaruth, and His A'ras, she said, before glancing behind her, her eyes wary. Ariaen jumped, not used to having another dragon talk to her.
"No... nothing is wrong, Cavaruth. I've just never seen a rider tan like that before... Sikatcuath, love what's... oh hello," said Ariaen, turning around to see one of Sikatcuath's clutchmates (at least she thought the tiny blue was her clutchmate) and his rider. Sikatcuath remained wary, but gave her clutch brother a nod of her head.
That's Atosith, I think Mine. Yours isn't sure who his rider is, though. He is one of the better blues, Yours has to say. Ariaen gapped at her green. Was she really sizing him up? She sighed and rolled her eyes. Something made her think that when her Flight came, it was going to be a hard fight for choice. To Atosith, Sikatcuath said, Hello.
Ariaen was stunned. Her little green seemed to be such at easy around the blues, not bitchy and angry at all. This was so weird...

"Mmm...a pleasure to meet you, Sikathcuath and...Ariaen." said Cav in a smooth warm tone. "Ah...well when your Sikathcuath is large enough you might enjoy such tanning, Ariaen. It is soothing to have my rider so at peace and near to me."
Cavaruth eyes whirled slightly as he turned his head to focus on the wee one in the water, his returned tone rather gentle and lazy considering the nice warm of the sun and his napping rider, "Hello to you, young one. I see you like to see how much you can hide in the blue water too. It was one of my favorite past times when I was small...still is...but...now its from the deeper water. I am Cavaruth...and this is my rider, A'ras." He leaned his head over towards his sleeping rider and nuzzled his head carefully.
Aras yawned and reached a hand up to brush away the big nose... "Ah..Cav." he yawned and muttered out loud. "Am I getting a burn?"
"No...but we have visitors." returned Cav with a warm blow of air out his nostrils gently coaxing his rider to rise. A'ras sighed and rubbed his eyes slowly opening them to view the world around him and finally seeing others were indeed around and finding out quickly from Cav, what he had missed, "Oh...hello, seems Cav already introduced us. Nice to meet you." His words went from sleepy to a charismatic smile in less that 5 seconds.

Atosith rose up to sit on his haunches in the water, positioning himself so he could easily see both of the dragons, slightly closer to his clutch sister than the older blue. His usually predominantly orange eyes whirled a bit of content green at the larger blue pointing out his fondness of the water and his trying to blend. Swimming and his bathtimes were a few of his preferred ways of spending his time. The young blue relaxed a bit more and felt more at ease when goofing off in the cool shining waters. He dipped his head to Cavaruth at learning his name and that of His. "My name is Atosith and that is U'ruMine. Mine, this is Cavaruth, His A'ras, Sikatcuath, and Hers Ariaen. I remember hearing her at the feast."
U'ru had followed Atosith through the water and stood about knee deep in the shallows, offering a wave to Ariaen and towards the stirring A'ras. "Good afternoon to all of you. How's the day treating you? It's a pleasure to meet you, Ariaen, A'ras. I'm U'ru, if Atosith hasn't introduced me yet." He stretched his arms over his head before interlocking his fingers at the base of his skull. "I intended for this to be bath time, but some swimming and socializing are always welcome."
"Don't worry. I did, Mine." Atosith looked to his clutch sister and nodded at her greeting. "I've not said so yet, but I'm glad you found Yours, Sikatcuath. You here for a bath too?" His swirling eyes looked upwards at the lounging blue. "Cavaruth, how long have you and Yours been together?" His rider often reminded him that he was special because he was the only blue of his clutch. It wasn't very often he saw older blues.

Ariaen highly doubted that. She wasn't one to tan by lazing around. Hard work tanned her, not sleeping. A'ras did ride a full grown blue, so they must have had more time to do this lazing around. Ariaen didn't do it; it wasn't what she was here for, and if she did, she'd be slumped in with all the prissy little girls who wanted to do that. That was something she never wanted to happen.
She turned her attention to U'ru, slightly surprised at his height. She herself was abnormally tall for a girl, but it was rare to find someone that much taller than her. It was kind of... cool. She gave U'ru a very rare smile, one that the boy probably wasn't ever going to see again. Not that she'd get snarky to him, it was just she never smiled except around Sikatcuath.
What, Atosith? You thought I wasn't going to? said Sikatcuath, her eyes swirling dangerously with orange and red. Ariaen put a hand on her neck, having seen the dragon's eyes. Calm, Sikatcuath love. The green wiggled her neck out from underneath her hand, eyes quite red now. Ariaen sighed and shook her head. It could be worse, she kept telling herself, she could going at the female dragonnets. It could be worse.

U'ru dipped his head in greeting to Ariaen, a brief smile mirroring her own. It wasn't often that he met a girl who was in the ballpark of his height. "How do?" He lowered his arms to loosely cross over his ribs, half covering the scar along his ribs. "Has the day been treating you well?"
Atosith's fiery eyes swirled a bit at his clutch sister's loaded questions. He wasn't much one to fight, at all, unless backed into a corner and it was necessary. "No, Sikatcuath. Not that at all. I'm glad to see that you and yours are fairing well. I meant no offense, sister." His tail curled slowly through the water, its forked tip creating twin trails rippling around him. "Pardon me if I have offended. I don't often speak with others, other than Mine. I find most others to be...I guess, too bothersome. There are relatively few who manage to get close." The dark blue dipped his head to her, keeping his eyes trained on her, gauging her reactions.
The rider knew his blue didn't fancy confrontations and he knew the young male was already rusty enough around females. He chuckled softly to himself. "Keep it steady, Atosith." The youngster looked to his rider, giving a His a bit of a look. "I am trying, U'ruMine."

Cavaruth returned warmly, "It is a pleasure to meet you Atosith and U'ru." His large eyes moved to focus on both of them as his rider stretched and sat up upon him. His tail slid up and across A'ras' legs knowing that the man might not be quite awake enough to slide down properly on his own.
As A'ras shook his head as he brought himself out of his nap, the charms in his braids chimed against each other with merry little sounds. "Ah...yes, as my Cav says, a pleasure to met the 4 of you." Stretched just a little then continued, "Oh bathing is important but I do agree with you, socialization skills are very important for young dragons to learn. Especially, when humans can be much more complicated than the dragons."
Cavaruth chuckled agreeing whole heartedly. "Yes, it took me many turns of studying you, A'ras. I still find you complex." Cav enjoyed these moments when he could tease his rider and nosed him just a little as A'ras stretched before glancing back over at Atosith. "Mmm...we have been together, 9 turns since my hatching."
He paused for just a second as the little green started to get flustered then flicked his tail just slightly in her direction to draw attention, "Young Sikatcuath, please do not assume that Atosith had poor intent. Inquire first before assuming...It makes for far better relations in the future with man and dragon. Especially, when you and your rider must fly with others in a wing."
A'ras smiled as slid down to his feet on the sands and relaxed against Cav after his blue repositioned himself. As difficult as relations had become in his new wing, it was probably the best advice Cav had given all week. Too bad they couldn't have applied it better themselves. Ah well...But these weyrlings would have plenty of time to learn about about Wing politics and...the other issues of the Weyr.
Rather than let the little green dwell too long on Cav's words he cheerful inserted a distraction that would tell him a bit about the two pairs... "So how's weryling life treating all of you? Please, tell us what you have learned so far? It's been awhile since Cav and I have been at any weyrling lessons and we are curious since there are so many new weyrlings how things are going." He was really curious about what they were being taught nowadays and what new riders were thinking about the Weyr. This was a good opportunity to look at the future of the Weyr.

Sikatcuath hissed softly, not needing to have the big blue tell her so. She looked at Atosith and said, Sorry, brother. It is... my nature at the moment. Just think, you could have been a green, and I would have probably snarled your head off. Count yourself luck you aren't. The green grinned at Atosith, swimming over to him. I like you, so you'll be spared my... my... anger issues, as Mine says.
Ariaen didn't mean to, but she looked him over unconsciously. He looked to be around her age, though the height could throw that guess off. "Mostly. Sikatcuath over there ripped apart a box in our weyr, running around. She has been surprisingly calm while out here, though. She is usually quite the hot temper. Maybe it is because there are males around?" she said with a shrug. Ari wasn't exactly sure why Sika was so calm, because it definately wasn't her thing.
Ariaen looked over at A'ras as he spoke. "It has been fine, I suppose. It's quite an experience living with a dragonnet who is pissed off at everything and anything, all the time. Though... I suppose that's how others see me..."

Cavaruth stretched out his wings for a short stretch then curled them back in to watch the 'kids' get to know each other better. He actually enjoyed being around the youngsters in the Weyr because usually they were clumsy and needed help especially the little greens. However, his 'helping behaviors were curbed by A'ras' being so close by. "So, young ones, how long have you been out of the shell...what do you think of this new world you're living in?" He remembered a time when he was still finding interest in small things about him. It was refreshing to see the same things showing in the small dragons.
A'ras tilted his head and glanced at the green, "Well, she might mellow out a little once she reaches maturity. It takes a little while for a dragon to learn how he or she fits into the Weyr and what's acceptable. However, to be honest, it takes a lot of work on the rider's part to change some deep rooted aspects." He ran his fingers along his long blond locks remembering all the sleepless nights as a weyrling trying to control some of Cav's worser habits. "So what have you been learning as Weyrlings? Who's your Weyrling Master?"

Atosith looked up at the Cavaruth as he spoke to Sikatcuath, blinking mostly neutral, and vaguely irked but still somewhat appreciative of the elder blue's words. He had wanted to handle things himself. His rider picked up on this, which caused U'ru to stifle a bit of a snicker and simply resigned himself to an amused smirk. The blue looked to his clutch sister as she spoke. He shook his head slightly, gently batting his wings through the water with a slightly straightened posture, which U'ru had come to surmise as the young dragon's version of a dismissive wave. "It is quite alright, sister. You need not apologize for your nature. It is who you are and it marks you as strong. Consider myself counted as lucky." His faceted eyes whirled a few light shades of green as Sikatcuath swam over. "I like you too. You seem to be one of those that I won't mind. So, you're lucky too. I don't mind issues. Mine and I like to listen. Mine helps me by listening. I can too."
The young blue's rider dipped his head to Cavaruth and his now awake rider. U'ru nodded as Ariaen spoke, his amused smirk shifting to a bit of a grin. "Sounds like a blast. Atosith has taken to finding all of the places he can hide in over in our weyr. I'm still scratching my head as to how he managed to get into my trunk and make himself a bit of a nest to nap in. " He shifted his normally dark gaze towards the two young dragonets in the water. "He isn't normally so social. I imagine its because he feels more relaxed when in the water." U'ru rolled his shoulders in an odd half shrug. He looked to A'ras and gave a bit of a chuckle. "That's definitely something I'm working hard on." The nearby Atosith snorted at his rider, making a point to be keenly interested in his clutchmate and ignoring his general area for the time being.
The dark youngster looked from A'ras to Cavaruth. "Yours has hair that sounds sort of like rain," he pointed out curiously. His never put anything in his hair, perhaps because it was relatively short, but His wasn't much one for many adornments. "Mine says that its been several sevendays." He paused and looked about him. "Too many eyes. I like our weyr. It's quiet and away from crowds. I like the water and rain. Mine and I are learning fast." He nodded, puffing out his little chest to cement his statement. Atosith looked to Sikatcuath, "And you? I bet you know much, sister."
'Weyrling life has thus far treated me as well as can be expected. Can be difficult, but always rewarding. I wouldn't change a thing. It's an experience that I don't intend on cutting out on." U'ru made a reflective sound as he mulled over the things they had been learning. "Feeding the youngsters, cleaning them, distinguishing our emotions from theirs. That sort of thing. Pretty much what has always been taught, I suppose."

A'ras nodded slowly considering the words. Well, for as young as the weyrlings were the selections of teachings were probably the right choices. Sometimes he had to wonder, if the weyrlings truly had enough specialized attention. However, he wasn't a 'teacher' so maybe he wasn't the best person to judge such things. Either way, it seemed that the two dragonets in the water were in much more pleasant moods in each others company. A'ras found that privately to be a good thing because these two dragonets had a few obvious issues that might be tough in the future without some solid social skills. "I bet you both will be looking forward to when your dragon can hunt for themselves...and learning how to make your first riding straps. It will all start coming pretty quick because your little dragons will grow up very quickly."
Cavaruth rubbed his nose along his side before answering the youth, "It does sound like rain. My rider's partners find them attractive...at least that is what he tells me." He snorted just a little, "Its hard to have any privacy in the Weyr nowadays, but once you get your wings to the sky you can see the world and find places to perch overlooking the ocean and mountains. When you are big enough, you should convince your rider to explore with you. A'ras loves to travel so we have been to almost every hold and have found numerous private places to perch. I think he intends to have place to hang his hat all over Pern."
