The small blue lioness was looking more like a mud brown lioness today. She was covered almost up to her ears in mud from exploring the vast terrian that was the swampie lands. Despite the coverage of mud, the cub hadn't wandered to far out in the swamp. There were parts that were just to deep for a small cub to wade through.
Still the cub made an effort to get as far as she could and it had taken its tole on her colorful blue pelt. Tahki couldn't care less though. What fun was exploring a swamp if you couldn't take a little mud for the team?
Now she sat in the mud and just watched a passing turtle make its rounds. Course she couldn't just watch it, the cub was on all fours following it in no time.
However, she wasn't watching her footing or where she was headed. With out knowing what hit her, the cub had fallen into a murky stream of water and mud. The problem was Tahki didn't know how to swim and she was flailing and gurgling and ," HELP !! HELP!!!" She cried as she spit and sputtered in the stream.

Kona had been wandering the swampie lands and exploring as well. His white coat had spots of mud covering it, but he didn't mind so much. He was just glad to be outside and away from his family for a little while.
As he wandered through the wet and muddy lands, he heard a faint voice. Someone was in trouble?
And it was a girl?!
He had to go rescue her!
Kona ran over to where he heard the voice. He saw a small female cub struggling in the water, and he quickly ran over and jumped in. He pushed her up onto the shore, since he had trained himself to swim recently. He wasn't very good, but he was good enough to at least stay above the water.
"Are you alright?" He asked, breathing heavily.

Tahki had given up hope of some one finding her when something knocked her right out of the water and onto the marshy solid land. The cubs breathing was heavy and thick as she laid there for moments that felt like hours. She felt lucky and glad that some one had come to her rescue.
Slowly, the cub turned to her side to face her rescuer, still breathing heavily. To her surprise, her rescuer was Suzu? No, this cub was a boy but the two looked so much alike. Her mind was still a little slow from the shock of almost drowning but she just stared before spitting out how she was.
"Fine..." She panted ," Im... fine." With that she took one long drawn breath and let out a sigh.
"You.. you saved me. " Tahki smiled glad that there were more exploring cubs in this pride.

Kona shook the water out of his fur, then sat down. "What were you doing, ma'am?" He asked, looking at her with a frown and concern. "It's very dangerous to be out here alone!" He felt strange saying this, since his mother had said it to him before, and he had shrugged it off.
"Oh, it was nothing." He said with his patented, charming grin. "I just did what anyone would have." He was glad that it had been a female, and one his own age! What luck! And as the mud dripped from her coat, he noticed how lovely her markings were.
Lady luck definitely looked down upon him today!
"I'm Kona." He said, his smile never leaving. "What's your name?"

The females ears lowered some at the lecturing. She was sure her mother would give one similiar if she had seen how far out in the swamp the cub had venuted. But wait a minute, this boy was out in the thick of the swamp too. But then again, he knew how to swim at least.
"I was exploring," The cubs tone was a little low and ashamed. But her mood quickly bounced back up as the other started to grin.
"Kona eh? Well, you really saved my butt back there..." Her eyes were on her paws, still a little ashamed. "My names Tahki..." Slowly her eyes looked back up, meeting the others shyly. The male had a kind eyes and melted Tahki's shame a little giving her a little bit more of her bold persona back.
"What about you? What are you doing way out here?" That was something that was still pawing at the back of her mind.

Kona smiled at her, "It's no problem, really." He said, a little bashful himself now. He pushed it away though as he realized she was opening up a little more.
"Oh, me? I was wandering around as well. But at least I can swim." He winked at her, letting her know he was only teasing.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Tahki." He said with his charming smile back in place. "I've never seen you around the swamp lands. And I know of all the lovely ladies, if I don't know you it would just be a crime." He grinned again.

Tahki grinned wider being called a lovely lady. That wasn't something she had heard before, but then again, the only males she had been around were her brothers. It would be a little eerie if one of them refered to her in such a manner.
Tahki waved away the teasing and the compliment trying her best not to fall under the males charm. He was charming, and it was hard for the cub not to be all smiles around such charmer.
"So, " Tahki grinned, "You think you can teach me how to swim?" It seemed be a useful skill and would only further her adventuring skills. "After all, a great adventurer needs such skills to go further into the swamp." Tahki winked playfully.

Kona smiled brightly, chuckling softly. "I bet I could. It seems like you could be a natural, if I just give you a few pointers." He winked back, wondering if his charms were working at all on her.
Sometimes girls would reject him completely right from the start, others got horribly shy and uncomfortable, and others flirted right back at him. But this Tahki was different. He couldn't really put his paw on it.
"Wanna give it a try?" He asked, tilting his head in the direction of the water they had just come out of.

((I think they hit it off well! <3 I'd like for them to have a lasting relationship. :3 Like, they meet a few times and then when they're adults they're like, heeeey I likes you. xD))
Kona grinned at her when she accepted his offer. He stood up and walked over to the waters edge, examining it as if this is what you had to do before swimming.
But suddenly she was in the water, splashing around and he thought for a second that he would have to save her again. But then she stood up embarrassed, and he laughed softly, unable to control it.
"Well, we should probably start in water that's a little deeper." He said with his charming grin. "Come over here." " We wadded out into deeper water, so that it was up to his chest.

Tahki couldn't hide the red on her face but it didn't really matter. Tahki simply nodded and waded in after Kona so that the water was now up to her chest. The water licked at her with a calm coolness that felt good against her skin. More of the caked on mud seemed to seep away as the calm swamp water licked at her pelt.
"Alright teach," Her smile widened, "So show me how this is done." It couldn't be that hard, could it? Water was much thinner the mud but at the same time the two shared some similarities. Maybe?
Her pink eyes showed a bit of unease as the thoughts swam through her head. Thoughts mostly of how things could go wrong. Tahki didn't like the almost drowning experience. Not one bit. ((Yeah x 3 Sounds good <3))

Kona smiled. He liked the nickname, and he watched as she slid into the cool water. "Okay, so what you do is move your paws like you're running, but not as fast." He said, demonstrating the technique to her. He lifted his paws and started to float, but before he sank he moved them to show to her how it was done.

Tahki did as she was instructed. Low and behold the teaching worked! Uh oh, she moved her paw again so she wouldn't sink, and then again. In no time the cub was , sorta, swimming. The lion would need to work on her skill but at least she was floating?
"Hey look!" Tahki smiled at Kona, "Im doing it! Im really doing it!" And then the cub tripped up in the water and went under again.
Bubbles could be seen, and then her head poked back up. Distress was clear on her face from the event.

Kona couldn't help but laugh a little when she went back under, although he went to her side to make sure she was okay. When he realized that she was unharmed, he smiled charmingly and began to swim next to her.
"See?It's not that hard." He said with a nod. He swam under water, then underneath her. He popped up on her other side with a grin.
Kona swam over to the waters edge and pulled himself up. He shook off and looked up at the sun. It was dusk already? He cursed inwardly and looked at his new friend. His mother had told him to be home before dusk, and now he would be in trouble. "I have to go, I'm sorry!" He said with sincere sadness. He really enjoyed spending time with Tahki. "I hope we'll see each other again." He said with a big smile. He turned and scurried away, thoughts of the day floating happily through his head. It was definitely worth the punishment from his mother.

Tahki figured she probably be getting back to her family too any ways. She managed to wade over to the edge of the small pool and drag her self out. It was no easy task but she managed. Swimming... something she'd have to work on.
Kona was already gone it seemed. To late to say good bye but she wasn't sad. The two probably would see each other again some day. They lived in the same swamp after all. For now good bye was an open ended door way. Tahki was perfectly fine with that.
She her self scurried back to her mother and siblings excited she had met someone knew and fun. What stories she'd have to tell.
