Tiresias had been moping about, as usual. He had escaped from his father for the time being, glad to have gotten away from him. He resented his father for the fact that he thought the older leopon was keeping him away from his mother on purpose. The young cub didn't realize that his mother was literally off limits to any male, due to her pride's rules.
But young Tiresias didn't know this, or understand it when his father tried to explain it to him. So, he was left sulking in his own thoughts on the plains. He had found a small watering hole and had chased away the birds that had been lazing about there. He began lapping at the water, quenching his thirst. Afterward he laid down by the waters edge, just watching his own reflection and the fish swimming through it.

Pilate was out and about on her usual wandering habit. This was a cheetah that just couldn't stay put in one place for to long, she always had to move and explore new places.
Birds shooting into the sky alerted the small cheetah juv to some activity happening close by. Of course, being Pilate, she treaded quietly over to see what was up. Her curiousity paid off , a small black leopard like lump of a creature was laying by the watering hole.
Being naive, as Pilate was, the juv never really considered the fact that one could get hurt going up to strangers and saying howdey do. She was a creature that believed in the good of others and had a hard time picturing anyone wanting to do harm to her.
So the cheetah approached, training her large pink eyes on the black lump of a creature.
"Hey! Are you alright?"

Tiresias jumped when he heard the voice, and he stood up quickly. The fur on the back of his neck stood up and he glared at the shape behind him. "What's wrong with you?! You shouldn't just go sneaking up on people like that!" He said with a snort, sitting back and and trying to calm his nerves. He obviously had a short fuse.
"And of course I'm alright, did I look like anything was wrong?" He said with a huff, shaking himself off to smooth his fur. He had never met someone so... bright before. He was brutally honest with everyone though.
"What are you, anyway? I've never seen someone so... blindingly bright." He said with a raised eyebrow.

The cheetah could have stumbled back wards in how surprised she was at the black lumps reaction. Her mouth was slightly gaped open in her surprise that showed in her reaction. She shifted back to a normal stance realigning her self in a sturdy position.
"I'm .. a cheetah?" She was still a little shocked that such a small cub could have such a demanding personality. It wasn't a bad thing , it was just a surprise. Though the cheetah had a few questions of her own.
"What about you? I don't think I've seen anything like you before. What are you?" The radio active cheetah lowered her head some, peering at the strange cub. She couldn't put her paw on it, but there was something none leopard about him. He was something completely new to the this cheetah.

Tiresias raised an eyebrow at her. So, she was a cheetah? His father had only briefly mentioned cheetahs to him before. All he knew was that they were very fast, and that lions usually didn't get along with them much.
"Oh, so you're a cheetah then? I've never met one before." He said matter of factly. At her question, he straightened his shoulders a little. "I'm a hybrid. Leopard and lion mix." He said with a nod. He knew that not all animals accepted hybrids, but he wasn't ashamed of his breeding. On the contrary, he was proud to be different.
"So, what's your name? And what brings you here? Don't you have any family?" He asked bluntly. He was definitely not afraid to ask questions.

Pilate relaxed a little as she sat on her haunches. Her pink eyes studdied his built some more til she finally saw the lion mixed in. The leopard for some reason had been more obvious.
"Lion and leopard mix? Thats awesome! " The cheetah gave the other another friendly bright smile. "I'm just pure cheetah. Nothing that exciting like that, but thats really awesome!"
She'd have been more bouncy, physically about her excitment, but the truth was she was tired from her day of wandering aimlessly. Pilate needed a sit down and maybe some water. What luck the little fire cracker of a hybrid was right by a water hole.

Tir nodded a little at her. "Yes, I suppose it is 'awesome'." He said with a shrug. "Although, I don't really see much about it that is. It's just how I am." He shrugged yet again.
"And you're all cheetah? That's... nice, I suppose." He wasn't much for small talk.
He could tell that the young cheetah was weary, and he moved so she could get to the waters edge easier. He sat back down a few feet away, not trying to be nice really, just doing what he thought he should. "So do you travel with anyone, or are you alone?"

Pilate made her advance to the watering hole. Her mouth had started to get that cotton feel that it got when one was thirsty. She bent over the water and took slow, long, laps of cool fresh water. The water went down smooth and cold as Pilate greedily lapped it up like it was the last water she'd ever drink.
When she finished, the cub turned to the dark leopon cub and tilted her head. "Companions? Nope, today its just me I'm afraid." Though she did have a home to return to at the end of the day. Pilate would just aimlessly wander the plains on her own, not always the smartest thing you could do when you were so small.
"What about you? Are you traveling on your own too?" Her face was completely serious as she asked it. The concept of a young cub traveling alone wasn't farfetched to this cub since she had taken care of her self most of her young life.

Tiresias was a little surprised at that. He had had no idea that she was an orphan, although he knew they existed of course. He felt a little twang os sympathy for her. Although he knew his father, he knew what it was like to grow up without a mother, an d he also didn't know his sister.
"I am very sorry to hear that." He said, his voice sincere for once. "I know what it's like to grow without a mother, but, at least I have my father to hunt for me, I suppose." He said with a slight shrug.
"And having someone that adopted you is more than a lot of orphaned cubs can say." He said with a small smile, hoping to cheer her up some.

The change in the cubs attitude almost made the cheetah fall over on her side in surprise. But still, she was glad for the kindness and gave the other a warm hearted smile and even purred. Her heart felt like a luke warm coal for a small moment.
"Thank you," she purred to the other, not really sure why she said that out loud. "Errmm, " The cheetahs eyes shifted from one side to the other for one moment as she thought. "No need to be sorry , its just how things are. I'm glad for my sister," Pilate gave the cub a small nod.
"I'm sure your mother and sister think about you. I can't think of a creature that would be that cold not to love a piece of them selves." Pilate had an optimistic naive view of things.
The grass moved slowly and not from the wind. Something else was in the tall grass making its way towards the cubs. With a soft hop it out into the open it was revealed a that it was only a rabbit. Pilates eyes focused on it but the rabbit disappeared into brush as soon as it caught sight of the two cubs.
"... you want to go hunt a rabbit?"

Tire looked at the rabbit as it hopped away, but he had eaten that morning and his small cub belly was still full. "I don't think so. I'm not hungry, and I don't like to kill things if I'm not." He said with a shrug. He wasn't trying to be mean or condescending, he just liked to state facts.
"Actually it's getting kind of late, I should return to my den." He said with a nod. "But it was a pleasure talking with you, miss Pilate. Perhaps our paths will cross again someday." He lowered his head in a respectful bow, then stood and walked away towards his den.

Pilate smiled and mimicked the bow best she could. It was awkward, but she managed. What a strange greeting.
"Alright ~" She smiled at the other, "See you later then ~" The small green cub did another awkward bow before scurrying after the rabbit that had disappeared.
