I got this off of a witch hunter robin site and found it interesting..here's what I found:

Witch Hunter Robin and Ogham:
above, left: A circle being used to trap Robin
above, right: From a 14th century Irish Manuscript - an Ogham Wheel.
The only difference between the two is the addition of a rune (Halagaz) in the centre of Robin's circle.

So what was Ogham?
Ogham was a system of writing used by the celts and other gaelic peoples, and consisted of one or more lines crossing a main line.
Ogham is also known as Beith-Luis-Nion, after the names of three significant letters in the alphabet, and consists of 25 characters - 20 after the sacred trees and a further five added at a later point in time.

The letters were arranged in five Aicmes, the first three for the original 15 consonant sounds, the fouth for the vowels and the last Aicme for the five added sounds.
Most Ogham writings are carvings on stone, which led to the belief that they were graves of a sort, or memorials (both to people and battles, etc), but this has never been proven.
Besides the druidry relating to the twenty sacred trees, which all have their own meanings, Ogham is not strongly related to witchcraft. I think it was chosen to be in WHR purely for aesthetic and stylistic reasons.

and that's about it!..here's a few cool links that came, too:
