She had wandered far from her new homelands. It was strange to Uzuri, calling a place 'home.' She had left early, near the break of dawn, to set out to find someone. Someone she dearly missed, and wanted to be a part of her life.
With a cool breeze blowing through her fur, she could smell them. She could smell the family she was looking for; their den must be nearby. Searching and searching, the large family wasn't overly hard to track down. Her tail was still as she neared the den, anxious of her reception.

Ade pouted, laying on top of a boulder he had recently decided was his. The wild dog was bored and lonely and he really wanted to do something. Jua was always busy with something or other and Uzuri.... Well, he hadn't seen the female in a good while. In fact, it'd been waaaaay too long since he'd seen his blue friend and he really missed her. Missed her more than he did with any of his other friends. Adejola really didn't understand exactly why, but he knew that he really, really, really missed her. And he wanted her back.The canine whined pitifully in boredom and rolled over onto his back, staring across the land with an upside down view.

Her body covered with shivers from the impending meeting, Uzuri's ears flicked back-- a sound. It was in her nature to be suspicious of any sound, especially one so close to the dwelling of her favorite family.
Eagerly ducking away from the entrance to the den, Uzuri wandered around to the side, where the sound seemed to be originating from. She eyed the boulder, oblivious to what sat on it, for the shades of brown all seemed to blend together.
A smell. It lingered in the air, and forced her to move in closer, her eyes locked on the rock. When she was less than a foot away, she finally realized, spotting the hint of orange that seemed misplaced. She felt foolish for not realizing who it was, but speechless at the same time. She hadn't the slightest idea of what to say.

The adolesant had closed his eyes, so it wasn't until Uzuri was very near that he noticed that someone was approaching. The wild dog frowned and returned to his stomach before he opened his eyes and then let out a grin as he spotted the blue fur. "Uzuri!!" He cried, leaping down from his boulder and nuzzling his friend. "Where've you been? I missed you! I mean, I came looking for you but I couldn't find you and I was worried. Jua's been really boring lately so I've been soooo bored without you and I missed you!" The canine rambled, again nuzzling the female before, without thinking, he gave her a lick on the cheek.

Surprised by the greeting she received, Uzuri's white face lit up in a shade of red. "Uh...uh..." she couldn't seem to find the right words to say. She turned away, trying to regain her composure.
"Ade, I missed you too." she shook herself, looking back at him with a smile. She leaned in and nuzzled his face, not wanting the moment to end. "I went away for a little while....." she backed away from him, needing to discuss a pressing matter.
"Ade, please come back with me?" she looked at him, a pleading look in her eyes. She wanted to explain more, to spend more time with him here, but she feared her time would be limited. I mean, they could always have fun together on the way back, right? Her stomach was in knots, not wanting to be seperated from him for another moment. "I don't want to leave you." she tilted her head to the side, casting a downward glance to the ground.

He blushed as well, but smiled and moved as close as he could to her without being too forward. But when she backed away, the canine paused in confusion. "Come...back? What are you talking about, Uzuri?" Adejola asked, his tail slowing. "You mean back to your den?" Well sure, he could go back to play with her, but why was she acting so hesitant about asking?

Uzuri looking away from him again; she felt so strange, like the moment was fading away. "No, Ade. Not back to my den." her eyes eased, and a small smile crept onto her face. "Ade....a lot has....happened. Since I last saw you." she leaned her head on his for a moment, gathering her thoughts.
"Ade, someone came to us. He wanted to....to start a pack." she felt her confidence coming back. She was certain that now that he knew her reasons and why she had left, he wouldn't turn her down....right?
"I told him...." she moved her head to the side quickly, nuzzling Ade once more, for encouragement. "I told him I'd lead it with him." There. It seemed like she had spat the words out like unwanted food. But she was happy with her position. The only thing she wanted was....
"Ade, please." her eyes met with his as she paused. "I...I-I really l-l-like you, Ade." she turned her head towards the ground, her face hot with embarassment.

Adejola frowned in confusion. "You mean....leave my family?" He asked softly, taking a step back from Uzuri, his eyes wide. "But.... But... Uzuri, I really, really like you too, but...." The canine sent a look back toward his den where his family rested. "What about Jua? I mean... I can't just leave..." He was torn. On one side, he knew that if Uzuri left again, forever, he'd miss her so bad it'd hurt but on the other side, leave his family? His home? Everything? The adolesant's tail lowered as he tried to figure out which was more important and his face showed his inner conflict. "Uzuri, I.... I don't want you to leave again, but..." He whimpered, nuzzling her again. "What about my family?"

She knew it. She could feel it, as a weight pressed harder on Uzuri's chest. She didn't want to leave empty handed, without him, but it was almost a situation she had come to accept. "Ade..." she tried to smile, but found it increasingly difficult.
"I-I...." her eyes darted frantically across the boulder he lay upon, searching for answers. Her gaze found itself headed towards the den, thinking of the family she had heard so much about in all her time knowing the twins. That family, they cared for him as much as she did, but she wasn't ready to let go.
"Can't....I mean...." her proposition was slow to come out, and she began to stutter nervously. "Can't they....come....too?" she pleaded with him using her eyes, wanting so badly for everything to turn out right.

Ade hesitated but soon gave a hesitant nod. "I don't think that'd be a problem..." He nuzzled her, licking her ear. "Uzuri, I really want to come with you, but I don't want to just leave them. I at least want to say goodbye, okay?" The canine sighed softly. "Where are we going anyway? I know you said you started a pride, but where?" He sighed, nuzzling her again. The canine still wasn't exactly sure what to do.

It was such a relief, hearing those words. The warmth of his tongue eased Uzuri, and she let out a sigh.
"We found a place," she thought of her new homeland fondly; it had rivers, and lots of grass-- it was an amazing place. She could always find a place to get away from the hecticness of it all. "it's near that group of cheetahs. The Duma something." Uzuri had never made it a point to know the names of prides and coalitions; it was just not something that interested her. The only thing of that sort she ever worried about were other packs, and there were none near where they had chosen to live.
"I think...." she looked over towards the den, nuzzling Ade. "it's a good place for families." she froze; she had originally only been thinking of his family, but the mention of the plural made her think of a family of her own. It brought a warm feeling to her, yet she felt overly awkward standing next to Ade thinking about such a thing.

Adejola smiled at Uzuri and nuzzled against her. "It sounds wonderful." He whispered, laying his head over her neck. "I really missed you." The male added, giving her a tender lick on the neck. "Uzuri, promise you won't leave again without telling me? I really... I don't know how to expain it... I... Promise?" What exactly this feeling he felt with her, he didn't know, but he knew that being with Uzuri made him very happy. "I'll talk to my family and I'll ask them to come, but... But I think even if they don't come and I miss them, I think I'd miss you more if I stayed here without you..."

She felt strange, with his head over her neck, but not in a bad way. It was something she wasn't used to, and only saw her 'mother' and her 'boyfriend' do, or something mothers did with pups. "I promise, Ade." she was breathing deeply, trying not collapse. All this, it made her feel weak and anxious.
Moving her head up near his neck, she closed her eyes. "Ade, I want you to be a part of my life, forever." her knees felt weak and she turned away from him, having a lingering fear of rejection from the one person she had grown close to.

Adejola blinked at her confession and pulled his head away to stare down at her before he gave a warm smile and replaced it across her neck. "I feel the same way, Uzuri. I can't imagine life without you. I don't want to. It's too painful to think of not being with you. I... I love you, Uzuri. I really do." He wagged his tail and nuzzled against her.
