Falling back upon his wandering nature, Mauja took leave of his 'temporary company' and roam about for a bit, looking for new entertainment before he was forced to take on responsibility.
His ears twitched as the soft breeze drifted through his short mane, moving around to zero in on any movement. He hadn't quite determined whether this would be part hunting trip or not yet-- his lean frame meant he didn't eat much, and wasn't compelled by the feeling of hunger.
He spotted an area of brush, and decided to lurk while safely inside its shade. There was a herd of gazelle on the other side, oblivious to his presence, but he wasn't planning on going after them, anyway.

Poromoko was, as always, wandering around. She was really starting to like it out here. She was meeting so many strange and interesting creatures! First the lion who had the mountain pelt, an oddity like herself, and then that green cheetah who had raced with her.
Yes, this was a lot more fun than home had ever been.
She was walking today, instead of running, enjoying the height of the sun and the scenery around her. Unaware of the other cheetah lurking in the brush, she spotted some gazelle in the distance and crouched. Was she hungry enough to hunt?
Not really.
But she ran at them anyway, whooping and having fun as they scattered wildly in their efforts to escape her. She managed to catch one just because it fell, and started to drag it back to the shade.

The sound of beating hooves made Mauja search for what had made them run. His ears twitched as he heard the sound of something else, chasing the herd. His eyes scanned through the mixes of browns, finally pinpointing a blue and green cheetah, running behind them.
It was intriguing, watching the other cheetah. She didn't seem to be actively hunting, just running after them. It wasn't wholely unheard of, but he himself had never chased something for the sheer fun of it.
He raised himself from his cool shade, gently trotting down towards the other animal. Maybe he could have some fun? I mean, this other cheetah seemed like she might be worth his while to hang out with for awhile.

Poro was having a hooting good time, running after the fleeing meals on hooves, snapping when she got close to one and letting it dart away. She was running her hardest, but not to hunt. All she wanted to do was give herself a bit of exercise.
And she certainly succeeded.
By the time all the gazelle had scattered in random directions, Poro was exhausted. She sat down heavily, panting like a hyena more than a cheetah, tongue hanging out as she noticed all too keenly how hot the savannah was. She turned when she heard something approaching, thinking it another prey beast, and tilted her head when she spotted the cheetah padding her way.
Pulling her tongue back into her mouth, she grinned at him.
"I didn't just chase off your dinner, did I?" She said, not sounding particularly apologetic.

Watching the chase from a far had been, well, interesting, to say the least. Mauja still couldn't understand why exactly one would want to run all that way then come out of it without food.
To everyone his own, Mauja supposed.
Looking down, Mauja let out a laugh; he was in a surprisingly calm mood today, not causing too much trouble for any lions that may have crossed his path.
"Dinner?" he rolled his eyes to the side, watching the remnants of the herd flee from his vision. "Well, even if I was planning on eating them, it's too late for that now." he felt around on the ground with his paws briefly, then decided to plop himself down next to the oddly colored female. "And where might you be from, princess?" he stared at her, a smile breaking on his maw.

"Princess? Not likely. I'm not from anywhere and, if you were going to ask next, not going anywhere, either. And that's just the way I like it."
She tilted her head at him, letting her breathing even out after all the exertion. She wondered what he had been doing, then, if not wanting to hunt. Or maybe he meant he had wanted to, and she had, indeed, ruined it. Oh well, if he wasn't going to tell her he was mad about it, she wasn't going to beg for it. Of course, she had just been the one to randomly chase food without wanting to eat it, so her odd thought process was already evident.
She smiled at him then, almost sweetly.
"And what about you, Prince?"

"I'm just a roaming noble, with no friends to accompany me." Mauja struck a pose, playing off what the female cheetah had said. He was quick to allow a smirk to pass onto his maw, his eyes looking down upon her.
"Well then, sweetheart, why are you chasing food like a silly thing?" he moved his tail over, so that it gently ran against her face. He was actually partially interested in why she was out here, using up her valuable speed for a....game? "You know, if I had been a mean old lion, I would've just eaten you right up." Lifting his paw, he briefly touched it against her nose, laughing a bit as he did so.

Poro grinned. So he was going to play along, was he? She liked that. Usually she met sticks in the mud, who weren't interested in her joking around. They thought she was too immature, but she hardly agreed. She was just a youthful spirit: that in no means indicated that she was not a full adult.
She just liked to have fun.
"I wasn't being a silly thing, cuddles, I was just having some fun," she wrinkled her nose at his tail, but kept her head in place. She wasn't going to lose any ground, even in such a small way, "sometimes I like to unwind, and the best way I know how is to run. If I have something to chase, that makes it better."
Laughing, she shook her head, "you couldn't eat me, even if you were a lion. I'm not scared of those guys, so you've got no chance. Anyway, you're not a lion. Don't be a silly thing."

Cuddles? This was turning out to be more fun than Mauja could've predicted. Usually, others simply gawked at his antics, with a brow raised and their mouths gaping. Or they beat him with a stick. But that was generally only when he played with the boys.
They just didn't know how to have a good time.
"Well well well, aren't we brave?" He raised a brow to her and smirked, liking her apparent fearlessness. Although he wasn't afraid of lions, he knew when to run.
"So, darling, what else do you do to unwind?"

Poro laughed, shaking her head.
"I wouldn't call it brave- no, you know what? I totally would. I'm a brave adventurer, now that I'm on my own and allowed to be whatever I want. Does that intimidate you, fluffy? I like it when guys are intimidated."
Sighing, she took a moment to consider his question. All this playing was great, but it wouldn't do any harm to say something truthful inside all the goofing around.
"If I'm not running, I'm probably sunning myself. Those are my two favorite things. I'm going to go ahead and guess at yours. Talking to pretty ladies?"

"I'll be intimidated if you want me to be." Mauja smirked, flicking his tail back and forth anxiously. "I like it when girls are intimidating." His eyes were aimed straight at hers, never blinking.
"So you admit that you're pretty." He let out a small laugh, reassessing her question. He inhaled deeply, moving to a more serious persona. "I wouldn't say I just talk to pretty ladies. I only talk to them if they're interesting." His eyes glided over to her general direction, a smirk creeping back onto his face. "I try not to affiliate myself with dull girls, no matter how pretty they are." He ran the tip of his tail under her chin, smiling at her.

Poro was sitting with her head high, chest out, tail flicking as she wrapped it around her legs. She purred a bit, a light, bird chirp of a sound, tilting her head at him either in challenge or in languid ease. It was strange how blurred the line between the two was with her.
"I do admit that, very readily," she said without hesitance.
Smiling, she nodded at his words. She didn't mind being called interesting. It wasn't the worst thing she'd heard, after all. If someone found her interesting it was often a mixture of good and bad things. Sometimes she was interesting because she was irritating, others because she was charming. She was getting the feeling it wasn't the former that kept her new company talking to her.
"Well, I only assumed pretty girls because you're a bit of a flirt," she accused plainly, "I didn't think you were a 'brains' kind of guy. But then, maybe that's not what you mean by interesting. Either way, I apologize for being presumptuous." She grinned.

Running his tongue along the inside of his mouth, Mauja smiled. He was having fun, a rare occurence for him as of late, especially with all of the mean creatures that had been wanting to bother him as he went 'flying.'
"I'm glad you're so confident with yourself." He grinned; confidence was something he adored in others, regardless of their gender. A shy creature was just dull, and conversations with them were close to impossible.
"A bit of a flirt?" He raised an eyebrow at the female, smiling at the obvious truth. Her comment about his brains made him all warm and fuzzy on the inside. "I suppose you're saying that I look good?" Laughing heartily, he shifted his position, so he could analyze this cheetah further. "Well, let's start making statements about yourself. Shall we?"

"Well, with a pelt like mine you're either bound to be confident, or live your life in isolation. I take being strange in stride, and I own it. But it's a beautiful kind of strange, and there's nothing I can do about that but own it."
She grinned again, though this one wasn't as playful as it was coy.
Watching him, she tilted her head.
"I'd rather you make statements about me. Good or bad. I can take it. I've already colored you a flirt and a brain. You got it right about me being confident. I wonder what else you can deign from just looking at me and this little bit of conversation?"

"And you own it well, love." His eyes moved down her body, taking a closer look at the scenery that seemed to be painted on it. He didn't find it too strange, though it did have a way of standing out.
"Ah, well, it's better if we talk about the pretty girl." Mauja smiled, thinking back to everything she had said before. She seemed....rough? Or rather, she wasn't a prissy little thing. "Well, you seem like a free spirit, chasing after all those gazelle like a silly thing." He grinned, biting his bottom lip. "And you like creatures like me." He let out a laugh, half poking fun at himself. "Otherwise, you would'nt still be here."
