She was late. Late. Late. LATE! There couldn't possibly be another word that existed to give better emphasis on the fact she had been without her so-called friend for far, far too long.

The mostly black coated mare stomped an aggitated hoof into the ground, eventually deciding that pawing the otherwise delicious grass held more satsifaction than mere stomping. How many months had flown by without her partner? "Just leave that pest of a stallion to me, I'll do him in for good", the Reya quoted aloud, filling every word with distaste and mockery. Why on earth had she trusted Evelaune to take care of such an important task by herself?

Because, the Aeri mare she romped around with was quite possibly the most terrifying creature she had ever hung around with. Dailondra felt an unsettled chill crawl down her spine as she thought of her... partner. She must have heard Eve's philosiphy on life many times since they met, and seen it put into action more times than she cared to remember. Now sure, Dailondra wasn't skitish when it came to blood and death, but Eve- well that mare was on a totally different level.

She supposed that's why she loved the wicked Aeri mare as much as she did, and had trusted her to take care of their biggest problem at the time; Valious. That goody-two-hooved Aeri stallion always stuck his nose into their business. "Hurting innocents for your own gain is wrrooong", the black Reya mouthed mockingly in a high-pitched, whinny voice, ending with a snort of disgust. What an idiot he had been to defy both Eve and herself. What a god-damned fool to think he could beat them.

And yet, why hadn't Eve returned months ago after completing the task of disposing him? ... And why was her gut twisting in anxiety at the very thought?

Feathered wings dipped from side to side as the nequus attached to them glided heavily into deep sweeps of the land. It may have been easier to just incline his head in the direction, but the hippogriff nequus vastly prefered the thrills of flight over a dull 'point a' to 'point b' travel. Besides, with his time off he'd prefer to take this oppertunity to hunt and catch a decent meal. Rodents, as they were the only abundant source of flesh in the hellene territories, were starting to get on his nerves. Sacks of bones and fur is what they were, and Sanue really didn't fancy the fact he had to catch at least a dozen of them to even make a meal. Ugh, running around chasing mice and small creatures, not exactly good for his ego or his image.

That's why, the strangely feathered stallion had decided, he was out to hunt something real today. Something large and tasty with more meat than fur this time. If he could come across a slightly larger mammal, well then he'd be sure to swoop in on it and enjoy his feast.

Sharp hawk-like eyes scanned the area below for movement or discolored grass, which could possibly be what he was looking for. However it wasn't his next meal his eyes pin-pointed at this moment, but a familiar face that for its sake, really shouldn't have been recogniseable in the first place. It was that mare, the dark coated mare with bright pumpkin shapes on her side and green reya wings. He never forgot a face, especially if that particular face had insulted and tried to push him out of his own territory at the time. The hippogriff turned in the direction of the mare, gaging the distance between them and supressing the urge to dig his talons into her hide upon arrival.

Humph. These feelings were nothing more than an annoyance, Eve was fine, she had to be fine. Perhaps she was just taking her time on the matter, or the b*****d had run and she needed to track him down first. Maybe she had even got side-tracked chasing down some other idiots who seemed too good for their own good. Whatever the reason, Dailondra didn't want to believe in her gut feeling that something had happened. Not to Eve, that mare was far too hardy to allow anything like that to happen.

The Reya let out a sharp sigh, these feelings of anxiety were really starting to get to her. Perhaps she just needed to trust in the aeri mare's capability to deal with the situation, but with every passing day Dailondra felt that part of her confidence slip away one bit at a time. It really had been far too long since she saw or even heard word of the ruthless leopard print mare. How much longer could she wait before worry really set in?

In frustration the reya thrust her horn into the air and stomped the ground, but when she did so her eyes caught sight of a quickly approaching figure. Her eyes narrowed as she studied the now landing creature. Silver-gray in color, feathered wings- jala, and... no! Startled, Dailondra flung herself into a quick backpedal and a heavy flarring of her nostrils. Taloned forelegs! It was... it was that beast! That ugly, foul beast from the beach!

Oh she remembered their last encounter together, how that pompus Jala stallion had left her in the company of the vermin now before her, and how said vermin almost attacked her. Dailondra flicked her ears back and snapped her tails behind her in an aggitated manner, the shock now begining to wear off. "Be gone, Freak! I'll not share a moment longer in your presence!" Stupid, ugly vermin, he'll leave her be or she'll run her horn through him this time!

Its not like he had been expecting a warm welcome or anything, but with a greeting like that he really was begining to ponder raking her hide with sharp claws. Perhaps he had simply flown closer to send her off with harsh words and a threat of a kick, but he couldn't be certain. After all, the hippogriff did hold grudges. Oh well, that point meant very little now, he was gonna run her off by any means necissary.

"Than find another part of D'ob to occupy, wretch," he replied in a harsh yet quiet voice. For if the hippogriff raised his voice, it often sounded screechy and high-pitched. One of the many curses his mutations gave him, courtesy of his ability to scream like any bird of prey.

Nequus like her really ruffled his feathers, and now he had been given a second chance to deal with her pig-headed ideals. Now he wasn't quite pissed off enough to out-right attack her, but Sanue was quite prepared to take that form of action if she drew it out of him. To be honest, he was kinda hoping she would.

WHAT?! What did that feather-headed monster say? Surely she could not have that, surely she could not let a comment like that slide. Wretch! Of all the arrogant things to say, and from someone who should hold no pride in himself whatsoever! "Wretch? Dear me, have you taken a look upon your reflection lately? I'm surprised you'd show your face in D'ob at all, what with all the normal nequus here to stare and gawk at you." Ok, temper in check, response cool and detatched. Good. The last thing Dailondra wanted to do was give that no good piece of drek any advantages. Plus, she was fairly certain she'd be able to manipulate him into the right kind of corner before she made a move with her horn.

Continuing in the direction she had steered the conversation, "I simply don't know why you insist on breaking all the rules. Everyone knows a freak- who isn't normal by any standards -doesn't belong anywhere near normal, civil nequus. We can't even allow you near our foals, it'd be too dangerous for them to be left alone with a monster." The reya decided to keep the message broad and yet specific, hoping at least one of the points would hit home for the ugly pest. If it did, there was a possibility of him losing his temper, or feeling self-concious, she wasn't entirely certain which direction he would go in, but it was worth a shot to get him emotionally unbalanced.

That's how Dailondra worked. Control the opponent and control the situation, if she could do that then there was a strong possibility that the advantage would bring her victory. Of course, this would all be much simpler if Eve was here to back her up. The uneasy feeling in her gut twisted at the thought of the aeri mare, but she was sure to keep it out of her face.

Okay, obviously she hadn't learned her lesson the first time she'd insulted him, and Sanue was fully prepared to rectify the situation. Insulting someone for their appearance, manly him, did not reflect well upon one's health afterwords. The hippogriff nequus arched his feathered neck and raised his wings into a threatening manner, preparing every bone in his body to go on the attack. He was a hellene now, correct? He didn't need to take any of this crap from anyone ever again. He had a herd now, acceptance, if not from but a few of the members. Surely he would not stand around and be insulted only to drag himself back into the shadows again.
However, that last comment struck at him slightly, made him pause, hesitate on his approach. How many new mothers and fathers had chased him away from their foals with cries of 'monster' and 'beast'? Sanue had learned from the get-go that other nequus would not feel safe with him around their foals, and those old feelings of hate and hurt bubbled to the surface.

By the time the silver feathered stallion snapped back to take control of his thoughts and focus on the sitation at hoof, he had discovered that hesitation in the presence of such a vile creature as the mare before him was not the wisest of actions. The hippogriff nequus was hard pressed to jerk his body out of the way in time, and that fault left him a blazing red trail across his wither. Luckily, it had only scratched the surface, but unluckily it seemed she was much faster than himself.

Drat! She had meant to pierce his chest with that dash into his personal space, but only managed to scrape the skin. Admitedly, it was a long line red, which helped settle her feelings of dissatisfaction. Ouch, it must sting. A smug expression made itself known to her features, and the black-coated Reya mare wheeled to the side to begin another full-on attack to the ugly wretch of a nequus before her. Or perhaps, she thought, he wasn't a nequus at all, but merely a monster created by the Gods. Unlikely, but it was better than thinking this beast an actual nequus. Urin would be a much greater place if only she could get rid of him, Dailondra was quite certain of that.

The reya plunged into her charge, certain of the victory that was about to befall her, certain of the destruction to this creature. Unfortunatly he met her head on, dashing forward and evading her horn, but not the brunt of her charge. As their shoulders connected, the black-coated mare discovered her mistake a little too late.

A piercing pain to her side and the feeling of something ripping from her flesh and it was all she could do to wrench herself out of close combat with the freak nequus. Sharp feelings of pain became apparant as she moved to stand in a defeansive position, horn lowered and nostrils flaring- that... that monster!

Held between his ugly beaked muzzle she could see, dangling there for all the world to behold, a strip of dark colored flesh strill dripping with blood and the bit of meat that happened to cling to it. Shocked and absolutely appalled by the sight, Dailondra threw her head up and took a step back. "Foul beast! Wretched and wicked creature, you dare strip flesh from my hide?! I'll kill you for that!" If only her legs would move, for the most terrible sight she had ever seen just unraveled before her eyes.

The hippogriff nequus could feel the hate weaving itself into his instincts, filling his body with a trembling urge to dig his talons into her neck and not let go. But it wasn't his talons that had the oppertunity to latch onto the mare's hide, it had been his beak instead. Even now, as he held the stripped flesh in place he could feel the blood trickling onto his tongue, sliding down his throat to fill his hungry belly. To his instincts, meat was meat, no matter where it came from. This simple urge to devour was not shared by his mind; however, as it screamed at such a wretched thought.

In the end, meat was meat, and his hatred for the mare before him helped to swallow the strip down. Litterally. Even as he felt the strip slide down his throat his mind balked at the idea. This is nequus flesh, it said, I am not a monster. And yet the deed was done, his hungry belly thanking him for the treat, even when he felt sick inside.

The hippogriff than turned to his company, as unwelcomed as it was, and bellowed an eagle's scream at its direction, making a mock charge meant to chase her away. "Or I may very well kill you, for you're nothing but a walking pile of meat to me!" Yes, a truly monsterous thing to say, but if it got her out of here sooner than the better off he'd be. Still, his insides twisted at the very thought of doing it again. Sickening, absolutely sickening to think of other nequus as food. And yet he could feel his hunger for meet. After this, he would hunt. Rabbit, bird, fish, whatever he could find. Just please let her leave before instinct said to kill her, for after that he wasn't sure what his hunger would dictate for him to do.

Just about any nequus' blood would run cold at something like that, she felt certain, and Dailondra was definatly no exception to the rule. Balking slightly to the side, with eyes rolling white at the feathered monster with a beak and talons, she took up her losses and fled the scene with about as much speed and gumsure as she could muster at the time. Sure, she fancied herself brave enough to attack him, but when he turned into a predator and her prey instinct declared it was time to haul a** out of there. She wasn't certain why, no creature ever preyed on nequus flesh, but when posed with the idea of something doing so, Dailondra's mind slipped into a frenzied get the hell out frame of thought.

Fleeing this creature was probably the better bet until she could meet up with Eve again, then maybe, just maybe, they could both put an end to that miserable... horrifying, monster of a nequus. A nequus that eats flesh! Nequus flesh! Her flesh! Those thoughts spurred panic, and the mare broke into an uneven sprint that held no direction, but away.

She left. Thankfully. The hippogriff could breath a sigh of relief, but those feelings of hate and disgust remained for the black-coated, pumpkin patterned reya mare. He had yet to learn her name, but if they ever crossed paths again, he hoped he could finally put an end to this little fued one way or another. Hopefully without resorting in death to either one of them, but for some reason he doubted simply scaring her away would do the trick.

Another sigh, he'd have to cross that bridge when he came to it, nothing more. Feeling the bubbling of hunger rise again, Sanue turned his attention to the surrounding area and began to lope away from the scene of previous conflict. Though despite his escape two things remained. The hate he felt for the mare, and the taste of her blood upon his tongue. Both of which were sickening to the silver feathered stallion.

The sooner he found a meal worth eating the better, for maybe on a full stomache he could finally put the matter at ease. Or... perhaps, Mecriana would make an appearance. That-that would considerablly brighten up what had since turned into a rather shitty day. To think, that crazy Jala mare had gone from hating his guts to liking him in the months she spent perstering him every day off he got from his duties for the hellenes. It had shocked and surprised him at first when she admited it, but now it left him with a feeling of pleseantness and fullfillment. Someone actually accepted him, good things had certainly started happening after he joined up with the hellene herd. He was able to see Ignacius again, a herd accepted him despite his appearance, and now... well now a mare liked him. This was awesome!

Yes, he was certain, he would be sure to see Mecriana today, as he did every day off he got. A pecular bounce returned to the grim-feeling Sanue's step, and the thoughts of Dailondra lingered slightly before simply falling away into oblivion. He was going to see Mec today, that was good.
