Yes, we are all fans here. Yes, we all love YYH. But really, there are those little peeves that annoy you, or questions that are unexplainable, aren't there?
Like, 'Why did Yoshihiro decide to make Kurama look like a girl?'
Or, 'Why is Hinageshi so important?○'
And much more. Let out your confusion and or rants here. Please respect everyone's opinions though, please.
I'll go first. I understand Botan's not as major as the other characters, but she should still get some powers. She's the Grim Reaper, for pete's sake!! And the only powers that are ever mentioned is when she is keeping the eye closed on Keiko's forehead. Is it just me, or does that annoy you guys too?
○If there is, sorry, I never really saw the movie completely. ^^;

No it's true. Botan does NOT get many abilities even though she's the Grim Reaper. But recall that her job does entail ONLY taking the dead back to Spirit World and relaying messages. Really the only thing that requires is knowing the hand book and being good at flying, both of which Botan meets. Also, she DOES have Spirit Energy of some form, because she's able to use the Detective items AND she has a keen sense of telepathy, shown by the fact that she could see into the dark during the Genkai Tournament. Plus, she knows how to use a freakin' metal bat!
Sorry, I completely get where you're coming from, but I always get a bit defensive with the females on the show. ; )
My rant? Why are the guys' muscles SO BIG? It bugs the CRAP outta me, I'm tellin' you. I'm glad because they fixed this with Hiei. In the beginning he looked like a freakin' 12 year old body-builder, but by the Dark Tourney, he was just a toned 12 year old. But seriously! Kuwabara for instance! Remember Byakko's lair? How can he freakin' JUMP that far? Oh and Yusuke is the WORST example of this, and Kurama's pretty bad too. Okay, Kurama LEAST OF ALL should have a six-pack! D :<
Pisses me off real bad! *huffs indignantly*

My question/rant...
Why wasn't Kuronue a character in the TV series and manga!?
XD I'm kidding of course, even Miko has to be a goof sometimes. To be really honest, I haven't really questioned too much in Yu Yu Hakusho. I've kinda just gone with the flow and figured that everything was done for a reason. I am sure if I thought hard enought about it I could come up with a question or a rant, but I don't really like thinking that hard... Okay, not true, I over think everything, but I don't feel like thinking that hard right now... yes, that's better.

Hahaha. We all have those days. ; D
Rant for the day? How is it that Hiei knows how to read? I mean, it really makes NO sense. He was raised by thieves. Okay, I don't think thieves need to read that much, or would take it upon themselves to teach someone one of their members TO read. And I REALLY don't think Hiei would ask anyone to teach him.

Your right, Havi--How'd Hiei learn how to read?
Well, Hiei, to be pretty blunt, isn't that stupid. He's been surviving on his own since he was little. I think he would pick up a couple of things.
My rant? Why can't YYH fans (or just lovers of Hiei and Kurama) appriciate Kuwabara more? I understand that he's a comic relief character, yadda yadda, but he's still important!!! (Yes, I read Plot Holes, which makes me more determined to get more people to like Kuwa)

As a fellow Kuwabara fan, I can get in on that rant... I would particularly like to point out to Kurama fans, that by the end of the series KUWABARA IS KURAMA'S BEST FRIEND. Oi, go read the manga -_- They spend the most time together, and since Kurama chose to remain as a human in the human world and Hiei chose to go back to the demon world they really aren't that close anymore... So there you go, if Kurama thinks Kuwabara is okay, what the hell is the rest of your guys' problems? Kuwabara hate has actually been a rant of mine for a while, I am surprised I forgot to post it here until now.

Yeah, I met Kuwa-basher face to face once and asked her what her problem was. Know what she said? "Because he's stupid!"
EXCUSE me?! Kuwabara, for one, was the ONLY character to suspect the Masked Figther was Genkai during the Dark Tournament Arc. During that arc, he also realized that the dream he'd had about the three fighters from Team Ichigaki had been a cry for help.
The only reason he never got good grades in school was because he never actually tried! He was too busy trying to beat up Urameshi and never saw the importance! But he actually got into high school! That's GOT to say something.
And for another he's not useless! Summarized in the fan fic Plot Holes on fanfiction.net.

O_O Really? She said that?
Well, I used to sorta not like Kuwabara, either. He got on my nerves in the beginning (first couple of eppies), but I slowly began to like him, and look where I am now. Kuwabara is defianatly not stupid. Like you said, Havi, he never applied himself. Remember when he stayed up all night studying? He did well on the test the next day!
Anyways, where'd you meet this person? A con?

Nah, friend of a friend. But she's a rabid fangirl, I swear.
She supports NarutoxHiei. *shivers* I went into a debate about how Hiei would slit Naruto's throat before they could come anywhere CLOSE to falling in...love. *heaves*
Whoo...I'm feeling better now. : )
Alright, YYH rants. Rants rants rants.
When did Kurama FINALLY grow affectionate towards Shiori?
In the manga it says after an accident involving a broken plate when Kurama was little, like...seven or nine.
But in the anime, I was rewatching the episode where Yoko first appears in the Dark Tourney, and it shows flashbacks of Kurama, four, saying "I love you, mommy." (Which, by the way, I "awww"ed at. >w<)
So when did it happen? When did Kurama finally realize he had fand emotional attachment to his mother?

Wh-What??? No, that is NOT possible. Gaaauh, your lucky I wasn't there with you. I might've killed the girl (not really o_o;;; ). I would've started screaming at her. Even my friend, who got me into YYH was like, "...WT*?!!!!"
If anything, your better off going off the manga when it comes to that. The anime can get all screwy with things at times.

I know right?! Man, though, you have NO idea how much self-control it took to be in the same room with that rabid, Mary-Sue making, Kuwabara-bashing, shallow fangirl. *shivers* So freaking hard.
And yeah, it's true. Anime did screw with some things. I'll trust the manga. : )

lol. The muscles are big because it's shonen. Boys love looking at other strong boys because they're secretly gay. Toguro was the only one who ever actually made me physically ill with the way he looked, when he got up into the 100% range. XD
Kuwabara haters: I think it has to do with the way Kuwabara was drawn, and his strength. Firstly, his face is longer with more definition, and it isn't petite. (Thus, in anime, "ugly.") Also, he's the only fully human one of the team, and weakest. Those aren't good reasons for disliking him, but I'm guessing, since I've pretty much always liked the guy.
Naruto: BELIEVE IT!
Hiei: Die. *kills*
rofl. I think Kurama telling his mother that he loved her was probably part of a ploy, or an attempt to act like a normal child. Though, they do say that he was very harsh to her growing up. I believe that his feelings started after the incident (which involved Kurama nearly getting killed, but Shiori saved him and cut her arms up on broken glass in the process) and before the Eight Hands (Two Shots) arc.
I believe it took a little longer than a night, but grew right in those years to become something very, very strong.
My own rant? WHY DON'T THE PANTS EVER COME OFF?

Hahaha. I roflmaoed at the Naruto/Hiei scene. XD
And that's a good point about the Kurama thing. It probably WAS just an act in the beginning.
As for the muscles, I'll have to say that Toguro made me gag as well. My goodness gracious you have no CLUE how much I begged and pleaded with my computer to put a shirt on him. Don't ask for my reasoning behind this action, I really don't know. But I was desperate.
As for the pants. Kuwabara's pants come off. o//o; Oh my. *face resembling a tomato*

I have another little rant/question I suppose... It actually has to do with the changes from manga to anime. I mean while I do adore the anime and manga almost equally, because both have such wonderful things to offer in their own way, there are some things that the manga just makes better. One thing I was particularly noticing was the subtle differences in certain character's personalities. Take Botan for instance, I find that she came off as a tad more intelligent and had a much more bitting sense of humor in the manga. Take the first volume of the manga when she's telling Yusuke that the little boy he saved would have survived the crash with out a scrape, she makes the nice little quip: "Instead of no one getting hurt, the kid gets a few scrapes and you die! Nice work, moron!" Where as in the anime she kind of just laughs off Yusuke's reaction to finding out that his death was "pointless." I mean, she does say something a little humorous, but it's just not the same. I've noticed subtle changes in character with Kurama and even Yusuke from manga to anime as well. It's nothing too major, but sometimes the subtle changes can make a bit of a difference. I just wish Botan would have been a little more like her manga self in the anime, I got more laughs out of here then.

Yeah, I find the character and plot changes annoying too. I mean, whenever you talk to a YYH fan, you have to say whether you're talking about the manga or the anime, but then again, that's true with just about all animes. Naruto is terrible in this. You know how much filler there is? And in Death Note they took out anything religious and replaced it with an apple in the anime.
I think the most likely explanation for changes in characters is that the anime was probably created by people who loved the anime as much as we did, so they added new things to it and had "fun" with the characters. Not to say this "fun" isn't amazing AND FUN! But it does mess with their personalities a bit.
Some changes I've noticed with Yusuke is he's a LOT more perverted in the anime. Ex: After his first revival, in the manga he simply turns to Keiko with that adorable look and says "Good morning!" In the anime, he turns to her with an adorable look and comments "Nice kiss."
