 Semira was enjoying a busy afternoon in the pride. She had spent the day mingling somewhat, she still wasn't bold enough to come right out of her shell but she was starting to get more comfortable being among the pack. She was starting to let her past drift into the back of her mind as she learned the ways of the pack.
This afternoon she saw something she hadn't seen in a long time, CUBS! Semira hadn't seen a cub since she was one herself, when she was ran out of her own home, away from her parents and her siblings. These cubs made her think of her family and her childhood. It made her smile and remember what it was like to be that way. In one sense it made her happy in another it made her rather sad, it made her realize how much she lost, but how much these little ones had to gain.

 Tahki had wandered away from her mother and family for a short while so that she could get a better look at the marsh. This cub was a bit of an adventurer, always wandering and almost always getting her self into trouble. Today, however, she was staying with in the pride.
The cub jumped up and down making splishing sounds in the mud as she wandered onward. The sounds amused her greatly, it was one of the reasons she loved the swamps.
A large black lion shaped thing caught her attention causing her to stop her splishing fun in mud and just gaze at it. At first, she had thought it was some sort of shadow, but now that she was close, the shadow was clearly a lion. Crimson red eyes and a beautiful pelt decorated this new lioness and made the cub smile.
"Hi~!" The cub almost sang as she splished her way toward the new comer in a strange bunny hop through the thick of the mud. Tahki's fur coat must have been so muddy and dirty right now, but the cub could care less. A new and exciting stranger was right in front of her. Maybe the two could go on a great adventure and slay monsters together.edit: Did you pm me the wrong link or is the title wrong ? 0 3 0;x DD no its right, having a slow morning. -just woke up- Jahki = Tahki... not sure why i was so confuse.d

Semira looked up when she heard the young cub talk. It was a young girl, very colorful Semira thought, but covered in mud. It made her smile lightly, clearly this cub enjoyed playing in her home, that would be a good feeling, playing meant that she felt safe.
"Hello young one" she said quietly to the cub. She was very bad at conversation. It came from being alone for so many years of her life. Mind you she did need to start talking to more lions around the pride. After all she didn't want them to think she was a snob, she wanted to be welcomed her and she wanted to make it her home.
She shifted her weight slightly and sat so that she would be in a more relaxed position, maybe make it easier to talk to the little cub. She smiled at her again reassuringly she didn't want the cub to sense her nerves and leave, she was excited about talking to talk to someone.

"No small one, I am not a shadow. She looked down at her self, though my fur does help create that illusion now doesn't it. " She found it easier talking to the cub then she had anyone else, it was weird. It was possible that she knew that there was no possible way that they were the ones who had distroyed her pride.
"No little one, I would guess that you wouldn't recognize me. I am very new to the pride. I just came with five of my friends." She smiled thinking about her makeshift family. They were all that she had, perhaps though this pride would give her more, perhaps she would find everyhting she had been looking for.

The cub eyed the bigger lioness with a perma smile planted on her maw. Tahki just couldn't get enough of this strange new lioness , she was nothing like her mother, or, other lions she'd met. It was the dark coat that fascinated her so much with the crimson eyes. The lioness looked like a living shadow.
"Wowww," She smiled, "So you've traveled far? Did you have to fight monsters along the way?" Her pink eyes widened , " What about treasure OR OR Did you save the day??" Obviously some one had been listening to way to many stories.
Tahki was a cub that wasn't very planted in reality. Her mind soared in stories and fantasies. Though, she was a young cub. Only time would tell if she out grew her youthful fantasies.

Semira laughed gently at the young ones wild thoughts. It was amazing to her how pure a little ones mind could be. "Well there was some monsters along the way I suppose, but I had help fighting them, and the treasure is here in what we were looking for."
Semira wasn't sure that the cub would understand what she was trying to say, the monsters were within Semira, and her treasure was making it to her new home, to somewhere she could be safe. She didn't want to overwhelm the young cub with all of this information though.
"Have you had to fight any monsters here little one" Semira asked her as she got down into a crouch like position as if to fend of the monsters for the little one. She was enjoying the time she was spending with this cub, it brought a free side of her out.

Tahki had to tilt her head when the other said she found treasure here. The cub had looked and looked and yet to find really much that she'd call treasure. But the smile on her maw didn't faulter , it stayed bright and strong upon her maw.
"No, haven't fought anything really big, " The cub shifted her eyes back and forth from one side to the other for a moment. "But between you and me," She started to whisper, "I think the local lizards are planning some kind of attack."
The cubs face was very serious even with the goofy smile on her maw. "But of course I'll be here to protect us." THe cubs chest puffed out proudly, "And you look tough, we can defend the pride together from the , " She whispered, "Lizards."

Semira smiled "Oh those dreaded lizard" she said, and pawed at the damp leaves around them looking for the lizards. "Well there doesn't seem to be any here. I think we are safe" she said smiling to the young cub.
"But tel me more about these lizards, how do you know they are planning an attack, do you know when it might be" she smiled she wasn't sure she should be egging the cub on but at the same time she didn't see the harm in letting the cub use her imagination, playing was what being a cub was all about. "I need all the details if I am going to help fend them off."

Tahki's goofy smile widened some ," I don't know but when they attack you bet I'll be here." Her chest was still poofed out. This was a cub of action, or so Tahki thought of her self in that way.
"After all," Tahki said with her chest still out and her eyes still dead serious, "I'm the great adventurer Tahki." The self proclaimed adventurer did a turn to give the other a three sixty view of her. In the cubs head she was tough as nails. This was a cub who had never been in a real scrap or real adventure in her life. Naive may be an understatement.
But right as she was prancing about a lizard came out of the brush and settled right next to Tahki. The cub hadn't noticed.

Semira laughed as the lizard settled next to the cub, she was too busy showing off to notice that the apparent bane of her existence was settled right next to her. "Psst, I think they are spying on us." she whispered to the cub as she nodded to the lizard that was only inches from the cubs back paw.
Before the cub could respond to the lizard, Semira picked up the lizard and held it in her upturned paw. She didn't actually want to see the lizard hurt, although the cub thought they were going to raid the camp she didn't feel the same way. She would find away to satisfy the cub's need for adventure without harming this poor lizard.
"What do you say we should do?" she asked the cub, "Should we try to torture information form him or should we let him go and see if we can follow him back to his leaders." Semira was really hoping the cub would go for the latter as she really didn't want to cause harm to the lizard.

Tahki looked shocked as the older lioness revealed that she had been sitting right next to an invader this whole time. The surprise on her face seemed to be frozen there for a moment.
For a second, Tahki almost went with the torture. What fun would that have been though. So the young cub just looked thoughtful for a moment before making up her mind.
"Lets go with the following. That way we can get rid of the invaders base and save the swamplands," She gave a clever smile up to the dark lioness. Following sounded much more appealing. Maybe the two could wipe out some other spies or forces on the way. Who knew?

"OK little one, lets get going then" she said as she saw the lizard began to make its move. She was fairly confident that this lizard probably wouldn't lead them anywhere near another lizard, but it was fun to play with the little cub and if that meant playing into the cubs little ideas.
She slipped in and around trees making it seem like the lizard was harder to follow then he actually was. She wanted the cub to have fun so that she would want to stay around her. "Come quickly little one, we don't want it to get away."

Tahki shuffled after the older lioness. Her footing was a little awkward as she followed after trying not to lose the devilish lizard. What could the lizards plans be? Why had he appeared before the two lions? The wheels were turning behind those little lion eyes of Tahki. What ever this Lizard was up to the two lionesses would stop it.
And then Tahki tripped over a branch. Mumbling she got back up.
"It would seem they are more clever then I had originally thought..." She mumbled.

Semira chuckled, "Yes they do seem to be rather smart." she smiled, she was glad that cub was having fun.
Not wanting any harm to come to the lizard Sermira pretended to trip over a tree stump. "She stood up and pretended to look around for the lizard, "Oh no it got away." She turned and looked apologetically at the cub, hoping she would forgive her. "I'm very sorry little one, I guess I am not very good tracking." [/black]
