I got to an all-girl catholic school (not quite sure if that has anything to do with it... after all, I go there and I love yaoi..) and me and my friends were talking 'bout hot guys. (We don't always do this, it was just something that came up 3nodding ) So anyways, I said, "You know what's better than a really hot guy? A really hot guy making out with another really hot guy. It's awesome." and they kinda freaked. They were like, "OMG eww. No. Noooooo. Gag. " so I asked if they'd even seen it before, which of course they hadn't. and then of course I said, "Well, don't say eww until you see it. 'Cause that's kinda what I thought.... but then I first "met/saw" yaoi. And now i love it!!" They looked at me like I was crazy.... so I just changed the subject. sweatdrop Now, I wanted to know if all my friends thought this. so I asked one who had acually seen some random yaoi pc. (Some kingdomhearts one or something. I dunno, I never saw it before.) So anyways, I asked what she had thought of it. And she hadn't liked it. at all. Now, I'm debating whether or not to shove FAKE under her nose and say. "Read this. Then come back to me." Or just give up, and resign myself to the fact that NONE OF MY FRIENDS GET IT. Grrr.....

if it were me, i'd keep trying...but maybe because you're in a catholic school, people don't like it because it "goes against the word of God" or some other random stuff my parents spout off at me. *shrugs shoulders*

you can't ever tell... I hang out with a lot of straight guys, so of course they don't like it.... but even then, most of my gay friends aren't fond of anime or manga yaoi. You'll have to bear with them. Sorry about Catholic school.... really really sorry, thats most likely the factor. I'm sure some one will agree with you, but chances are that if your group of friends don't like it now, they won't ever... but you will probably find someone else there with your similar interests, lol

Hmm... thanks ya'll. I guess I'll just leave my friends to thier yaoi-hating devices. stare I've decided to go looking for people who like yaoi at Mags(my school) and I'm going to get some sort of loose group together. Who knows? *shrugs* Maybe someone else there likes it and is just hiding. ninja

Yay, good news for me! I asked another one of my friends, and while she had never seen actual yaoi or anything...... she got the guyxguy part! She thinks it's hawt too! So, whew *sigh of relief*, it's good to know! Oh, and I was reading yaoi in class, and my teacher got mad at me and took the book away, and then wouldn't give it back. scream I was like "GIVE ME MY YAOI!!!" and then kind of nervous that she would read it or something. After all.... I think she almost became a nun *shiver* . Now I don't know what happens next in the book....... sad
