A large lion lay with his white belly stretched across the dirt. His latest kill was sprawled next to him, uneaten. He realized after the kill that he wasn't hungry, just frustrated. A hunt was a good way to run off excess energy. He didn't actually expect to catch something.
He gave a yawn, his face indifferent and his posture, though relaxed, was ready to attack. His mother... or his Father's mate anyways, had trained him to kill and fight without emotion, to always be alert. However, his emotion, though deeply locked away, would emerge.
But a time like that wasn't now, with his kill so close to his body.

Something had changed. Mauja knew it. Something about himself, his demeanor-- it was different. He felt it, and he hadn't the slightest idea why. Maybe it was his last encounter, with a male lion, that had put him off. All he knew now was that he needed to return to the way he was. Life like this was far too boring.
His nose twitched; he smelled something in the air. It called to his empty stomach, which had not been filled in quite some time. Food had to be close by, and Mauja, like always, was gonna cozy up to whoever killed it so he could grab a meal.
The company wasn't bad, either, and had always proven satisfactory.

Chocolate brown eyes surveyed the land - It looked as it always had. He watched the various animals interacting around him. Small birds twittering and chirruping, meerkats from a bit away were eating bugs, and a cheetah was walking in the distance.
By now, he could tell a cheetah from other creatures. The strange slender form stuck in his mind when he was young - he thought they were odd. It only took him a moment to realize the cheetah in the distance was coming towards him. He steeled himself for a battle if it came to that.
However, he still lay in his 'relaxed' position, waiting for the cheetah to try and either steal his kill or attack him. Or at least, try to.

Polette: Oh joy, another brute lion.
Mauja rolled his eyes, not really wanting to have to interact with another lion. They were so much trouble, and always seemed to have a personal vendetta against him. Nonetheless, he still trotted forward; it was better to try his luck than to just miss out completely.
"And how are you on this fine day, love?" as he neared, he smiled, hoping that this lion would at least be nicer than those previous to him.

Seaki: Mufasa gave a fine yawn and watched the cheetah came up to him. His brow furrowed a bit but he waited for the other's greeting - he hasn't spoken to someone in so long, it was getting quite... boring? lovnely? He didn't know.
And what a strange creature this cheetah was. He'd only met one other cheetah. When he was younger, that it. A nice fellow with a crazy companion. The greeting for this cheetah was just as strange. Love? A light rumble wished to bild up in his chest, but pushing it away, he chose to answer. "Fine I suppose. What is a cheetah doing all the way out here on this 'fine day'?" He questioned, with the slight hope that he didn't seem sarcastic or cold.
He gave another wide yawn, and gave the cheetah a suspicious look, pondering if the creature wanted his kill.

Polette: Way out here? Your current resting place isn't all that secluded, sweetheart." though it was a male he was speaking to, Mauja found it difficult to just drop the pet names.
Scrathing the ground with his paw, his eyes dropped. It's not that he was hungry, but he had mouths to feed, and his last chance at getting a meal was chased off by a female cheetah. Now she was crazy.
"Besides, I could very well ask you the same thing." his orange eyes flicked up, and a small smile crept onto his maw.

Seaki: Well, that was true. The place wan't all that secluded, but he hadn't seen many cheetahs around this part, and eepecially not this one. "I live in this area, and I've never seen you here," he replied with a pensive, but alert look that fleeted across his face, disappearing into a relaxed caution.
His nose twitched, taking in the scent of the cheetah and the rich scent of blood that came from the carcass next to him. The bleeding body was still warm...

Polette: "Just 'cause you never see me doesn't mean I'm not here." Mauja raised his brow at the lion, a smirk still on his face. "Though, I do wander more than the average cheetah." he closed his eyes, letting out a sigh, then lowered himself to the ground.
"I was just out, looking for....some things." he flicked his eyes to the side, away from the carcass so he wouldn't focus on it.

Seaki: Mufasa held his gaze quite adamantly. "Ah, wandering. I used to..." But he didn't continue, cutting his words off. He chose to gnore the first comment. He gave the cheetah a frown. "Some things...?" He questioned. "What constitues as 'some things'?"

Polette: "Wouldn't you like to know, darling." Mauja smirked, winking at the lion. His tail flicked back and forth behind him, as he anxiously hoped that this time he wouldn't be run off by a lion perterbed by his antics.
"Besides, most don't enjoy hearing about my life." he rested his head on his paws, closing his eyes and smiling.

Seaki: Mufasa gave a shrug. "I'm not most." He was considered odd from birth. Very odd, he wasn't like most lions - optomistic and... just strange. Plus, he had a strange pulling feeling that told him to listen - he didn't know what it was, but he accepted that as a fact of life. He had developed these feeling at a young age after he met his father, Uovo.
He watched the strange cheetah. This cheetah was probably the odd of the bunch. But he wasn't one to judge the character of someone unless they hurt him. And this cheetah hadn't hurt him. The pet names were easy to ignore as well. "So, tell me about yourself."

Polette: Now this, this was strange.
First off, no one had ever, ever asked Mauja about himself. He usually didn't come off as the type others would want to know about. Secondly, this was a lion he was talking to. Maybe the heat had gone to his head.
"Myself?" he cocked an eyebrow at the fuzzy beast, a tad confused. "Well, I'm a cheetah..." his voice trailed off, debating whether he'd actually want to tell this lion about himself or not.

Seaki: Mufasa's ear's swiveled to focus directly on what the cheetah was saying. He gave a nod at the cheetah's comment, with a small grin of mirth upon his face. He didn't comment on the amusing response, but he voiced something else. "Go on..." He told the cheetah, still unknowing of his name.
He promted slightly for the cheetah's name. "My name is Mufasa, by the way."

Polette: "You really are relentless, huh?" Mauja gave a small smile that was only shown when he was being half serious. "My name is Mauja, love." He said it like it was a famous name that had been echoed throughout the savannah.
"What else do you want to know, my dear Mufasa?"

Seaki: Mufasa broke his cold mask. He, despite the weirdness, liked this cheetah. He gave a chuckle and shook his mane lightly. He gave a snort in amusement. "Mauja, huh?" He didn't comment on the name, or anything. He didn't have anything to say to it, really. It was habit for him to echo the other creatures name when introduced.
"Anything you want to tell me, Mauja."
