User Image Bi'ndoto was ready to change his life. He didn't know how yet, but he had a feeling things were about to change. Giza talked so much about wanting to leave, he was practically just waiting for the day she struck out on her journey to get her brother back. Actually, he was waiting for her to ask him to go with her. Her adventure would mean nothing to him if he couldn't go along.

Feeling restless, cramped and irritable, the black lion wandered once again from his home, opting to sit on a rock he had often perched atop when he sought isolation from his siblings. Of course, the rock had never once done its job. One or more of them always seemed to find him, and he wondered vaguely why he continued to sit there.

Maybe he was actually looking for company from his family. But he would never admit it out loud. In fact, he didn't even like to think about it in his head, and snorted at the idea as it flitted through his generally dark mind.

Zana had said her farewells, she felt mildly ashamed of herself for leaving her mother crying. The voice in the back of her head urged her to tamp down the guilt and continue, it was time to make her way in the world. On her own! She would have set out just fine but she paused as she spotted her brother. would this be the last time she ever saw any of her siblings? The thought made her chest feel strangely tight.

It wasn't that they had ever been exceptionally close, but they were her blood and the only company she had known in her young life.
"Hello Doto..." She moved closer to her brother. She could at least tell him goodbye, at the very least, and thank him for all the skinning lessons. If it wasn't for her brothers teasing she might have never managed to hunt anything down on her own.

Doto looked up when he heard his sister's voice. If he had been waiting for company from his family, hers was probably the most expected. He looked at her and tilted his head. He didn't smile or frown, or indicate any emotion at her coming to join him at all.

But he felt a bit relieved.

"Hello, Zana," he said in return, nodding, "you look pensive. Something on your mind?"

He watched her, almost recognizing the movement in her step. Or maybe the tenseness in her muscles. Whatever it was, he seemed to know it. Restlessness. Or eagerness. Starting a new life. Wasn't that what he had just been thinking about? What he would soon do, with Giza by his side.

"Does it really show that much? I should have taken lessons from you on schooling my expression." She smirked softly for a moment before blinking and looking at him a long moment.

"I just said goodbye to mama...she cried..." Her voice was cooler now as if the detachment would help keep her own tears at bay. "but we can't all stay with her forever." She finally added and looked at Doto curiously, would he leave soon as well? He was large now, clearly on the brink of adulthood and ready to face the world, he was probably better prepared for the world then she was.

Doto almost grinned, but he would have proven her comment incorrect if he had let the expression slip. He was, after all, supposed to be stoic. In charge of his emotions. His eyes flickered and he nodded.

"Yes, I guess that's... pretty much her job. She did give birth to you, after all," Doto said thoughtfully. He wondered if he should say goodbye to them before he went. He didn't really want to, for one reason or another. He told himself it was because he didn't need to: he was his own lion. But he had the faintest idea that he didn't want to say goodbye because he might feel something.

He was perfectly happy telling himself he would be find without them.

"But you're right. We can't stay. I think they know that. The parents, I mean. Who would want so many full grown lions in one den? It's probably better to leave now, before things get uncomfortable." He wasn't trying to make a joke, he never did, but it came out a bit comedic.

"Your ready to leave soon to? I always thought you would go before me..." She was a silent a moment lost in thoughts. Memories of her siblings, what would her reckless and fun loving sister do? Or her brother who believed in speaking to the grass and trees? Would they stay or leave as well? She remembered the look on her mothers face and tried not to feel guilty, she would visit again someday to make her parents proud.

"I wish you luck Doto, do you know where you'll go?" She was trying to look at her own venture as an exciting thing, but she was a bit nervous as welll not having any destination and knowing she would have to depend on herself for food and shelter.

Doto nodded. He always thought he'd leave first, too. He was the one that supposedly hated his siblings. He was the one that wanted a rivalry with his father, and wanted to prove himself better. But he knew, finally accepting it, that he cared about his family. He sighed. Playing tricks on his siblings and getting in trouble for it had been fun, but it was time to grow up and move on. It seemed they were all getting ready for that, anyway.

"Hm," Doto nodded when she wished him luck, returning the sentiment in silence.

Never being much for talking, he considered her question thoughtfully. He might as well engage her since it was one of the, if not the very, last times they would see each other. He had always liked her, really, better than his other siblings. Particularly after she had shown interest in skinning.

"My... friend..." could he call Giza that? She was the only one he had, really, and she was more than friend. Maybe that meant he didn't really have any 'normal' friends after all. He didn't care, though. He didn't need the, "and I are going t o look for her brother. She has an idea of where to go."

So her brother was going on a quest of his own, and with a companion no less, well at least he wouldn't be alone. She might have asked to tag along, but no it was too late for that, she was determined to strike out on her own. Alone, it seemed like such a small word yet it echoed inside her head like a mighty shout. She was going to be all alone in the wide cruel world.

Still she wasn't going to cower, she was brave like her father, and smart like her mother, she had every skill she needed to survive, and once she had gotten past the first hardships she knew she would thrive.

"I hope you find him? Family is important to everyone I guess..." She knew how much it meant to her to be leaving, and somehow getting to speak to Doto before going made her feel better, at least she hoped he would think of her time to time.

Doto nodded.

"I guess so. It's kind of complicated," he said, shaking his head. But what wasn't, with Doto? He was hardly a simple lion, and even he knew that. Giza no less so. It was going to be quite the journey, he imagined, but he found himself looking forward to it ardently.

He didn't bother to question himself as to why.

Standing, he tilted his head at her, then looked up at the sky. Time was moving on. He didn't know when she was going to leave, though he knew he had a little while to wait yet, but he knew this was going to be their last conversation. For a while, if not forever.

"I hope you do well out there," he said to her, the closest he could get to a sincere hope or sweet comment. "I know you're skilled enough for it, anyway. Even if it did take you a little while to figure it out." He grinned vaguely.

That was almost a compliment.

She couldn't help but let out a small chuckle and nodded softly at his words, yes she knew she had the skills, and she knew to give credit where it was due. If it wasn't for Doto's teasing she might not have had such a passion to learn, but she did and she would always be thankful to her brother for it.

"I wasn't so slow, but thanks, if you hadn't helped pushed me...I might have gotten a little stuck. Maybe when I'm out there and hungry it'll be your annoying voice that pushes me on." She smirked and slowly started to move, she would end this on a good note, no sadness, no silly tearing eyes, she would remember bantering with her brother, like they had all the time in the world.

Doto couldn't help but laugh, though he quickly swallowed it down and cleared his throat. He chuckled a bit instead, the end result of his efforts to hide. He looked at her, nodding slowly.

"Well, I guess that would be my honor, kicking your butt mentally to make sure you don't starve to death. The least I could do, I think," he heard himself say.

Things were getting gushy.

He noticed her starting to move and was almost thankful, nodding as she went. It was good timing, and he watched her impassively as she went. His eyes flickered.

"We'll see each other again, I'm sure. But if we don't. Good bye... take care of yourself."
