The STN-J members
characters:

Robin

Name: Robin Sena
Age: 15
Latin Word: incendere ('to burn')
Occupation: STN-J team member
Spends most of the Series: Settings things on fire and feeling miserable
Defined by: Her pyrokinetic abilities and her hairstyle.
Appearance: Pale face, dark blonde hair, green eyes, always wears black or dark colours.
History: Raised in Italy but born in Japan, she was an Orphan from an early age. She was surrounded by religion growing up, which might explain her dress sense, her reserved nature and her polite demeanour.
Parents: Toukou, a researcher, and Maria, daughter of Juliano.
Notes: Pyrokinesis. Although at first she has troubles controlling and directing her power, by the end of the series she is unstoppable, and more powerful than anyone else in the world. You might think this would be a good thing, but it only makes her feel more lonely, outcast and unsure of herself.
Amon gives her glasses to help direct her power, which are useful, although her feelings are hurt by his cold attitude towards her - at first leaving without her, and not even speaking to her, although in 'Raindrops' he nearly got killed by a psycho doll trying to investigate something for her. Kawaii ^_^.
Later on in the series she becomes certain that he is going to hunt her, as even she doesn't know whether her powers are really under control, and as rumour has it, he hunted the last witch that worked as an agent for STN-J.


Amon

Name: Amon
Age: 25
Latin Word: delaniare ('to tear to pieces', isn't this the coolest word ever?)
Occupation: STN-J team member
Spends most of the Series: Sulking, and acting like he's going to kill Robin.
Defined by:That sulky look and minimalistic approach to speech.
Appearance: Pale, brooding type with dark hair. Always wears black, and always carries guns. Very Bleak. Usually frowning.
History: Well, who really knows? He's too busy brooding to tell us about it. He has a half-brother (they have the same father, as far as I can gather), Nagira, who looks after Robin for a while, but other than that his past is very unclear. He was also going out with Robin's roommate, Touko, for a while before the series started.
Parents: His mother was a witch/seed so he's a seed too.
Notes: He's like the epitome of 'the strong, silent' type. He doesn't say much, and he generally isn't very nice to people, as he seems to have his own agendas. No one really knows what he's up to, well except the audience, because he has to be a good guy, right? Right!? It's hard to tell at times.
He takes a long time to accept Robin into STN-J, and only gradually begins to trust her. My guess is that he had some traumatic experience as a child and now he can't trust people. Awww. Poor Amon.
Best Moment(s): The Killer doll, and The attack on STN-J HQ.


Karasuma

Name: Miho Karasuma
Age: 19
Latin Word: cogitere ('to think')
Occupation: STN-J team member.
Spends most of the Series: Sighing
Appearance: Dark hair, cut neatly and practically. Usually wears suits or smart clothes.
History: None provided, other than she thinks her powers (psychometry) are fading away, which is pretty worrying for her.
Notes: Very, very practical and reliable. If she's not on time, you know something is seriously wrong.
Can seem a little disapproving, but really very thoughtful, and cares about everyone in the team. When Amon and Robin dissapear after the attack on STN-J HQ she takes over as team leader, but she isn't very sucessful, especially since she often has to go out on hunts by herself - Amon's gone, Robin's gone, Sakaki has a broken leg and Yurika's doing whatever.
Best Moment(s): Her time as leader of the STN-J team after Amon disappears.


Haruto

Name: Sakaki Haruto
Age: 17
Latin Word: passus ('I have suffered')
Occupation: STN-J team member.
Spends most of the Series: Being Injured
Defined by: His Motorcycle?
Appearance: Brown hair, usually wears jeans or casual clothes.
History: None supplied, except that after Robin he's the newest member of the team.
Notes: Rides a very cool motorbike. Also if something bad is going to happen, it happens to him. He has got attacked by killer bugs, been shot and a whole lot of other things in the name of STN-J. I hope they give him a good pension.
He seems to screw up more than the others, but I don't really think he's any worse. He just has bad luck and people blame him. Poor Sakaki. He's pretty worried when Robin arrives because he thinks she's come to replace him.
Best moment: The killer bugs attacking him on his motorbike. That was a great piece of animation.

Doujima

Name: Yurika Doujima
Age: 18
Latin Word: ridere (To laugh, or to smile)
Occupation: STN-J team member.
Spends most of the Series: Arguing with the Boss
Defined by: Her lateness
Appearance: Blonde hair, fashionable clothes.
History: Sketchy. She works at STN-J and has for a while. Her father is in a high position and got her the job, but she never does any work, but even she has her own secret agenda.
Notes: She's nice, but a little bitchy at first, but she's only human, after all. She spends most of her time shopping, reading magazine and getting yelled at by the boss, but since everyone else is so uptight and serious it's a welcome change.
So, in all, she doesn't pull her weight most of the time but can be counted on when it's needed most.
Best Moment(s): Right at the end in the last episode (in the lift). If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean.


Michael

Name: Michael Lee
Age: 16
Latin Word: captivo ('the prisoner')
Occupation: STN-J's resident hacker.
Spends most of the Series: Surfing the net, doing whatever teenage boys do.
Defined by: His oh-so-sexy Mullet hairdo
Apearance: The aforementioned hair, very girly clothes (I always wondered, if Yurika does his shopping why he doesn't wear anything more fashionable?). Tinted glasses. Usually earphones, listening to loud rock music.
History: As a slighter younger version of himself he hacked into the STN-J mainframe, and he was given the choice: work for STN-J or die (with a recruitment plan like that you'd think they'd have more members), so he choose to live as a prisoner, but is forced to remain at the STN-J headquarters, so he doesn't take part in missions.
Notes: He always gets the information needed by the team, and is generally a pretty good guy. He gets on with Robin quite well, because they're both the same sort of age, and sort of outcasts, I don't know, maybe they both just like coffee and doughtnuts (and who doesn't?!).
Best Moment(s): His arrival in Harry's. Without a doubt.


Others

Nagira

Name: Syunji Nagira
Age: Late twenties?
Latin word: audio ('I hear')
Occupation: Lawyer and general good guy.
Spends most of the Series: Avoiding being a lawyer
Defined by: Cigarettes and Wheat Noodles.
Appearance: Like Amon, but without the long hair and with scary triangular sideburns. He also dresses more normally, if expensively.
Notes: A kinda nice guy. I mean, I certainly wouldn't take in some stranger because my amoral half-brother appears and asks me to. He also defends those who are generally abandoned, such as witches, and seems to spend most of his time getting information from a guy that looks like a toad, a guy on a street corner, and another guy in a Pachinko parlour.
He doesn't take himself as seriously as Amon, and occasionally laughs, or shows human emotion, you know, like most people.
He has two assistants, who get annoyed with him, especially Mika, who is convinced that he is having some sort of Lolita affair with Robin (false), and that he isn't doing his lawyer work properly (true).
Best Moment(s): When he tells Amon he'll protect Robin from him at all costs.


Kobari Yuji

Name: Kobari Yuji
Age: Forties?
Latin Word: docere ('to teach')
Occupation: Owner of Harry's.
Spends most of the Series: Serving Drinks
Defined by: Hmm. Not entirely sure. That creepy semi-friendly/semi-psychotic look? I don't know..
Appearance: Wears dark clothes, and there always seems to be enough darkness to put shadows under his extreme cheekbones. Thin, and rather tall.
Notes: He runs 'Harry's', a restaurant/bar close to the STN-J HQ. He is also an Informant for STN-J, and supplies the team with food every now and then.
His son, whom he apparantly betrayed appears in Harry's in episode 10, which makes you wonder about his morals. I mean, is he a good person, or not? Probably one of the best things in this show is that all the characters are human, and make mistakes.
Best Moment(s): Meeting his Son again?

Zaizen:

Name: Zaizen
Age:Fifties..?
Latin Word: arcesso - I summon
Occupation: Big Cheese of STN-J.
Spends most of the Series: Acting Sinister, smoking and being evil to the STN-J team.
Defined by: His cigars, his lighter and his cigar clipper thing, you know, the one that looks like a finger guillotine.
Appearance: Grey hair, suit, that whole business man thing.
Family: His daughter, Touko was Robin's room-mate, presumably so she could spy on her, but that sort of backfired after she was shot and badly injured when Robin's apartment was attacked.
Notes: The antagonist, and general bad guy, although we (okay 'I', but I'm slow..) don't really realise until about halfway through the series...
Best Moments(s): Hmm, I'm thinking, I swear.

That's cool! But I still believe that Haruto is the team's "official bait" and Michael is the "personified junk food vacuum cleaner!" But I only think you'll understand that, Robin! ^_^
