~The Story~

Long ago there was a time when all mystical creatures got along and there was peace through out the world. Then suddenly War struck and everything fell into chaos. Many lost their lives but many also survived. Humans, Elves, Vampires, Werewolves, and many other creatures fight to survive. There is a legend though that once in a new Mystic moon that a child from each race would be born with a pure heart. When these children grow up they would help bring peace to the world once more. Well this New Moon has come and gone and all the children except one knows they have a pure heart. These children have now grown up and yet they do not know who their enemies or friends are. There are going to be good and evil creatures trying to either help or prevent peace from coming.

I stood on the edge of a lake, staring out at the water. A huge moon was reflected across the surface. Starlight bounced off the water and shone on the trees.

I was wondering at the old myths and legends I could remember. One of the most prominent of them was the promise of peace, through the children of purity. All but a few had been found and praised as the Promised Ones.

My own race had been one of those. My family was a highborn clan of faeries. No, we weren't tiny and we didn't have pixie wings. We did have skin that was considered by most mortals to be off-color -- too white, or an odd tinge of light blue. We did have swift speed, swift healing, and our blood had healing properties. We also had the ability of healing minor wounds with our energies.

For this reason, many faeries were hunted, either to be killed for their blood, or to be kept prisoner and ordered to act as the healer.

My mother had been kidnapped and used this way. She had been later killed when her powers grew too weak from overuse.

I was praying for salvation. I was praying for the Promised Ones to bring peace, as my ancestor had so many years ago...

My ancestor, Lunaire de Lenfent, had been Queen of the Faeries, as well as the Promised Child for our race. My family had always carried the hope that our blood would once again produce the offspring necessary for peace and hope.

So far, though, no such child had been found...
