With his parents currently tending to his uncle and Alize busy working on things Eli had been left with little to do. He couldn't go far in case he was needed but there wasn't much within the city that interested him. In the end, after lunch the man had simply taken Uzi and Kell for a run towards the more middle district of Vargash both for exercise and to eat up some of the day. He'd taken them on a long out the way route to test their endurance and avoid Uzi being spotted too much. The essentic might be easy enough to disguise but he'd prefer as few run ins with strangers as possible.

Suddenly Uzi's ears flicked forward as her yellow eyes gleamed then the lion like essentic was off like a shot. Essentic, she thought, speeding down the mostly empty street towards the source of the feeling. The area they were in was filled with dozens of houses under construction but construction crews were done for the day so it was nearly deserted, it'd be easy enough for Uzi to spot the other once she saw them. The armored proto still lacked any major sense of kinship with others of her kind but she was curious about them.

Kell remained calmly by Eli's side, a bit too to tired to chase after Uzi or the interesting scent he now smelt.

Uzi had rounded a corner and spotted a human carrying a basket, the proto slowed to a stop a few feet from the woman and stared intently at the basket. The woman was of no concern to her, Uzi was interested only in the contents of her basket. " Open the basket" the tawny coloured essentic ordered, her voice a low rumble, not threatening but certainly strong. the proto's tail flicking lazily behind her showing Uzi meant no harm at this particular moment anyways. The combat type could become aggressive if denies what she wanted.

Around the corner Eli and Kell raced to catch up, Eli annoyed but not overly worried he doubted Uzi would take off like that for no reason. Of course whatever had caught her attention was probably due for a heart attack.

Uzi's eyes glowed rather bright for a moment " There are no humans other than yourself and Eli in the vicinity, I will know if any come." It was harder to use her thermal vision here but Uzi was sure between sight and smell that she would know if any strangers approached. "You will reveal the essentic." She wanted to know what it was and what it's purpose was, if there was no need to investigate further this woman could hide the other all she wanted. However Uzi would not be denied satisfaction to her curiosity.

When Eli made it around the corner , Kell at his heels the auburn haired man blinked then broke into a grin and waved." Hello Ell" He recognized Ellandra from Banning's ball, she was Faolan's wife if he remembered right and one of the others who'd been dragged off by Banning that night. He felt bad that Uzi appeared to be scaring her but wasn't quite sure what to say, the orange armored proto wasn't really doing anything that he could see.

Kell straying from his master side padded over to the nervous woman and tried to lick at her hand and calm her.

Uzi was somewhat aware of what babies were based on having learned about Sorcha's puppies and what not. Basically small humans were living inside the human woman until they were strong enough to live outside her. The lion like essentic eyed the other careful extended then retracting her claws, she did not like to be told what to do by strangers even when the word please was used. " How does scaring her hurt them?"

How did being scared at all hurt you? Certainly thinking about all the things humans could use to kill her had distressed Uzi but it hadn't actually hurt her in any way.

" You can relax, Uzi's not going to hurt you or um.." Eli didn't know what the other essentic's name was or what gender it was either to be honest " and Kell just drools"

Not that the hound was drooling at the moment, instead he was accepting the pets, wagging his tail and gently nosing the woman's stomach.

Uzi thought that was a horribly bad idea, having babies affected by the mother like that, certainly if the woman died the young would die too but to have them bothered by fear in the blood? " Uzi" the combat type replied " I am a hunter, what is your purpose?" and why did Uzi keep meeting essentics that could fly?

" I am well enough" No need to bring up personal family troubles " and you and the babies?" He always found it so odd to think about women being pregnant unless it was highly visible.

Friend, the other essentic' purpose was to be a friend from how they described it despite the title of mentor Rhian had given the job, or so Uzi thought anyways. " Hunting is tracking down animals to kill, so we can eat them and wear their skin and use their bones to make things."Not that Uzi was capable of any of that behind the actually killing, her proto form too inflexible to be of use for the other things.


Eli reached out to gently squeeze Ellandra's shoulder in sympathy. " You're better now though and that's what's important." It was all he could really say, giving false hope wasn't his strong suit, besides the stronger and healthier she was the better chance her children had of emerging fine. Not that he knew there was a problem so much from her words as from how she looked.

"We are all different" Uzi rumbled, nodding and made her golden mane shake. All different and in her mind not equal but Uzi knew that regardless of what she thought all humans who owned essentics gained use from and that was what was important, that they served their purpose.

Kell made soft wuffing noise and nosed the woman's belly again.

Eli worried about that, dogs and cats were notorious for sensing pregnancy to bgin with but they were equally bad at sensing illness. As it was Kell and the other family dogs were all over his uncle anytime they were allowed near.
He nodded slowly " Just keep safe and follow your doctors orders, though I imagine if you go looking in the right places there are though with holistic approaches that may be of some help." Or really even though with any sort of healing magic.
