Syrelia had been out of the hospital with her two boys only this morning. All through the pregnancy she had been in denial, almost on the verge of pretending that it wasn't happening at all, but now that Gavin and Noah were here... Well, pretending that they didn't exist wouldn't actually work so well at this point.

Needless to say, the witch wasn't prepared at all to deal with two babies. No cribs, diapers, clothing... All they had right now were a teddy bear sent from one of her friends, the onesies the hospital had stuck the boys in, caps, and a blanket each. One of Syrelia's close friends had come to get them so that she wouldn't have to drive home, but now she was left by herself at the house, contemplating what to get.

After making up a list, lamenting that she couldn't just zip to the store on her broom and would have to take the freaking car (she hoped she remembered how to drive it), and being bothered by Lily to tag along, the family of four -- mother, both babies, and big sisters -- all headed down to the store to make the little ones feel more welcome and get what they need.

Armed with a cart and a list, more determined than ever, Syrelia wheeled everyone into the baby store. "Okay. So. Let's do this." Lock and load.

Thali was in Babysrus for one reason, and one reason only. Reiya and Sammi were growing so fast! They needed new clothes. When Darcy and Aaron had said they didn't know how they would grow, thanks to the magic they'd been touched with--she hadn't expected this. It was true--elven children did learn at a faster rate, and spoke earlier than most--but normally they remained small longer. This was something new. Was it because they were half-elf? Or was it something else?

Lost in thought, she nearly bumped into a woman with two little boys. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She veered, and went to apologize. Her eyes settled on the infants. "Twins?" She asked, with a light smile. "They're adorable." She looked at the woman. "They're yours, aren't they?" She asked. "Beautiful babies." She looked to her own, who were sitting in the chart, looking curiously at the people.

"Oh, these are Samantha and Reiya, my twins." She said, still finding it strange that she'd met another person with twins. "Yours are new, aren't they?" She asked. "Need help shopping?"

Syrelia blinked in surprise and jumped back a little at the near mauling of the other cart, almost expecting it to be a surprise from the Azoulais (one never knew and it was best to be prepared), but upon seeing the other woman, a timid, shaky smile spread across the witch's face.

"Oh! Oh -- don't worry about it. These two are mine, yes," the smile turned to one of pride as the woman looked down at her boys. "Gavin and Noah, thank you." She indicated each one as she spoke their names, both babies curled up and asleep. Hey, coming into the world was an arduous task and they deserved their rest, thank you very much.

"And aren't these two darling!" Syrelia laughed, waving a finger at Samantha and Reiya, trying to catch their attention. "I'm, er, Syrelia, by the way. Pleased to meet you. You seem like you have it together, I could use some help, actually."

One of her grey eyes twitched, realizing something. "And it appears I've lost one of my tribe." Lily had wandered off, but it wasn't hard to spot her, the child's head of silver hair visible over by a shelf of baby toys.

The girl was definately a sight; arms full of clothing, ranging from the ages of newborn to four. A couple toys dangled in the mix, one being looped in her bracelet. She looked confused, glancing at the other shoppers. What were those metal things with wheels they were pushing around? How odd...

Jaella shook the hair out of her face, reaching out to add another shirt to the pile. She'd been sent on a supplies run; after all, they couldn't give naked babies to people, could they? And the little ones deserved something to play with; her and Aaron's idea. So here she was, darting about the aisles and trying to balance her ever-growing stack. She skidded to a stop, seeing a familiar face. "Ms. Thali!" she said and, without thinking, waved. Her pile when tumbling to the ground in a mess of clothes and toys.

"Hi Gavin, hi Noah." Thali said, smiling at each of the boys in turn. It was clear that she was good with children, if nothing else. "Maybe you'll be play mates for my two when you're a bit bigger." She said, it didn't matter to her if they were sleeping, she would still talk to them. She was just that kind of elf.

"Oh, I'm Thali." The elf blushed, realizing she hadn't introduced herself. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Syrelia." She absentmindly but a strand of hair behind her ear.

Sammi reached for Syrelia. "Hi!" She said, smiling. "You not a kitty." She pointed out, before setting eyes on Jaella. "Kitty!" She cried, happily. "Kitty! I here Kitty! I sawed Kitty!" She pointed with one chubby finger to Jaella.

Syrelia opened her mouth to reply to both Thali and Sammi when the crash resounded around the store. The witch's head snapped up and her eyes narrowed the second they lay on the one who had caused the commotion -- the girl that had delivered the letter, the letter that had taken her to the Azoulai twins.

"You!" Syrelia near shrieked, pointing in what could be taken as imitation of Sammi, completely caught off guard by the sight of Jaella. Doom. It was doom written on the woman's face and things would not bode well for anyone in the near vicinity.

Jaella was about to greet Sammi when the adult caught her attention. Her ears lowered, tail hanging low. Something about her scared her. "Um....hello, Miss Syrelia..." she murmured softly before bending down, scrambling to pick up her fallen object. "Hey, Mrs. Thali....Sammi, Reiya." Usually, she would have been more happy and more huggy. But, she usually wasn't scared.

"Um...so...I see your twins were born, ma'am. Congratulations... Gavin and Noah, right?" she said, unable to curb her curiosity of the new babies.

Thali frowned at Syrelia. "Hey. Don't shoot the messenger. Jaella's a sweetheart." The poor teen must have been frightened. Poor Jae! The elf pitied her. "Hi Jaella." She said, looking to the teen and offering a bright smile. "It's nice seeing you again."

Sammi reached for Jaella. Her poor kitty, she was sad. "Kitty sad?" She asked, tilting her head cutely. "Kitty need 'ug. 'Ug, Kitty?"

Reiya reached for Syrelia, before a small black rain cloud made it's way over to the woman's head. A tiny peal of thunder could be heard. And yet, the infant was reaching for her.

Syrelia bit her tongue and forced a smile. Deep down, she did feel bad for frightening the teen -- Thali was right, she was just the messenger, after all. But at the same time, Jae was present and it was easy for Sy to take her anger out on the poor girl.

Composing herself, her own babies now awake and looking ready to fuss, her daughter standing off down an aisle watching in curiosity, Syrelia offered a little bow, "My apologies, Jaella. I've been finding myself... tightly wound, as of late. Gavin and Noah, yes. They've both been doing well."

Though not looking so well right now. They may have been bright eyed and curious about the gathering of people, but the noises had them on the verge of tears and all the while Syrelia talked, she was trying to shush them and keep them calm.

The little storm cloud caught her attention -- it was hard not to get her attention, when it was raining on her -- and Syrelia looked from Reiya and Thali with interest. Thali had to be one of the others that the Azoulais had mentioned, if not just for the familiarity with Jae. "Your, um, daughter is raining on me, I think," Sy blinked, reaching out a finger to tickle Reiya's palm gently should the infant let her.

Jaella looked up, offering a small smile as she scrambled to pick up her stuff. "It's okay...it's my fault. I shouldn't have dropped everything all over the place." she said, positive that was the reason the woman was mad at her. "I'm sorry. I'm glad they're doing well, though. Though it looks like I startled them. I'm sorry."

She stood back up slowly, looking over to Sammi and smiling lightly. "No....I'm not sad. I would, but my arms are kind of full. Sorry, Sammi." she said, resisting the urge to use hand gestures as she spoke. She readjusted her hold on the pile, eyes widening a bit at the cloud.

Thali gave a smile to show she was glad that the other woman had calmed down--she was also silently thankful that Sammi wasn't burning the person who'd been mean to her 'Kitty'. "She is." Thali told Syrelia dully. "She does that to people she doesn't like. Or people who've upset her." She amended.

Sammi frowned slightly. "Cawt." She said, pointing to the metal contraption she was sitting in. "Ooo use cawt." It was just silly to carry everything and not hug her, right? That was just silly. Kitty should always be able to hug her, it was the rule.

Reiya looked to the witch, and frowned. Then she did something quite like what her sister would have done, if she'd been upset. She blew a raspberry. Instead of rain now, the cloud was throwing out snow. The infant gave something between a smirk and a giggle. A snickle? Smiggle? She did it all the same.

"It's not because --" Syrelia stopped at the feel of snow on her head now, in the middle of telling Jaella that it wasn't because of her dropping things that had upset the witch so, but because of her association.

The woman cleared her throat and decided to save face, ignoring the raspberry blown at her by the little one. "Here. Take my cart. I can easily get another one and we haven't even begun to go shopping yet." Syrelia was already in the process of lifting both boys out of the cart, her older daughter scurrying over with a timid smile at both the women and other children as she went to help her mother.

Jaella looked at the metal contraption. "So....these cart things are for pushing things around in?" she asked, as if it were some new, foreign concept. Then again, to her, it was. She'd never used one. "Thank you, ma'am." she said, bowing her head once. She sat her pile carefully into the cart, worried that she wasn't doing it right or something.

She then went over to Sammi, giving her and Reiya each a hug. "I'm glad to see you two." she said, nodding. She looked to the little boys, not quite sure if she should try giving them hugs too or not.

Reiya frowned, she wasn't used to getting ignored. She looked over at Jaella, and reached for her. "'Ug, Jae? 'Ug?" She asked, bouncing slightly. When she recieved a hug, her chubby arms wound around the teenager's neck. "I no sweepy dis 'ime." She said, proudly. "We pway, Jae?" She seemed glad that the mean old lady with the weird things--boys, whatever they were, wasn't being mean anymore.

Sammi hugged Jaella as well. "Kitty ceer up." She said, looking at the teenager. "Pwease, Kitty? Dun let Meanie--" She pointed to Syrelia to indicate that she'd given the witch a nickname. "Dun let Meanie huwt you, Kitty. I buwn her good if she do."

Syrelia probably wouldn't have done much if Jaella tried to hug the boys -- she was calming down now seeing that her family wasn't any danger, at least not immediately.

At the new nickname, Lily snorted a laugh and looked at her mother slyly. "Meanie. I like it."

With a frown of mock anger, trying not to crack up herself, Syrelia responded with a snappish, "Hush it, you. Go get the cart. These babies aren't as light as you would think."
