Adelle, despite both her age and size, was learning so fast that her mother couldn't even keep up. The adult would walk into her room with alphabet flashcards and the girl would know it backwards, she'd come in with numbers, and Adelle would have rhymes to help her learn addition, all of which she'd memorized.

Adelle was already trying to bounce out of her mother's arms by the time they were outside the festival, making Adhara chuckle nervously, trying to avoid getting hit with those razor sharp wings... again. As soon as the little girl's hand was stamped, Adhara clipped a pager on the belt of her dress and chuckled a bit. "Now Ady, when you hear this ring, come straight to the stage, alright?" Adhara explained, and the little girl nodded rapidly before giggling and shooting off in the opposite direction, leaving her mother in a daze. Yet, Adhi just chuckled and smile. Yep, that was her little girl. She just hoped that she wouldn't hear anything bad about her later...

It was very crowded here, and amazingly Auryn felt a bit overwhelmed. Really, it reminded her of that time she got lost from Lit when she was younger - all these tall people and things, making it hard for her to "see" properly. She clutched Santana's hand tightly, trying to take in everything as they walked through the masses of people.

"It's ok, 'Ryn," Santana said encouragingly as they meandered. "How about we head over to the arts and crafts? I bet there's a whole bunch of fun things to do over there."

"Kay," she said, looking up at her guardian with a bright smile in her blind eyes.

The crafts table had all sorts of things going down: sand art, painting on a spinner wheel, jewelry making with dried noodles and beads. The one that caught Santana's eye, perfect for his little girl, was a mask-making workshop. Various blank masks were laid out with glue and beads, feathers, fabrics, stickers; sure, there were some finer things Auryn couldn't handle like glitter...but the rest of it? Pure gold.

"Oh wow, Auryn...come on, check this out!" Santana said, sounding more excited than she did.

The little one followed him to the table, giving a squeal of delight at what was presented to her! This was going to be awesome, and together they started on making a mask.

Nothing ever seemed to overwhelm Adelle, to even a higher extent than her mother when Adhara had been her age, little over a year prior. She snapped her wings against her back, not really noticing the pain as the sharp ends poked into her back, darting through the crowds of people much taller than her before she finally found the arts and crafts section, the place where all of the fancy making of things was going on, monitored by people who would make sure she didn't hurt herself. But it wasn't the crafts she was interested in, it wasn't the glitter that held her gaze.

It was the shock of red hair that caught her attention.

She'd never seen anyone with hair so red. For that matter, she'd never seen anyone with red hair at all. Eyes wide and jaw dropped, she made her way to where the girl was seated next to a white-haired man whom she could only assume was the little girl's father, though she couldn't be completely sure, given the fact that the male looked almost nothing like her. Maybe it was her grandaddy. After all, Noah didn't look anything like Adelle, did he?

"You're sooo lucky," Adelle whispered in awe as she approached the little girl and her wolf-like guardian, though the calm in her was dissipating almost as quickly as it had appeared. "You've got a father and such pretty little wings and your cute little tail and, ohmygoodness, your hair is the most prettiest, nicest, most amazing hair I've ever, ever seen before in my life and your eyes-" Suddenly, for the first time in her life, Adelle learned what speechlessness was, as well as shame, in the same instance, the moment that those pale, sightless eyes graced her line of sight.

She turned bright red and looked at the ground, biting at her lip with a fanged tooth nervously. "Y-your eyes are really, really, really pretty, too..."

Auryn would just barely feel the other spawn creeping up on her, giving her some time to glance up...but once she did, her attention was drawn whole-heartedly. Okay, so she hadn't been around long but this wasn't anything she'd seen before, either. The aura of the other young girl swirled with the strangest of patterns that Auryn had ever encountered; the blind girl could make out not just a brightness and darkness in the outline, but two distinct brightnesses.

This was new. This was very, very different. She'd never met someone with so many swirling patterns in their aura before! Abandoning her mask, Auryn stood from her seat and moved closer to the girl...not really registering the words until she felt the shift in her new friend's emotions.

Auryn felt her face redden a bit, but she remained as bold and confident as ever. If anything, it made her stand a little taller and a little...heh, prouder. She was pretty, she knew that...Santana told her all the time what a beautiful little girl she was. To hear it from someone else, though - a total stranger, no less, who was so unique and intriguing - really boosted that itty bitty ego.

"Thanks," Auryn said quietly, but calmly. "That was really nice of you to say."

She resisted the urge to reach out and touch this new person. She was so very, very tempted...but it wasn't polite, or at least that's what Santana always said.

Santana, her guardian, who was standing back, letting the two girls interact. It was so nice with Auryn, not having to worry about her biting someone's head off or trying to rip out their liver. She was always so well mannered and well behaved. He just had to worry about her touching everything, which she wasn't appearing do to...just yet.

His little girl, who stuck her hand out towards the new comer in a friendly gesture; "My name's Auryn...what's yours?"

Adelle brightened when her friend looked more proud than awkward, which meant that she hadn't messed anything up. She flapped her wings happily behind herself before remembering that the girl was blind, which meant that she wouldn't be able to see the wings resembling the blades in a blender, though she could probably feel the wing they stirred up; nice, pretty, feathered, NORMAL wings made the air all windy like that, too, though.

"You're welcome!" she said happily in response, bouncing a bit despite how she was trying to calm herself down; it wasn't exactly easy. After all, the liberality and diligence worked together in the worst of ways, one giving leeway for the other to wreak havoc on Adelle's control of her high levels of energy. "Well, it's not really a big deal. I mean, all of it's true, so you don't really need to thank me I guess," she added, giggling a bit.

Honestly, if Auryn did want to look over her different features with her fingertips, Adelle wouldn't be opposed, but she guessed that was the lust part of her. As her mom had semi-described to her, lust was liking to be touched or snuggled with, which was definitely true for Adelle. She'd also said that there were other attributes, but she wasn't allowed to know what those were until she was a little bit older, despite how much she begged her mother to tell her then.

Adelle giggled when the other introduced herself, reaching out to take Auryn's hand in her own and smiling. "See? Even your name makes you sound pretty!!" she commented excitedly; really, Auryn was the most adorable child she'd ever seen, at least as far as the Facility kids went. Wait... no, that wasn't true; she was the prettiest girl Adelle had seen ever. "My name's Adelle," she replied with a nod. "Adelle Marianna By'arre."

Oh man, did Adelle know how to feed Auryn's ego. She was so happy, feeling so Prideful, that she was almost standing on her tip-toes, leaning in strangely towards the other girl who had promise of giving more amazing compliments.

"Your name is beautiful, though. I've never met anyone with such a long name before. You are very...different."

How did you explain seeing shadows around a person's body to someone who wasn't blind? Even blind people would probably have trouble understanding what it was that Auryn "saw", let alone how strange Adelle was compared to everyone else in Auryn's world.

"We should be pretty girls together!" Auryn finally added a statement all her own to the conversation.

Though the comment had been prompted by Santana nudging Auryn with his foot. He knew, after all, how the little girl could get so wrapped up in hearing about herself that she'd forget to say nice things back.

Adelle giggled happily at how happy the girl seemed to be - how happy all of her compliments were making the other female. Of course, that was Adelle: Always quick to hand out compliments and affection and whatever else needed handing out without even thinking about it beforehand. Such was why she was sure that she and this girl would be fast friends. After all, if it took something as simple as a few compliments to make the other girl happy, how hard would it be! As a matter-of-fact, it would be even easier than making Fitzroy happy; she didn't even need something like food, just her voice!

"Really?" Adelle asked, her sharp wings flapping happily at the idea of being different, as well as having a longer name than any other that the girl had known about. Kammy, the girl's right tentacle, wriggled forward to greet the girl, trying to do its best to reach out toward her but, not bearing any of the strength of its parents or the length, it was unable to do much more than bribe Adelle to step closer, which she did, so Kammy could snuggle up to the redhead, Sutry staying out of this, as he usually did.

"We should be!!" the lust spawn said excitedly, flapping her wings a bit too much before pulling them back in with a strong force of concentration, liberality making her control on the wavering side. When her wings were back in, she wiggled and smiled brightly, letting her tentacle butt up against Auryn's hands. "Kammy's really friendly. But you probably shouldn't mess with Sutry -my ovver tentacoo- 'cause he's kinda mean," she giggled once again and poked at Sutry teasingly, who in turn flailed at her. She smiled back at Auryn. "What kinda pretty girl things should we do? You were makin' masks; we could do that? Or, um, we could find somewhere with pretty dressies and try them on and stuff!" Even realizing Auryn couldn't see, she couldn't help this suggestion. After all, she could advise the girl as well as let her try on the dresses for the feel itself, right?
