 Karma sat inside the HQ. She sighed to herself. She wasn't sure what to do with herself. Fate usually showed her where to go and what to do, but she hadn't seen her signs in over a year.
Was that when Sol left? Maybe Sol took Fate away with him. Karma shook her head, Fate did not work that way! She had to find her again. Karma stood up and walked toward the door of the HQ with a determined look on her face.

 Seth stepped out from his room in the HQ, his nose in a book. A full adult, he still was powerless and seemed to have no interest at the moment of gaining his. Instead, he was more interested in researching why and how these powers came to a Pae'il and how they could be developed.... and then, of course, there was all of his other part time researching projects, such as the history of the island.
Walking down the hall, looking through his leather bound note book with his staff tucked under one arm and a Bird of Paradise bloom tucked behind one ear, he nearly bumped into the other Fae as he continued through deep in thought. Looking up, his face turned a shade of light pink. "P-pardon me, I wasn't watching my step." He gave the female a sheepish, embarrassed smile.

Karma was startled as she was bumped into. "I wasn't either." She said to him, she really hadn't been. Her mind had been lost in thought. "I was just on my way out." She said and turned to leave, but then she felt a nagging feeling she should stay. Was this Fate's sign to her? "I'm Karma." She said as she turned again to face him and forget her quest for now.

"Karma, eh? That's a really beautiful and unique name." Seth gave her a friendly smile. "My name is Seth. I'm so sorry about running into you like that. I was just completely lost in thought." Quickly, he shut the leather bound book he'd been flipping through and tucked it under his arm, pulling his staff out and holding it to his side. "Do you live here? Forgive my inquiry, but it's not very often I meet another Fae."

Karma smiled, "Thanks. Your name is nice too." She hadn't heard it before, so she guessed it could be unique as well. "Oh, it's ok. I'm sure Fate thought it would be funny." Fate loved to do things like that to Karma, and she was used to it.
"Yeah, I live in one of the rooms upstairs. Do you live here too?" Karma didn't know all the pae that lived in the HQ, but she was sure it was a lot. The HQ was even bigger than it used to be.
((Note on Karma, she believes Fate is a real being. lol))

Seth nodded. "Yes, I live here as well on the first floor...." He smiled a little as Karma spoke of Fate, thinking that it was ironicly appropriate that she would talk of and believe in such a thing.
"I'm surprised I've never seen you around before... though I must admit it is a pleasant surprise to meet another Fae. Pray tell.... would you mind if I accompanied you to where ever you were going to?"

"Really?" Well, Karma didn't run into anyone very often. She was a bit of a loner, but that was because she believed Fate would lead her where she needed to go.
"Yeah, I don't see others much." She smiled, as she was happy to meet him as well. "Oh, well, I'm not going anywhere particular. I was just going to let Fate lead the way as usual. She led me to you." She nodded happily.

Seth felt his cheeks heat up and he was sure that the blush on his face was making his cheeks look orange in tint now. Even though he was sure that it wasn't intended to be taken as 'flirting' it certainly could have sounded like it. "I see... Well, I'm glad that Fate allowed us to meet. She certainly works in strange ways...."
He certainly was a little awkward around females, and even though he could speak eloquently, he was always nervous on the inside as to if he were to make a mistake and offend. He was far better with writing down history and facts than he was with talking to others. "Please.. forgive my awkwardness.... I don't normally have a chance to speak with others...."

"Oh, yes, indeed." She smiled, "But, it always works out in the end." Karma didn't always understand Fate, but always believed in her. Even after she found love and then lost it, to her Fate just wanted her to be able to recognize it again if she did come across it a second time.
"You're doing fine." She giggled and patted his arm. "Do you want to go on a walk or something?" It was a little crowed in the hall and Karma loved the open air.

He smiled a little, looking at her gratefully for the words of encouragement. "I'm glad I've yet to embarrass myself." His smile widened a little. "A walk would be absolutely wonderful...."
He may have been socially awkward, but he did know about chivalry. Shifting all of his leather bound journals to one arm, he offered his elbow to her, hoping that she wouldn't take things the wrong way. "So where did you have in mind for walking?"

Karma smiled, "Nope, you have not embarressed yourself." She didn't think he really could. Karma didn't mind shyness or anything like that.
She took his arm and led him out the door. She then looked around for a sign, "I usually look for a sign from Fate on where to go. Do you see any?" She asked as she looked around.

Seth nodded, glad to know that he was doing quite well socially. "Well.... I don't know anything about receiving signs from Fate herself... but I've been meaning for a while to explore the swamps to see what I can find. I like documenting things...."

"Well, maybe that is the sign." She smiled, Fate's signs weren't always clear. "The swamps it is." She started walking before she realized she had no clue where they were. "Do you know which way?" She asked him before walking any farther.

Seth didn't feel comfortable telling Karma the reason he was going into the swamps, so he was glad she wasn't asking him but rather simply agreeing to go along with him. "They're off this way...." He gestured off to his left, then waited for Karma to join him, since she had started to wander off elsewhere.
He pulled out from the pile of books and papers a small map that he had made and a bounded notebook. Earlier he had found an acorn in these swamps and recently it had hatched into a child with hooves for feet and no wings. Not to mention the little nubs at the top of her head which were probably going to sprout into some horns. At the moment, he'd put the child down for a nap where she would stay for the next few hours sound asleep.

Karma giggled and then changed directions so she was going the right way. She really had no use for directions since she just followed Fate.
Karma then saw the notebook and other things. "What's all that?" She asked him. She was interested in it, it look all complicated and such. He must be a rather intelligent pae to have all this.
