Every once in awhile you come across a thread where the author bashes people for being fat or simply announces that they do not think fat people are attractive...an example of that kind of thread:

This is the second thread Zombie_Pirate_LeChuck has made, indicating that he does not find overweight women attractive in the least...his first thread was deleted. How many times does he feel he has to publicly announce that he doesn't find fat people attractive?? What is he trying to accomplish with repeating this declaration over and over again?

Well if you take the time to read some of the posts, particularly from the author and Sukebei *the infamouse Irish dude who enjoys being rude and sarcastic simutaneously*, you can see that it's not a matter of asking why some people are attracted to overweight people and why some are not...Zombie_Pirate_LeChuck wasn't trying to spark an intellectual conversation about the attractive attributes of someone who is thin compared to someone who is fat, he just used his thread to insult those of us who are overweight *in fact he admits he's purposely being naieve/ignorant because it's entertaining*. I'm sure the thread would have continued being insulting/taking cheap shots if it wasn't for The_Irkin_Army/kristinarr/Fuzzeh/myself posting...we killed the thread with civility and maturity, not by getting upset and calling Zombie_Pirate_LeChuck a ******** for being so ignorant. Sukebei and Zombie_Pirate_LeChuck didn't seem to know how to handle our approach to their taunts of overweight people and so the thread is at a stand still...we don't know how long, but for now the insensitivity has stopped.

SOOoo having said all of that, I wanted to know how all of you feel/react when you see a thread bashing overweight people...do you give the author of the thread a piece of your mind? Do you choose not to say anything because you know it will get you no where? Do you privately PM the asshats who insult those of who are chubby? And how do you feel about people constantly insulting/looking down on us for not meeting their standards of beauty? How do you feel when someone dismisses you/what you have to say based on the fact that you are overweight?

Let me know what you think...discuss if you are inclined to wink

I don't know if it will change his mind...he seems to enjoy hating on fat people, women especially.

Just because he cannot see the beauty that a bigger woman has does not mean that bigger women are not beautiful.

I just hate when they do that too. Most the people in America are overweight by the Body Mass Index (..so roughly 60% I heard somewhere). Its stupid to hate someone just for being fat. I think ultra skinny people are undesirable but I wouldn't hate them for it. People come in all shapes and sizes! gonk

i believe society has decided to say a skinny girl is beautiful but when they break her plivic bone trying to have rough sex they have no right to complain to us.....i say pity them for the closed minds.....we have beauty from the inside out.....we are true beauty and if someone can't see that then that is there choice....if the choose to bash us we already know with the intellect we carry we can simply talk to them and they will either fear us or agree....i believe i am just restating a few things....i have never ran into those things on the internet but my home town is swarming with it.....

when someone says something like 'your opinion on this doesnt count because youre fat' i sit on them

or at least threaten to.. then i go into them with a bunch of facts like 'were people too, we're just more attractive than you xP'

and i generally make a joke out of what they just said.. or i make the joke that they put at me into a bigger one

its not a big deal to me.. people are stupid and they prove it to me on a regular basis.. *shrugs*

Hmph. I didn't read the post, but I can get an idea of what to expect. I see multiple possiblities for multiple things dealing with multiple outcomes. In short, I have a few things to say, I do not know how you all wil react. Relax, it's good. Just, weird.

1. Most likely, said offender is either overweight himself, and picking on others to increase his self-esteem, or he LOVES overweight people and want to set an image about himself. Reverse psychology.

2. People who love thin people do not know what they are missing. In theory, an overweight person is considered "unattractive" by today's standards (good thing I do not comform to said standards. 3nodding ). Because they do not have an appealing appearence in a pathetic, shallow society, they increase other qualities- I.E. their mind. They become sophisitcated, intelligent, creative, original. Now, I am not saying all fat people are smart, and all dumb people are stupid, I am saying that psycologically (spelling?) one would try and obtain at least one positive attribute. If someone is very attractive by today's standards, they do not need to worry about other forms of abilities. Hence, they do not look to books and tend to be mean.

3. Crystallis Syndrome. It is a disorder I created for one of my characters. This disorder hinders various positive traits in a person. An example is beauty, another height, another intelligence. The hindering stops at a certain age and releases the trait very rapidly. It occurs most often in people who look "ugly", but become "beautiful". Why am I mentioning this? Because weight is also affected. an overweight person's true beauty will not come out until a certain age. For most people here, they surpassed that age, and are already beautiful. Because of the theory mentioned in part 2, they have added traits that were not affected by the syndrome, therefore even more ideal than they were originally intended. Right, that was wierd, sorry. sweatdrop

4. Why would someone judge by something that can b changed so easily? I have been trying to answer this question for years. Hundreds of people are superficial, and it raises my ire. Even I succumb to shallowness, and I hate myself for it. Yet, one's appearence can change so easily. Sometimes better, most times worst. Why not judge by something that cannot be changed so easily: the mind. It is difficult to change how someone thinks, therefor the mind can last a long time.

5. Look, larger women = a soft body. What would you rather sleep with: a stick, or a pillow?











That is all I have to say.

Yeah, it's upsetting what he's saying, but you showing your upsetness and fustration is what's getting him off.
