Quidel knew he was not allowed to walk away to far from his mother but with 9 more siblings it was kind of easy to sneak of. Quidel was not the brightest and he was way to curious for his own good. Quidel was also the only cub in the litter that was red the others all had colors from both his mom and dad and even other colors but not red.
Being special and all Quidel tought he could do what he wanted but he was a pup after all and usually all pups tought they knew everything. He sniffed some grass and picked up a scent he hadn't felt before but the scent didn't come from anyone in his family it was someone or something else.
Ohhh how great a new scent! then the pup just had to keep following it and see who it did belong to.

Once again Tendaji had gotten away from his family but it was getting harder and harder, One would think mom doesn't trust me he thought sarcastically. This was in fact the fourth time that he had snuck away and each time his mother scolds him, saying how the rouge lands were dangerous and he knew that but he was growing up and stuff. This time he was not far from where the family was resting for midday, with in yelling distance at least, if not viewing distance. The day was a nice dry, warm day, a perfect day for looking for trinkets. He actually had quite a collection now but the more his family travels, granted not very far, the more he becomes picky about what he decides to keep. This time he found a old tooth, triangular in shape and razor sharp on two of the edges. Wonder where it came from? He thought as he looked down at his find.

The pup followed the scent he didn't even know how far he had wanderd of since all he could think of was to find the scent. Silly as he was he continued walking with his black little nose sniffing. And he continued to follow it until he found the owner for it. It was something big green and grey looking with some white one...
Quidel just starred...was that a lion? it was just so big. Awsome he tought and the pups tail started to move back and forth.
" Wow! "
Quidel didn't think of the possibility of being eaten at the moment since he was to busy with admiring the other animal.

Tendaji was getting better at learning to pay attention to his surroundings even while he was focused on something else so he heard the light rustling of the grass but just shrugged it off as the wind, a nice wind had in fact started to lightly blow, teasing Ten's growing main. It was not until someone said 'Wow' that Ten realized that he had company. He was getting better at being surprised because he didn't make a sound like he normally does, he just jumped a bit which was hard since he was siting, and his heart beat raced for a bit.
It didnt take him long to spot a small red and black creature in the grass, "Um Hi?" he said uncertainly.

Quidel tought "oh s**t the other one noticed me" when the other one noticed him. At first he tried to hide in the grass but he figured it was no idea since he had already spotted him.
" Umm hallo...you are not going to eat me are you? "
He didn't know what the other one was thinking he might well be a good snack or something fun to play with. Well he hoped that the lion was friendly or else his mother was going to get very mad at him.
" I followed someones scent and i ended up here... "

'Eat him! Eat him?' Tendaji thought as he studied the other boy, for it was a guy because now that Ten was paying attention he could tell even if he didn't know what he was. "Why would I eat you? One I just ate. Two... well there is no two, well nothing I can't say that would be nice anyway." He tried to figure out just what kind of animal the boy was but all he could tell was that he smelled like nothing that Ten had before. "Who and what are you?" he asked curiously before answering the little red boy's second statement, "I've been told that it is not a very good idea to do that, at least by your self." Ten took a quick look around then added in a conspiratorial whisper, "But I do it all the time, mom is never happy when I go wondering."

Quidel's ears popped up and he listend to what the other creature had to say. So he wouldn't eat him? well that was a relief. Quidel slowley sat up as he felt more safe now.
" Umm i am a wild dog...have you never met anyone like me before? "
The pup seemed surprised the other one was a lion and he was bigger he tought he would have met many diffrent creatures and gone on adventures like no one would even try to dare to go on.
" Well i sometimes don't listen to my parents "
The pup grinned and seemed proud of his decision.

Tendaji gave a little start, this little boy was a wild dog like Huni? Normaly little jumps in logic like that were easy for him but for some reason connecting this little red and black pup with the white and brown crafter back at the pride. "Well yes, there is a wild dog back in the pride, but he is and adult and.... well I guess I just didn't make the connection." Ten looked a little embarrassed over his mistake so when the little wild dog mentioned parents and listening he gratefully changed subjects.
"Momma always is telling me that a 'young cub' like me shouldn't wander off since is so dangerous. But I think its because she is a bit overprotective, sort of." Tendaji shifted from paw to paw knowing that what he just said was not the full truth so he quickly added, "Well that is not fully true since I know that not all others are friendly and to someone as young as us it could be dangerous if we did meet others like that, but I like to think that I can take care of myself." As he finished his sudo-speech Tendaji realized that he neglected one of the main things his mom taught him, his manners. "Oh my name is Tendaji by the way."

Quidel nodded as he listend to what the lion had to say about his family...hmm maybe all parents was the same then? worring about there cubs not getting hurt. But sometimes they where indeed overprotective.
" Yeah...well i have 9 siblings so it's not difficult for me to sneak away heh~~ "
His poor mother was to busy taking care of all of the others that one could slink away sometimes. Tough Quidel was the only oen being red..
" But you are big! i am sure you can take care of yourself "
Oh he hadn't said his name either..
" I am Quidel! nice to meet ya! "

"Wow nine siblings? I only have six, four sisters and two brothers, and even that many can drive me nuts sometimes." Tendaji said with amusement in his voice. He really did love his family even if they drove him a little nutty sometimes.
"Me big? Nope I still have to grow quite a bit... Now my big brother Udo is big, sometimes I think he can do anything." Ten said with just a little hero worship in his voice. "Korrin is smaller but that's because Mama adopted him... come to think about it Udo is adopted too." He shrugged his diamond marked shoulders, showing that he didnt really care about the parentage of his two older brothers.
"Likewise Quidel!" He said while his paws fiddled with the object that he found, it was a old shark tooth but Ten didnt know that.

Yeah they where a lot. But to him it was normal specially when he was younger when they all wanted to eat at the same time and you always had to get a paw in your face when you where trying to get to the food..
" Well i think you are big...you are much bigger then my parents "
So to Quidel Tendaji was the biggest one he had met and actually talked to.
" Oh what is that? "
He pointed towards the object that Tendaji had found..

Tendaji just shrugged when Quidel still thought he was big, everyone has the right to their own opinion. He just smiled, thinking that this little pup had quite a bit to still learn, this coming from a cub who still sneaks away when ever he can. When the little wild dog asked about his newest find Ten answered truthfully, "Don't really know, it looks kinda like some of the things that wash up occasionally at home but we are a long way away from water so I dont think its what I'm thinkin' it is."
The lion cub was indeed right in his original thought, it was a shark tooth. But unlike the newer ones that can occasionally be found at any beach, it was a much older version from some long extinct shark. While he was trying to figure out what it was he was also thinking if he should keep it, after all if it was what he thought it was then he could get one from the beaches of home.

Well Quidel didn't know much about the world just yet he had yet to learn many things specially who was big and who was smaller. He looked at the newfound thing that Tendaji was holding...it looked like a tooth but a strange one.
" I think it looks like a tooth but a tooth from the water? that sounds strange "
He didn't even know if fishes had teeth maybe they did? he imagained a big ugly fat fish infront of him but with strangley shaped teeth it looked rather funny to him. He sure hoped he didn't have to meet a fish that looked like the one in his imagination.

Tendaji nodded when Quidel gave his suggestion. "That doesn't sound strange, I've found stuff like this rarely on the beaches at home but," He looked up at the grass lands all around, "there is no water near here, or no salt water. So I don't know what this thing is even though I really want to say its a tooth like the ones from home." He fiddled with it for a little longer but finally decided that, like many others, he would not take it home with him. "Um... Do you want it? What ever it is? I'v kinda only got enough space, and like I said I can find things like this at home." Ten pointed to the little leather bag hanging on a thong around his neck.

Well Quidel had never seen the ocean before and he didn't know what a beach was either. But when the lion asked if he wanted it his eyes got bigger and he gasped.
" Really?! can i have it? "
He had never gotten anything from anybody before well not something like that. The things he had found was just boring or normal things that you found at the savannah.
Quidel wagged his tail back and fourth and gave the lion a big smile with his tiny sharp teeth.
