*Coda laid in the grass of the park with is doll on his stomach and his favorite spirit, incidently his father's spirit, Looking down on him from above. He held his doll up over his head and looked at it, wondering whether or not it was true that he was getting too old for the doll as everyone in his family seemed to claim.* Maybe I just need... somebody to play with! I mean, somebody... who's not a spirit or a doll... *The sprit seemed as if it quite strongly disagreed* *Coda looked around the park to see if he could try, again, to make a friend.*

Vali tumbled forward as he was dropped once again by his twin brother. "That's it Vor, I'm not letting you take me on any more of your flying attempts." He ducked as Vor swooped down and tried to grab him. "No Vor." Vali scrambled towards the nearest tree, tripping over something in the process. He looked behind him and realized he had tripped over a little boy. "Oops, sorry about that."

Coda blinked in surprise as someone seemed to come apperently out of nowhere, then looked up and noticed something flying in the sky. "Ah, no problem. I'm used to... my sisters walking all over me, though I guess that would be literal now wouldn't it." He fiddled with the doll, thinking for a moment on how odd the situation was, then pointed to the boy's elbow. "I think you scrapped yourself. There's blood."

Vali stood up and looked at his elbow. "Eh, it's nothing. I've gotten worse from my brother's practice flights. Usually they end with me injured on the ground." He pulled a hankerchief from his pocket and began cleaning himself off. "I'm Vali by the way, what's your name?"

Coda stared at him for a second the smiled, still fiddling with his doll. "My name's Coda. I'm used to fighting going on around me too, though I usually don't get involved in it. In fact, I'm practically the only one in my whole family who doesn't fight on a daily basis, though everyone does it for different reasons." He suddenly hoped feverently that his spirit would would remain hidden for once. Spirits tended to be nastily jealous creatures and he was enjoying talking to someone who wasn't trying to get a fight out of him. At least, he didn't seem to be... yet anyway.

Vali plopped down into the grass next to Coda. "Nice to meet you Coda. I'm not too fond of fighting myself. Dad tends to do all the fighting in my family, Mom spends her time trying to get me to play with Vor. Vor always wants me to go on his test flights so usually I say no." He plucked a nearby flower and laid on his back. "I'd rather stay on the ground until he learns to fly properly."

He glanced up at the sky again. "Flying is a big thing in my family too. I'm kinda indifferent about it." He thought about it then added somewhat nonchallantly "The spirit's like to fly. They like flying a lot, but their version of flying... is scary. My dad calls me a chicken cause I don't take risks." He added hastily. He didn't know what to make of the fact that the boy... Vali... had decided to sit down next to him so indignantly. He didn't mind, he liked it. He just didn't want to scare him away.

Vali looked up from his flower. "Flying is my mom's thing. Dad can't fly, he's trying to teach me to fight. I don't want to though." He rolled onto his stomach and looked at Coda. "Want to play a game?" He smiled at the boy.

Coda blinked at the revelation that his father was wrong. He wasn't abnormal for not wanting to fight afterall. "Sure!" He sat up and put his doll in his lap, criscrossing his legs. "What kinda game did you have in mind?"

Vali pulled himself into a sitting position, his legs bent underneath him. "How about hide and seek? Me and my cousin Tye used to play it all the time. Whenever I won she gave me a kiss on the cheek." Vali grinned. "But she's all grown up now and Daddy says that a grown up doesn't have time for hide and seek." His face fell and he stared at the flower in his hands.

Coda bounced excitedly. "I love Hide and go Seek! Except for whenever I play with my sisters they always pin me down to the ground when they find me... or sometimes if I'm looking for them they'll jump out and tackle me. I don't like playing that way very much. I have tea parties at home with my dolls and my spirits... my dad doesn't like that much either. But I say we play! Um... without the tackling part."

A snicker was emited from the young equifox. "Yes, without the tackling part. What's wrong with having tea parties? I like tea, especially when Noah makes it." Vali stood up and brushed the dust and grass from his pants. "So which of us is hiding first?"

He held the doll above his head for a moment and thought about it. "You hide, I'll seek. So, then, what are the rules? We have to have rules, right? Unless you want to play the way one of my sister plays without rules. But she always win when we play like that."

Vali looked at the doll curiously. "Usually me and Tye play by our regular rules. No hiding inside the house, no using magic to hide yourself, your feet have to stay on the ground unless you're climbing up something and the winner gets a kiss from the loser." He braided the flower into his black hair and looked at Coda.
