It was a first, going to a lake. Mauja had never been to one before, and was urged by a stranger that he must go see one. Although, that stranger seemed to want to get rid of him quickly.....
Whatever the case, Mauja strode around the water proudly, taking long strides as he gazed at his lanky reflection. It was hot, though, and other than ostracizing himself, Mauja had little to do for entertainment. And what was life without entertainment?
Bored with himself, he wandered over to a swaying tree, one not nearly tall enough for him to jump out of, unfortunately. Feeling crushed, he curled himself around the base of it.

Maaz had been enjoying the day, well, for the most part. He'd gone on a hunt earlier, when it was still night. The stars had told him exactly what to do. The stark white leopard had been quite pleased with himself when he'd snatched a young gazelle from right beneath its mother's nose. They never even saw him coming. In the early hours of the morning, as the sun was just coming up, he'd found himself a peaceful little area. A small but vivid lake was surrounded by tall grasses and trees; this would be the perfect place to hold down fort for a few days.
It had taken some effort, but eventually he had lugged what remained of his catch onto a high branch of a leafy tree. He had settled in on that same branch, his white frame hidden for once in the high leaves. The male let out a content sigh as he languidly licked dryed blood off of his paws. Slowly, but surely, his pale blue eyes fluttered shut, and Maaz floated off into the land of dreams, exhausted from his night.
Rustle...rustle...
Maaz's eyes snapped open as a jarring sound found its way to his ears. Quickly, his head snapped around. All seemed ok, he was still in the tree, his meal was just as he had left it... Well then what was the source of the disturbance. With a snap, his sight moved down to the ground. And there it was. A lump of brown was laying at the base of the tree he'd decided to call home for the day. This did not please the leopard at all. He scowled at the other creature before letting out a call,
"'Ey! You there, find your own damn spot, this one's taken."

Shifting his ears back, Mauja kept his eyes closed. Oh, now just what would an angered leopard do if someone didn't do what he wanted them to?
It excited Mauja extremely, but he had a giddy desire to climb into the tree himself and pretend to flirt with the upset boy. Oh, so many options! Though the latter option usually ended badly, especially with males. They just couldn't take a joke, could they? Something about pride and whatnot...
Continuing to ignore the boy, Mauja moved his tail back and forth in the cool grass, a smirk gradually growing upon his face.
He was going to enjoy this, that was for sure.

"Seriously?"
The white animal's ears pressed back hard onto his head. Maaz grumbled as his pale blue eyes narrowed into little slits. Now this was an annoying situation. He just wanted some peace, and here was some lanky idiot crowding up his space.
"Seriously."
Maaz spoke as he exhaled a breath, his tone an exhausted and fed up one. He continued to glare down at the cheetah, his frustration growing as he noted that the other creature was ignoring him. A weedy little smirk was growing on the brown cat's face. Maaz bristled with distaste for the other... How childish.
"Right then..."
He huffed out his nose and shook his head. Two could play at this game; he wasn't going to cave. He was bubbling with anger on the inside, but he wasn't about to let it spill over and give in. He put his head down on his crossed paws, not another word out of his mouth, but his eyes still trained on the cheetah.

Ah, summer days could feel so nice. Especially when spent in the shade of a wonderful tree.
Mauja had already decided that he wouldn't think about the white blob above him; he knew that it angered the cat just enjoying the space he was in.
He moved back a bit, outstretching his legs and making a point to rub his back all over the base of the tree, still ignoring the existance of the leopard above him.
Oh no, he wouldn't lose this game. Mauja never lost games like this. His temperment was too calm to allow it, and he could feel the rage boiling in the air above him.

It was a good thing Maaz had excellent self control, because what was going on inside of his mind was the complete opposite of the current situation. In his head, Maaz had painted himself a beautiful picture. He had jumped down there, landed ontop of the frail little cheetah, and continued with happily clamping onto his throat and suffocating the life out of him. Back in reality, Maaz closed his eyes for a few moments, a smile of calmness spreading over his features.
But as the cheetah stirred beneath him his smile faded. Once again he was reminded that he wasn't alone. Maaz's tailed flicked about in annoyance, but he kept his jaw clenched in silence. No. Way. Two stubborn creatures in a stand off. What would be the outcome?

It was so pleasurable annoying others. Well, males specifically. Females usually wanted to cuddle up to him, and Mauja certainly didn't want a stubborn 'ole leopard cuddling up to him.
Or did he....?
Quickly twirling himself around, Mauja sat upright, his eyes trained on the white ball of fluff above him. He was mainly observing, to see if he was the type who'd want to be cuddled.
Although, it really didn't matter to Mauja whether he was or not. It all depended on if he himself was in the mood for it.
"Hey, lovely!" he called up, a smirk growing on his maw. "Why don't you come down here and have some fun with me?" he cocked his brow at him, a devious look appearing now.
