(Note about the chapter numbering: Every little thing I writer, including the prologue, is a chapter. Thus, this chapter is the second one. If I write a random omake, that'll also be a chapter even if I pretend it isn't.)

One of his earliest memories was of standing outside a huge house, wondering if he should knock or not. His uncle had sent him here for one reason or another, but...
He was not sure he had the right address.
Because, right in front of him, painted on the door, were the words "Rock" and "Heart." That probably meant this was the Rockheart Clan's mansion.
...And the Rockheart Clan was one of the most famous Adept clans in the region. Maybe his uncle forgot that, or something.
In the end, he did not need to knock.
"Excuse me," she had said. Standing behind him was a girl two inches shorter then him and a whole lot younger. Her brown hair was messy, and her skin bore all the signs of a child who liked being outdoors.
"If you're going to go in, you should go in." She advised him, smiling crookedly, before stepping past him and opening the door.
It closed behind her.
A second later, very hesitantly, he knocked on the door.
It opened a crack, and a brown eye peeked out at him. "Yes~?"
"Can I come in?"
"I'm sure you could, if you tried." She sounded very amused.
Apollo, however, was not. So, with all his twelve year old manliness, he pushed the door open.
Having been waiting for him, the girl grinned. "Now, that wasn't so hard, was it?" She asked, then walked away.
"...What do I do now?" He asked, confused. Not sure if he should follow her or not. Not sure even who she
was.
"I have no idea. Maybe you should talk to my father," she suggested idly. "After all, you're obviously not a messenger, you're not a diplomat, and you're
probably not a suitor."
"...So where is your father?"
"He's in his study."
"Where is that?"
The girl looked over her shoulder, flashed a smile, and took off running.
Cursing, Apollo had to run after her. Were all Adepts this insane?!
