(The below has been resolved. Now released to you. This info was deemed classified at one point. Read one of the many goings on behind The Council Chambers walls.) Ok. So I was looking in the guild member log (Scar had just recently said he was a savant and I was going to check his status (Not that I don't trust him but I wanted to see who he was savant to. [looks like shiro]) And I saw NIB in the member log.....he looked kind of strange to me (No shirt and no head gear at all.) So I clicked on him and went to his profile. http://www.gaiaonline.com/p/10865781What the ********? He looks to have been hacked. What should be done?

After reading this i thought nothing much of it since NiB does change its look every so often, however it was not long till i started being concerned about it.
So i logged on as our Guardian...And to my surprise most of its 'expensive' equipables were gone. Noticably the iconic Death Whisper. I looked into it and such items have not been traded away nor have they been sold in the market, according to the Store Logs anyway..
Troubling thing is no one other than Council Members and Savants could access the password to log in.

Bitinged After reading this i thought nothing much of it since NiB does change its look every so often, however it was not long till i started being concerned about it.
So i logged on as our Guardian...And to my surprise most of its 'expensive' equipables were gone. Noticably the iconic Death Whisper. I looked into it and such items have not been traded away nor have they been sold in the market, according to the Store Logs anyway..
Troubling thing is no one other than Council Members and Savants could access the password to log in.
He deffinately seems to have been hacked. If they weren't traded or sold it's the only logical explination. (I have never logged into NIB before but for such a thing as this to happen to NIB is to disgrace our guild.)

Dang it!
Ok...I'm calm. First, I'm going to check for myself...I donated the Death Whisper, and bunches of other things....I'd like to see what all has been taken--though, I do want to reassure everyone--we've had wonderful experiences with Mods over incidents like this. Katie's password was WAY too easy--and she was consequently hacked. Her items were returned, both Scar and Ash have been scammed--and THEIR items been returned...so it's quite possible for mods to investigate and find out EXACTLY what's been taken--and it will be returned.
In the meantime--we need to decide two things--first, if we WANT all council members to have access to the guild mule--and secondly, someone needs to change the password, to something more complicated than it was.
*goes off to see what the lousy thieves have taken*
Ok...I've signed in and I'm pleased to see at least several Durem shirts etc are still there. I was going to go ahead and report the hacking, when I found out that the e-mail address is no longer active, and evidently needs to be changed. It's Arionis' of course, since this was his personal mule before he donated it for Guild Purposes....obviously, I'm more comfortable with him changing anything of that nature.
It finally occurred to me, that perhaps we had better contact him directly and ask him to do so.
Chou-I'm glad you posted this topic, as first we do need to ascertain whether or not a guild member has perhaps "borrowed" the Death Whisper... stare Obviously any "borrowing" needs to be done through the trading system to avoid just such a situation....which is at least the appearance of impropriety.
I've PM'd Ari to ask him to change the e-mail and I've asked him to remind me of what all expensive items were on the Mule's account. I'm HIGHLY confident that a mod will be able to tell us exactly what happened...though it would be nice if the guilty party came forward voluntarily first, rather than risk a banning.

Yay!! HUGE sigh of relief!! It was a TOTAL accident--everything's ok--I'll replace the Death Whisper--it was NO big deal at all--Ari just PM'd me to say--basically he had a vague memory of having borrowed the Death Whisper--but he forgot all about it and later sold it! (oops!) The poor boy was so distraught he's offered to give me back my BIRTHDAY presents to him--silly silly boy...I canceled trade stare Those were GIFTS...lol! (Ari, if you no longer want either of them--ask May if SHE'D like them! -or of course, you could sell one or both and get yourself and her several things)
I am just SO relieved that the mule wasn't hacked! I mean, I had EVERY confidence that a mod could and would sort it out--but if it had been hacked, that meant SOMEone had ill intent--instead--there was absolutely NO ill intent what-so-ever, this was a pure 100% and totally understandable accident. *Whew*!

Well thats good to know...However i guess that we should use this as a caution, maybe changing the password of the Mule every so often ?...

We just got home....*sigh* seriously distraught niece...I'll be heading out to her former residence (a.k.a. the JERK's house) tomorrow morning to help as she picks up the last of her things....I've been firmly told that a bat is not appropriate to bring along...I disagree, but I will submit nonetheless. What is so freaking hard to understand about fidelity?? *growl*
Sorry--WAY off topic there....I'm still quite angry on my niece's behalf. Ari PM'd me earlier about the guild mule; he would like me to take charge of it, changing e-mail, password etc I told him I would. I've been thinking about it...it seems to me that it couldn't hurt to have two or even three guild Mules--and to have very limited access to them...perhaps as few as three or even two people PER mule....that way, there should always be SOMEone available if the mule(s) is/are needed...but access is severely limited--if one were somehow successfully hacked, the guild wouldn't be as inconvenienced as it would be if it's only mule were hacked.
This should be discussed. Ari also offered me the guild....which shocked me--I mean, I love the guild, three outta four of my kids love this guild and are involved! Of COURSE I want to be as involved as I can be--for their sakes--as well as many others here...but ...but...ARI started this guild! It finally dawned on me that he had passed the captaincy to Kaze already--and has told us he wanted to take a more laid back role...and only after that thought finally occurred to me, I said I would offer to buy the guild, but asked if he might promise to STAY HERE! 3nodding xd
He replied that he would never sell the guild (which reassured me that his commitment hasn't lessened any *Whew!* so I needn't have worried about his getting bored with gaia and/or leaving...which as I said, was a great relief!)....not that running a guild would be like a HUGE burden or anything...and it's always good to be involved in the lives of your kids...but there's involved, and there's INVOLVED ya know?!? rofl It's kinda NICE that I can spend most of my time in the MP--and back read to catch up--lurk as much as I want, no need to post....etc. I'll be only too happy to step up to the plate in any way that's needed of me to help---and I told Ari so...he replied that he did want me to take charge of the guild mule--so expect a little revamping on that. Ari suggested that I and I alone have the password...but perhaps we should discuss this? I'd be entirely comfortable with at LEAST Ash having the password, she's my Savant! Addressing multiple issues at once.
No, Chou, Bity shall not be a secondary Savant, and Rose and Rave are both already Elder Council members.
I don't even know why you would bring that up when it goes in such contrast to our clan laws.
Yes, Aileeya, I want you to hold Nightmare's password. Ash is your Savant, and as I have said, Savant's are to keep their Elder's secrets, so she may too know the password.
No one else.
And yes, before anyone asks, I AM the smexayiest leader ever.

I may be mistaken, but I think chou meant that Bity--and whomever is his Elder should have access to NIB...though, perhaps he meant one Elder, and one Savant--Bity being the Savant....I can certainly understand why Bity would be a good choice--he's active....so is Ravenna, and she's his Elder (as I was recently informed) So, I can see why it might seem a good idea to let them have access....since if I'm out of town--chances are-Ash is with me.
On the other hand, I'd be only too happy to help equip a second Guild mule--and then split the inventories--so that we have two mules (perhaps a female?) if you'd rather limit access to one elder and their savant.

Allright, very well.
Mother Aileeya shall be head of the mules, with access to each one, and any new mules created, she will hold decision over who is that mule's Guardian.
Mother Aileeya, upon deciding who is Guardian to which mule, please update the information in a new section in the new thread that I will be making shortly.
We will let everyone know who is in charge of each mule, so they know who to come to.
In much the same way as we have a thread for directly speaking to each Elder Council member, *which Shiro needs to add her own, Mother Aileeya*, the new thread will grant audience to either each Mule itself, or each Guardian.
I have yet to decide between the two options.

Hmmm--seems like a good idea to me! I've tried to maintain a habit of checking in at the Speaking to the Elder Council forum each and every time I enter the guild...so contacting there for a Mule question seems fine to me....though generally, it might be a good idea to send a PM to the Elder themselves if it's not something you can afford to wait for...
