Current Family Tribes:
Family tribes are smaller 'groups' and cultures that live under the En Gedi leadership. These tribes each have their own assigned territory within the pride's lands, they have their own leader, they carry the name of their line's founder, and they are expected to co-exist with one another.

Some lions have not yet started their family tribes and those without their own tribes fall directly under the Tribe of Rotem.



► Tribe of Rotem ||

Rotem is only two years on the throne. He was the youngest of his father's second litter but gained quick favor in his father's eyes, eventually rising to the rank of warrior chief by the time he reached adulthood. He was betrothed to Adara as soon as she proved herself a worthy lioness. Prior to his actual succession the lioness was impregnated. However, three of the cubs didn't survive the premature birth. Only Jaron lived. After his father passed on, Rotem became the new king. Once more, Adara bore a litter for him, this time each of the cubs survived.

He has a brutish build, a strong jaw, and piercing silver eyes. A proud warrior and a strong leader for the pride. His chosen totem was an eagle by the name of Adi. A female.

Personality-wise he's been considered to be a large child in many respects. He delights in his training but doesn't take it nearly as seriously as his close friend, Eyal. In fact, he almost makes a sport out of trying to get the warrior chief to laugh. However, he has a good sense of when to take things seriously. He cares for the pride like he would if each of the member was directly related to him. Thus far, he shows no particular favor towards any of his offspring, and thus has paid no more attention to one than another.

Jaron, though he'll never openly admit it, takes after his father. He's playful, light-hearted, and laid back- much to the aggravation of Eyal. In his youth, Jaron spent much of his time tormenting his warrior-chief and "uncle", Eyal. As a young adult, he's a bit of a skirt-chaser so to speak.

Eran grew into a rather quiet, and basically introverted lion. His cub- and juvehood was spent acclimating himself to his disability, and as opposed to being overly active (mainly due to his disability) he spent most of his time learning and studying, and so grew up to be more of an intellectual than a warrior. His lack of eyesight has given him a keener sense of hearing, which does come in handy if ever someone were to try and sneak up on him.

Alona is Rotem's older sister, her smaller frame and softer appearance acting as a contrast to him. She has been a strong supporter to Rotem since childhood, and is proud of what he has achieved throughout the years; she presents the faithful aid whenever anyone needs her. She is selfless and solemn, striving to give a fair judgment whenever the occasion arises. Others may view her as perhaps too serious, but she is simply steadfast and true to her virtues.

from a desert pride far to the north(yes, north!), Sudi found a group of what he thought were rogues near the pride's home in some old Egyptian ruins. He was impressed by their story, eventually deciding to leave home to head out with them. Since then he's learned about their culture, and what it shares with his home pride and how it differs

Paki was born to the Unity Walkers pride to Tanashita and Kifijo, however he was born blind and was treated as though he wasn't capable of anything. Because of this he grew close to his elder sister Moyo and when she left it tore him apart. Not long after she left with her mate to the pridelands, Paki left in search of her with his older brother Riku and his son Nakawa. They traveled together for a month or so until Riku disappeared and then Nakawa, gone on their own ways. Paki bumped into Bodaway and Khepri, who were traveling to the Firekin lands, many months later and the two lead him to the Pridelands. An adult by now, Paki searched around the outskirts of the pride where the two had dropped him off until he ran into Mut'salama, a lioness that knew of his sister Moyo and offered to help him find her. Despite having found his sister, Paki struck up an understanding with Mut that slowly lead into his falling in love with her, however before he could tell her how much he cared for her, Mut disappeared. Ever since, Paki's been tracking her in the hopes that of telling her his feelings.

has been in the same pride all his life. He tied the knot with his lovely mate, had a few cubs, and for the most part lead a quiet life. One morning, while his wife was out hunting, a rogue lion appeared and tried to steal the lionesses hunt. When the rogue caught sight of her beauty he tried to take her as his own. She refused and rogue tore her apart before the other females could aid her. When the hunting party returned with the news Ikenna grew furious. He tracked the rogue down and took revenge for his mate.

Not but a month latter three of his four cubs fell very ill and passed away. Struck with grief Ikenna clung to his last cub, Olukayode, and raised him on his own, refusing help from the rest of the pride.

The young cub grew into a gentle and kind adult whom was very adamant about helping the pride. He found a beautiful mate very young. Sadly she was unable to have cubs, she was an infertile Cheeton. One day while out hunting on his own he found a cub, a young Squall, and brought him back to raise as his own cub. Ikenna was convinced that the cub was Olukayode's own offspring. A 'miracle' child and a blessing from the God.

It was not long after Olukayode had found Squall that his mate fell ill and perished.

Olukayode himself fell ill with the same sickness and weakened. While defending the pride from an attacking rogue he was gravely wounded. Upon returning to the pride he died at Ikenna's feet. Before his death Ikenna promised Olukayode that he would watch Squall and raise him as his own. Olukayode never told Ikenna that Squall was found and adopted. To this day he is still convinced Squall is his own.

Squall was Ikenna's only remaining family and he clung to him as he had with Olukayode.

Zubin is a quiet and gentle soul. He was found by one of the huntresses quite a ways from their original homeland. Apparently he had been carried off with the intentions of being subjected to slavery but had managed to slip away from his captors during an altercation between them. The cub grew up among the pride and knows very little outside of it. He was not blessed with a body that was well suited for a fighter. He was blessed with a voice and a talent for song so he embraced his gift and serves his pride with it.

Alon is the oldest brother of Kingu, thus until their father returns, head of the family. When the pride migrated, he, his twin, and their sister got separated from the pride, eventually picking up a few new faces along the way.

Aharon is a bundle of nerves and a well-known hater of confrontation. While he's taken up the warrior trade, Aharon is far from bold. He can defend himself, and others, if need be, but he'll always attempt diplomacy before engaging anyone. He comes off as a coward right at first and his small, gangly figure doesn't help much.

Second eldest in the family and the twin of Alon, Ari and his twin and sister got separated from the rest of the pride during the migration. He's much more soft-spoken than his twin.

Youngest in his family, Asher has been babied by his parents. It doesn't help matters that not only is he the youngest, but he was a weak and runty cub. While he's still small for his age(Even Kingu's bigger than he is!), he packs quite a punch, unwilling to lose at any costs.

Oldest of Kingu and Tziporah, Azrael is a skilled warrior. He can be impulsive, seeming to take after his relatives more than his parents. While he has yet to take a mate, he's been very flustered around Ushara.

Her life began happy, filled with love from her pride. It was peaceful and loving, perfect in her eyes. With hints of the norm here and there but otherwise. It was perfect for her. Life went on and as she got older, she learned her first life lesson. Love, and that was given to the cubs she birthed from her best friend, a cheetah named Mauja. Though hurt that he could not stay within the pride and love each other. Their fruitful caring came out in beautiful cubs that she nor he could deny. After that, her life seemed normal. Not particularly interested in anyone but her father and pride... Til things went sour. The death of her father would be so devastating that her whole life will change and becoming the work a holic she is today.

Corbin is the crazedly protective and scared Klipspringer whom worries himself over Ace and her current changing condition. He tries to be the the strong face she can depend on but there is so little he could do. He feels guilty for having Ace keep the promise of taking him to see his family, maybe if they hadn't gone- she could have helped her father live... Blaming himself soully responsible for taking her away from the pride.

The only sister in the family, Yakira grew up amazingly not suffering middle-cub issues, due to her chance of being female instead of male. Separated from the rest of the pride during migration with her two older brothers, she's forced them to learn how to hunt to help them survive.

► Tribe of Cain ||

Abel is a hard and eager worker. Along with his brother, Cain, he's avidly protective of his mother, his "older brother", and his pride. Of the two, he's the better hunter and seems to always return home with something in his maw for dinner. Presently, his most impressive kill was a young hare, but he's showing promise as a young hunter. He has a good sense of humor, an eager nature, and a good sense of modesty.

Cain is as ambitious, and perhaps a bit too competitive, as his brother. As much as he loves his family, pride, and home, he tends to prefer solitude more often than not. He can be cocky sometimes, has a rather dry sense of humor, and is generally one to verbally note whenever he feels put-upon (Which, according to him, is often in regards to his totem, Tibby).

The silent healer, Yokheved has been completely without sound since she was a cub. The best she can do is huffs of air. Her totem, a vervet monkey named Tamar, greatly makes up for this as both a total chatterbox as well as a translator. She communicates through signs when possible, expressions, and most often drawings in the dirt with others when Tamar isn't available to translate.

She has probably the softest heart in the pride, acting as mother to any and all that might need the comfort, especially her adopted son and her own children. She has a pleasant sense of humor, though it's difficult to express it, and loves to make others happy.
A rare seer, she often has visions in her dreams and does her best to relay them to others before she forgets.



► Tribe of Yehudah ||

He’s just like any other older-middle aged father of young children, tired, but very happy. Yehudah is the sort who takes great pleasure in the little things, like spending time with his family, a full belly, good company, a safe place to sleep, breezy mornings, the warmth of the sunshine against his fur; the list could go on and on. He loves his mate with all of his heart and couldn’t be more proud of how well their adoptive son is growing and maturing. His family is his everything, and when the En Gedi hit the scene, they’ll be taken in as extended family of friends. Yehudah frets over his daughters, wanting to make sure they have everything they need. Having more friendly lions around will help ease his worrying due to their being more eyes around to help keep an eye on things. Just know that when his girls get older and young males start taking a fancy in them, they boys better impress him or assure him that they have the best intentions. If someone up and breaks their hearts, then the offender would definitely have some serious explaining and apologizing to do…

Zakai is an undying optimist. He's not naive -- he knows quite well that there is unfairness and tragedy in the world; he simply refuses to let that get him down. He is quick to adapt to change and is always the first person to come up with solutions to a problem or a new way of looking at things to make it easier. He gets along well with most others, being a good listener and always extremely upbeat so he's a lot of fun to be around; he especially gets along well with cubs and any free time he gets is used to prepare young males for the time as a squire -- a side effect of being the "big brother" for so long in his family. He very much lives "in the moment" with a secure feeling that everything will be OK in the end so he almost never experiences any anxiety about anything -- which may not be such a good thing, as it causes him not to necessarily think things through and to rely perhaps too much on his faith that everything will work out. Ever hear that joke about the man during a flood who kept turning down help because he was waiting for God to save him? That's Zakai.

She can be a little reserved around strangers but towards her family members, she is very physical in her affections. Resilient and adaptable, she quickly adjusts her attitude to each unique situation. She has adjusted rather nicely to the En Gedi, made some friends, found a totem and chosen a rank.

She's the patient and nurturing sort of person. Very dedicated to her family, Chana doesn't like to raise her voice or a paw to the cubs or her love, and worries for their safety, happiness and health. Chana is quite devoted and for the longest time wanted nothing more than to have a little family with her mate. Now that she has it, she wishes to care and protect this family as best she can. The new pride that has moved into the area and taken them in seems just the sort of home they need and the sort of people who can help her serve and protect her little ones.

Strong willed and stubborn at times, one might think she was an only child, instead of second eldest within their little family. Still, despite the bouts of selfishness that crop up from time to time, she loves her family dearly and is predictably dependable, as she would give the world for them if it was asked from her... Albeit with a good bit of complaining and huffing about like a child robbed of some trinket or another. She has the tendency to do the opposite of what is asked of her, though never to the extent of being completely disrespectful or harmful to others and such behavior usually only surfaced when her brother was sitting her and her sister, before they came to the pride. It was almost retaliation for being left with him so often, though she is steadily acknowledging that the situation was hardly his fault and at times feels remorse for her behavior, especially as she ages and fully grasps the dangerous situation they had been in. She also is well known for being quite opinionated and outspoken, though she is usually only trying to help. All in all, she means well, though her words can sometimes be rather blunt. She wants to bring pride and joy to her mother and father, as well as to their little family and new pride. She is a fierce, hard working little creature and steadfastly determined to become a great huntress.

- Save both a certed and uncerted image! This allows us to make a group picture and keep a record of ranks/names/etc. for family trees.
- Save your lion into his or her appropreate rank's folder. When a cub grows, move the cub images into the 'past growths' folder and upload their new image into their new rank.
- We'll have folders for family trees, feel free to update yours there!
- We'll also have an artwork folder for any fanart of the pride!
- We do have banner folders for the pride's thread and info pages. Feel free to add any that you'd like there!

Please save all your uncerted images as: "Name of your soa - Your gaia sn" and in the details box put the colorist of that SoA and their rank.

Family Trees
We'll be keeping track of the genetics within the pride both to prevent inbreeding and to establish the patrons of each family line. The lines are named after the oldest known patron of each line.
