Rachel stretched lightly as he stood on one of the facility's lawns, a small obstacle course set up in front of him with a few things like pull up bars and whatnot. It was nothing complicated, just enough for balance practice and a bit of a minor workout. To someone like him, this was utterly boring kid stuff, but he doubted it'd be too complicated for any of his pupils either.
Today he was to have Taylor, younger brother to his two time student, Mareike. Mare had been one of his first students, painting on the wall to improve her focus, and doing stretches to ready her wings for things like flight. He wondered vaguely if the girl had ever gotten around to the flying stage, but that was to be asked at another time. This time it was Taylor's turn for attention. And hopefully at the end of this, he'd feel proud of his accomplishments and knowing he was competent that something physical like this.

Taylor practically jumped out of Penny's car as it pulled up in front of the facility . Though as far as the pride boy was concerned the vehicle wasn't going nearly fast enough for it to matter. Promising to call his guardian when he was done, the blue and red eyed boy shut the passenger side door with his tail and grinned. It was time for him to start learning stuff again even if normal school was done.
Spotting who he assumed was his teacher the pebbly skinned boy raced towards him showing off a speed that might one day rival his sister's. Unfortunately digging one's claws into the ground as a stopping tactic landed the boy face first the other male's feet. Front breaking was clearly only for bikes and roller skates, still Taylor had been curious to see if it would work.

Rachel shook his head lightly, waiting for the boy to get up and brush himself off. "And this is why we slow down before stopping, or use the sides of our feet." he said with a small smile. It was mostly a light-hearted comment, he had nothing against Taylor and wasn't really picking on him so much as pointing something amusing out. "You'd be Taylor?"

Taylor nodded as he brushed dirt and grass from his shirt and jeans. " Yeah I'm Taylor, I was seeing if I could use them like the front breaks on bikes or the orange stoppers on the front of roller skates." he explained. He swept green bangs from his face and looked out over the obstacle course.. that was gonna be strange but it looked kinda fun too. Sorta like the training courses he saw in comics.

"Yeah, that doesn't quite work." Rachel said with a shrug. "I think it's because the claws on your feet were part of what was moving you, and it's something about how your weight was being held to run, but I'm not positive."
"Anyway, as you see, we'll be working on this obstacle course today."

The spike tailed child was a bit surprised his teacher wasn't exactly sure what made him fall but he supposed not everyone could know everything. He looked out at the obstacle course again " It looks fun." Taylor was always up for fun even if he didn't know exactly how this was supposed to teach him stuff or moreover what it was supposed to teach him.

"It's good practice to test your agility and balance." he explained, "or to just improve them once you see what you need to work on."
First he showed the boy over towards a bar that was a decent bit above his head but still in reach. "Ever done a pull up?"

" Nope" The boy had an idea of what you were supposed to do though and he wondered, could he? He was strong enough to lug garbage bags out to the curb but garbage had to weigh less than he did. It was an interesting challenge and he was up for it " I just reach up and pull right?" Simple and maybe he could even used his tail. although it's didn't curl quite that well.

"Sort of. You have to have your arms in the right position and you have to get your chin above the bar." the dark haired man explained, putting his arms in the position to show the boy and doing a small pull up. He had to move his legs out of the way a little, seeing as he was a bit tall for it, but luckily this one didn't feature a wall behind it.
Once he'd finished, he faced the boy again. "You just do as many of those as you can and then we can try one with your tail. It probably won't work as well but you can try anyway."

" Okay" Taylor grinned, the child was game to try pretty much anything once. The pull ups looked a bit harder now that he'd seen them done properly but the pride boy wasn't too intimated yet. Sun warming the child's partially green pebbled skin, Taylor carefully put his arms on the bar and made sure they looked like Rachel's had before. Summoning all of his strength Taylor pulled himself up, suddenly hating his tail for being so heavy. The boy's arms burned has his muscles strained to get him so his chin was above the bar, demon and angel strength or not his body was rather weighty by design.

The tail attempt was.. sad, it just threw the boy horribly off balance and left him once again on the ground." I don't think I can do pull ups" there was a mild dejected tone to the child's voice, the more he tried new things the more things he found that he wasn't good at, it was depressing really. Would anyone care if he was really good at biking if he couldn't even do a pull up properly? Did the things he could do matter or were they outweighed by what he could not?

Rachel pat him lightly on his shoulder. "That's fine. I expected there'd be a few things you couldn't do. Don't worry about it. You are most likely never going to meet a situation in life where you will have to do a pull up to survive." the man explained. "Anyway, there are some things here you should be able to do." he said with a smile.

Taylor nodded slowly and dusted himself off ready to face the next challenge. It felt good for someone else to have faith in his abilities " ok what's next?"

The next activity involved having to essentially step through a load of tires on the ground, and get through as fast as possible. "This one isn't too hard but you can try it a few times to get the hang of it first."
