Years have gone by since the seas raged and the sky was set aflame, the Lord of Chaos had arisen, a new Queen of the Underworld had been proclaimed, and an angel general had arisen to a post few knew existed, and fewer knew about. The time of the rebelion was over. Or so everyone thought. But a lone assassin slipping through the town spoke otherwise...or rather, his actions did. He silently climbed over houses and jumped across rooftops with ease in the great city, black cloak billowing behind him. The hunter was hunting and his prey was nearly in sight. The ghostly form slide across the roofs of building after building, an ethereal wraith in the pitch black night. The stars stood out like diamons and the moon was a scythe slicing through the crisp night air. Suddenly the assassin stopped, stooping low he climbed the side of the ajacent building. Inside a government official sat in his office, deshevled hair speaking of his long hours at the desk. He was focused and motivated to do his job, too focused to hear the window silently open, or feel the cool night breeze blow against his skin. The silhoutte that climbed into the room, darker than the night around it, suddenly came into view, his black cloak held with a polished silver pin, an emblem of an emblazoned hook gleamed dully in the small amount of light. The dark blacks and purples of his outfit blended with the cold night behind him, seemed out of place amid the white walls of the office building. He crept across the floor with feet as silent as death. His boots where a dull black leather, but the wicked daggers he carried glimmered dangerously in the light. The shadow-figure was now right behind the man's chair. He sheathed one dagger silently back into its well oiled leather sheath and reached a dark purple glove slowly around the mans face, as quick as lightning the hand snapped around his mouth, before the poor man had even gotten a chance to realise what was happening the long blade of the dagger slipped noislisly into his ribs and out. The assassin was quick, laying the mans head carefully on the table, arranged just so to appear he had falen asleep at his desk. The assassin turned around and quickly walked back to the window, hopping up on the ledge he closed the window behind him before jumping down the ajacent roof and trotting away. Eyes hidden below his wide-brimmed hat, his lips twisted into a small smile as the first scream reached his ears. The night was peaceful but it wouldn't be for long. Jairn Donale could hear the money tumbling into his hands already, as he slipped through the town. A black wraith on the rooftops.

I sit at the file cabinet, my over coat showing the tools at which I did my job. I slip the nife in, and then open the cabinet with a small tug. I slip one of the files out, and read it. Dirt, every spies friend. Dirt on whoever you were after. If I had to, I would just order a hit outright, but killing the enemies of Wolfgang Security Systems wasn't exactly the best thing. I slip the files into my bag, and seal the cabinet back up, as if I was never here. I go to the window to check for the night shift security, none. I head for the stairs, out the front door, and to my bike. Helmet on, I blaze through the streets to my own company. Safely back in my office, I start to look over the files in greater detail. Oooh, they were selling on the black market, and had funding from several known terrorist agencies. I could work that into their submission. Yes. I sit back smiling. The night had gone well. Job done.
With the job done, it was late, and I had better get my contacts straight, I still had a spot open, I needed an assassin to do my bidding. Of course, finding a good one, that was hard, because the good ones are never known about. In that case, I had let a few of my "associates in crime", meaning my other known spies, know I am looking for one. They all agreed to help. I trusted them, not a lot, but enough to know they wouldn't double cross me. Those who betrayed me, usually ended up with a bullet in the head.My business got dangerous, and always has me looking for new recruits in my department, but I still had trouble keeping leaks and and double agents out. Those usually I let whoever my assassin was kill. But last time, it was him. So I dealt with it myself, but having a drink with him, and putting cyanide in his mojito. Double crossers got killed. Fact of life.

Hoping back out of the office window I climb down, hopefully that last kill would get this man's attention, he was a high-up in a large corparation I was trying to get hired by, they always seemed to bring in more money. As I dropped to the ground I walked away down the alleyways of the city, whistling a tune. Killing was always a part of business, it didn't matter what sort of business, you always had rivals, and those always had to be cut down. I was good at cutting them down, and stabbing too.

I sit back in the swivel chair. Then hear the news on my LCD TV in the corner of the office. "Reports are of a man in the high up stages in the investigation of Espionage against the Security firm Wolfgang Security Systems Inc. Was killed just moments ago..." I raise an eyebrow. I didn't order that hit, and I knew everything that went on in this building. So who..? I look around. Blink, then call in my night secretary. She comes in hurridly. I write down the number of a certain man named Jairn, and have her call it.

Not looking for a hit at the moment I was luckily carrying my phone with me, as it buzzed in my pocket I pulled it out and flipped it open. "Hello....mhm....that would be right, his death was of my accord.....yes ofcourse im applying for the job....a metting?.....now's good." I flip the cell phone closed and turn around, making my way back towards the corporations building, I guessed I should enter through the front like a normal person this time. I had my flash powder and smoke screens hiddden on my person incase it was a trap. That happened last time, not something I liked doing, killing other assassins, but money was money.

I sit in the front lobby on the first floor. When a young man, seeming young man, walks in, I watch him. I wave to my secretary who goes to meet him. She smiles. "You must be Jairn, right? The only person who would come in this late would be an applicant." She offers her hand with a smile. "My boss is watching, but you would never know it." I sit reading the newspaper along with five other people doing the same thing. Except, my newspaper had a small screen in front of it, hooked up to a camera system. I had what looked like a handsfree Bluetooth cell adapter in my ear, but it was picking up his conversation with my secretary. She speaks again. "He is, busy though, and could not make it."

Most likely a lie, but thats how it usualy went, never meeting the man that sent you out to take anothers life. That was normal. "Oh its no problem." I said taking her hand for a moment and lightly kissing it, showing off to anybody at all could end good, unless they thought you where being pompose...The man had to be someone in the room, there where a few people still hurrying around, men reading the newspaper, most likely that. But it was always good to be careful, i watched everyone, pretending I was looking around the office. "If you would mind telling me how my resume looked?"

I smile, he knew I was here, that meant he was good at uncovering people's covers. I turn my self in front of my screen, pack it into a suitcase, much like everyone else around me was doing, and then fold the newspaper and tuck it under my arm, I steer clear of the two, and instead, go to a desk near the front entrance. I set up as if I was doing my job as a door greeter. I sit and listen to them. "Thank you." She giggles. "It looked very nice, of course, it wasn't until your act that the boss really became interested. Most times, it isn't until after, we meet that our applicants do a test job. But your ahead of the game." I shift, it was to keep my cover. "I also would like you to know, my boss is a very expecting man, and very dangerous on the wrong side. They are a few rules to your job, but your own style is appreciated. You do understand, right? Its for the safety of the employees here."

I nodded and shifted slightly, of all the men that where reading the newspaper only two remained, one seemed to be a door greeter and the other was on the phone. "Yes ofcourse I have been in this...business for quiet a time. No two companies usualy have the same rules."That was a very expensive outfit for a door greeter. "Test job? No that was a....gift. A show of my work. If you would mind explaining the..rules?" I looked slightly down, using the rim of my wide-brimmed hat to peer sidelong at the other people in the room.

I act as if I am doing my job, and the other door greeter comes in. I nod. He knew who I was, what I was doing. Everyone on the first floor knew, no one who knew me would be coming in, so it wouldn't matter there. His attire almost matched mine, but was more showy, to show off our company. He takes his position next to me. I nod to him, and we start a mild conversation, to keep the cover, but my mind was still on the applicant. Meanwhile another man takes a glance his direction, but keeps himself hidden. And then turns to look at a map, seemingly reading it. "The rules are simple, work like you don't know us, don't speak of your business here to anyone, even other employers, and do not, I repeat, do not cross even the lowest janitor here. Simple rules enough." I smile, she was good, maybe I would replace my day secretary with her. I laugh as the other door greeter makes a joke, then fall silent again. It wasn't a big laugh, but more of a subtle chuckle.

Well, seemed I wouldn't find out who I was working for...if maybe just yet. I grinned dispite myself. "Well its of no problem, not like I haven't done this before, so, how will I be getting my instructions?" Information was always a good thing, but too much information was definately not good, I killed more than one man for that very reason.

"The boss will call you with a drop, it will always be different, but there will be a regular pay drop." She smirks. "And there will be a man whom you can call anytime via a secure channel that will always have your latest instructions should you lose your dossiers, sound fair enough?" I go on with my cover. "If it does, the boss says your hired." I smile, she WAS good!

I grinned again and flourished my cloak. The greeter I had been watching earlier grinned when she had finished talking, not enough to prove anything but enough to give possible hints, the flourish gave me a second to process this. "Very well. If that is all, good day." I turned on the spot and left an atleast slightly perplexed secretary behind me, I stared the greeter in the eye and nodded. Was there was flash of something in his eye? The eyes always gave away what the face did not.

I smile and wave. Something a greeter does normally. Good, he had hints at who I was. Good to keep them guessing. As soon as he is gone, I whip out my cell phone, and head to the elevators. I call the young man, using a blocked number of course.

As soon as I was out of the building my phone rang, well they where pretty fast atleast. I flipped open my phone, "Hello? I presume I am speaking to my new boss?" People around me carried on with their work in the mornings silvery light. "You work fast I see. I think I like you." That was left to be found out though, what man was he? My first job would give a little insight into how much he trusted me.
