What games made you happy (in your pants)? What games made you sad? And what games made you slightly hungry?
For me, I gotta say Nintendo made up for last year TEN-FOLD. Metroid: Other M looks like it will make Samus the most badass bounty hunter around...again. It seems that lately the Prime games overshadowed the "classic" series. I just hope you can pull off some of those awesome moves shown in the trailer. (Specifically the body slam followed by Arm-Cannon-to-the-face combo she used on the pinkish-purple dragon thing)
Two new Mario games, both for the Wii. New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a direct follow-up to the DS version, except updated visuals, new obstacles, co-op play, new power-ups (penguin suit, FTW), and YOSHI! Super Mario Galaxy features even more innovative worlds to explore...and also YOSHI!
*ahem*
Red Steel 2 transformed a mediocre launch title FPS to what it was supposed to be all along -- a sword-swinging, gun-slinging good time. With the help of the Wii-motion plus accessory, The Stranger has moves to rival Dante (such as a juggle move that lifts baddies into the air) and a glimpse of a bullet-time move(?), RS2 further impressed by showing just how intuitive the controls were. Switching between your katana and your revolver is as simple as pointing on the screen and pressing the B-trigger down. Swordplay is finally 1-to-1, which means however you swing the wiimote, that's how it registers in game. Let your Geek Flag wave proudly as you set out to recreate your favorite anime/samurai/ninja/lightsaber/etc. fights in the comfort of your home...without fear of it being uploaded to YouTube without your knowledge!
Also, a bit more under the radar, the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto held a closed-door (and tight-lipped) private interview with a select few reporters and blogs discussing various subjects, the most popular one being a new Legend of Zelda for the Wii. These lucky individuals were given a show of various pieces of Twilight Princess-esque concept art, as well as a glimpse of a more mature Link and hints at more advanced swordplay.
Finally, one other thing that really interests me that isn't Nintendo related is that Kojima Studios has announced that 2 new Metal Gear games are going to be considered as Metal Gear Solid 5. One features Big Boss (again) a few years after the Les Enfants Teribles project. Subtitled Peace Walker and in dev. for the PSP, this one is set in the 70s and is Hideo Kojima's original concept for MGS5. The other game sharing the moniker is subtitled MGS: Rising [Lightning Bolt Action]. Starring everyone's (least)favorite cyborg-ninja Raiden, albeit bumped up several levels of badass. Not much is known about either, although Kojima himself has said that Peace Walker is going to be his game, and that he has great faith in the personnel he assigned to Rising. However a little speculation is in order as to why the well-known tagline of Tactical Espionage Action has been changed to Lightning Bolt Action. Are the stealth elements that made MGS the series it is today gone? Maybe to fit the new hero, a more action-oriented game style is being developed. Just have to wait and see, I suppose.
Whew... Wall o' text. Sorry about that. Anyway, let the posting begin!

Oh man, the Old Republic looked aaaaawesome! I'm not an MMO girl myself but I may be persuaded to play something of that sort when it's released. Soooo great.
But I think Sony owned the place. Both Final Fantasy's coming out within the same year? Why do that? Oh well, who cares? Heh, funny, I've only played one FF (FF7) and I didn't even play it all--my friend played it for me. XD And we never finished! Ah well. I should play an FF game all the way through. The graphics are awesome though. Really pretty. But besides that they have so many great games coming out that I really can't wait--even if I don't have a PS3!
Haha, I heard them commenting about Super Mario Galaxy 2 on G4. Nothing beats space so what do you do with the sequel? Make it in space again. Haha.
Though I've never played RS2 that DOES sound fun! Hacking and slashing your way with your Wii remote? Fun times! I don't really like to move around when playing games (really, I'm just not use to it!) But I should give this a try. (: Thanks!
And OMG MIYAMOTO! <3 I am so jealous about that information--I had no idea! I thought Twilight Princess was awesome but I wish it had more replay value. What's the point of continuing it if there isn't much to gain by getting everything? And I wished the last level (the castle) was harder than it was (since every other level was harder than that one) but I digress. Zelda: TP was very cool and had almost everything in it! They did a good job so I hope this one will be even better! (Though OoT is still my favorite! I guess it's hard to get over.)

Haha, for a moment, I thought no one was ever going to reply! Yes, Old Republic does look like it will own big-time. Watched the trailer, saw all the red lightsabers power up simlutaneously, first thought through my mind was "oh s#!7." Like you, I'm not really into MMOs, but damn if that didn't look good. Ah, Final Fantasy... How I love and despise you all at once. I am in love with them through FFX, though Tidus is a whiny little b***h compared to both Cloud and Squall. X-2, however, grates me to no end. My sister loves it to death, while I want to input a cheat code that makes Yuna do a Persona 3 number and shoot herself in the head...with a real gun. (I'm sorry, it must be the horrible pop songs in the game) XI was online. Enough said. XII was alright, but I can't stand over half the characters, plus it ripped off SoA so much...and STILL screwed it up. Squeenix is kinda jumping the gun with announcing FFXIV, and XIII still not here. Personally, I want to see more Dragon Quest/Warrior, and NOT just remakes of games that never made it over here. Good news, though. I'm pretty sure FFVII is available on the PSN for download (about the only way you'll find a legit and reasonably priced copy.). RS2, of yes, it looks slick as hell. I highly recommend you watch the gameplay trailer (if you haven't already) to truly see some of the kickass moves it shows off. (Hint: the gameplay movie has background noises and voices and shows a fight with a hammer-wielding bad guy near the end) ^First and ONLY piece of released artwork for the new Wii Zelda. Expect something to show up at next year's E3, and for a projected 2010(?) release. For now, click here to read Miyamoto's frustratingly sparse project details and salivate. From what I gather, he is indeed working on it, at least. Yay! More walls o' text!

This. Eeeeh. Final Fantasy. I'm generally easily pleased with games. (I do not, however, feel that Final Fantasy ripped Skies. It's arguable, but airships have been in games for a long time now. Inno about Air Pirates, but it didn't feel anything like SoA to me. More like they were a type of gimmick in there almost. Or maybe it was the fact that there was no "Sky" in the sense SoA has. (I just wanted to hear Balthier talk so I could fall into the throes of ecstasy, he STILL doesn't have enough lines for me. <333 I can't hate that game no matter how hard I try, frucking Balthier is my God.) XII out of the way, I like everything before that. Easily pleased. Don't much care for how hard SE is milking the VII udders, they must be damn swollen, but eh. Could do without SE announcing XIV myself too, though. Mainly because I won't be getting XIII when it comes out. Lolol. Fruck you PS3, I'm getting a 360 first. Excited about the new Zelda though, and the new Mario. Been telling myself that the new Metroid looks pretty bitchin' too, but I haven't played any of them yet. Mean to pick up the Prime Trilogy for Wii. Hmm. Lolol Golden Sun DS is the highlight for me. Seriously, if it gets DSi only features, even if it's dinky little s**t that hardly effects ANYTHING, GSDS is the ONLY game that could get me to shell out for a DSi right now. Not even Pokémon HGSS could do as much. .D.

Or the second? You've told me before, I just forget which. X3 Also, I could care less about E3...because Sting is porting their cell phone game spinoff of Yggdra Union called Yggdra Unison: Beat Out Our Obstacle, and each and every Dept. Heaven game has made it to North American shores via Atlus USA. Hooray for Dept. Heaven~<333

Heart Gold and the other Pokemon game. Finding that out made me orgasm. Literally.
And so did the new Metroid. But could someone fill me in on the FFXIII and all that? I kinda lost interest after playing seven, and how I didnt like 8/9/10.

Metroid Other M? YES PLZ NAO!
Heart Gold and Soul Silver is pretty, plus they FINALLY implemented touchscreen controls for the PC boxes.
Final Fantasy...ugh. It made me slightly happier that Squeenix isn't keeping it Sony exlusive anymore, but 13 just looks like a jumbled mess of big swords and overly-gelled hair (like every FF game since 7, actually). I'll probably get it, because my sister obsesses over anything FF, but the jury's still out on how much I'm going to enjoy of it.

I'll probably get it, because my sister obsesses over anything FF, but the jury's still out on how much I'm going to enjoy of it. Makes me think of Dissidia and how broken of a game it is. There's no sense of gravity, a 30-second cutscene can easily kill you, normal attacks are 5-second cutscenes, and certain characters are really ********' cheap. Terra - She can spam Tornado and win. Sephiroth - His sword is SO LONG (And we all know why) that it's like, two hits and they're dead. Cecil - He has some attack where he just flys at the opponent, no matter where they are. Now this isn't exactly a "broken" aspect of the game, but, the VOICES. God damn, they could at least have MORE THAN TWO ATTACKS to voice. Onion Knight...ugh... "BURN IT UP BURN IT UP BURN IT UP BURN IT UP". I hate him.

Sorry I didn't reply in a asdfgl long time. I got way busy. T____T
But you TOTALLY had been geeking out over the new Zelda poster when you posted it! I was all OMGBBQ!!!!! And immediately researched it but nothing is really concrete yet and most fans figured out that the lady is possibly the Master Sword.
But what is haunting ( exclaim ) is Miyamoto's announcement of changing Zelda forever. DDDD: WHAT THE F DOES HE MEAN BY THAT?! Arg! It's killing me! I have to know! Are they going to change a real life-like Zelda and make it all Windwaker art or change the entire Zelda structure? Or change everything about it? What does that mean?!
But I understand what he's saying to a point too. Zelda has always been known to try and come out with new and improved gaming methods (first adventure game where it wasn't limited by side scrolling or w/e, engaging story, side quests, ASASDKHSDF HARD BATTLES!) so it's hard for Zelda to match up to now a higher standard of gaming exprience.
Personally, (though I have only played and completed 4 Zelda games) my favorite is still OoT. I've heard A Link to the Past is epic too and one day I'll get the Collector's Edition, but for now it's OoT. Not only does it have a great storyline, imagery, battles and dungeons it also has one of the highest replay values I've ever seen. Not just because of the game itself but also because of the umpteenth billion amounts of glitches in it.
It's so awesome. Srsly, there are speedrunners on there that have beat the game in less then 2 and a half hours! It's insane! Now there's a way to bypass the Door of Time gate! So it might be able to be beaten in 1 hour! Srsly, if you have time you should watch the speedruns. I was laughing so hard the whole time through thinking about how they were able to defeat enemies in a second or only get 3 medallions for the ending! Makes me wish I had my N64 now (which I think is the best system to date for great games but then again I haven't played all the systems so I wouldn't know.) I'm such an old time gamer. @____@

Super Nintendo and PlayStation 2. Sevi Rais I'm such an old time gamer. @____@ The statement I quoted you on previously would like to beg to differ. .D. It also appears you have yet to play Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. o8

Super Nintendo is my second favorite. ASDFD I love that system!
Actually I'm replaying them now. I figured out that I like TP better than WW. I swear it took me 10 minutes just to get the freakin' 50 rupee treasure chest out at sea because the devs decided that the gamer should be dead on accurate with the hook. UGH!!!!!!!!!! Also the controls aren't that great. I have to press the R button and C-up all the time just so Link can have his 1st person POV then I can't even bring out my weapons when he's there (which I can do in TP). Then of course any time I want to go in a different direction I have to change the wind. It wouldn't be sooo much of a problem if my GC's controller wasn't out of wack already. Still.....it can get annoying looking at a map and then having to change the direction every inch I don't go in the right way.
Also WTF with having to use those stupid plants in the Deku Tree to get to the next temple? Not only that but having to jump these huge distances just to get to the actual temple. It's great in the beginning but if I just want to check to see if I got all my treasure chests? Forget it. I just drop down and die in the water from exhaustion. They won't even let me do a do over like before. ugh
Also, why in the world to I have to watch Link throw the stupid hook onto the wooden post every time? Just do it and go! gonk
I like how Windwaker brought a new art and style in it and how different it was when defeating enemies. It was all pretty cute and very imaginary. The story was pretty good too. I think my favorite fight is defeating Ganondorf. But I don't know how I got so much stuff in this game. I'm not even half way through and I just switched to TP because it was less annoying to me. :/ haha. I still like WW but I'm not falling head over heels. I think my favorite temple was the one with the bird....was it Medli or....something? I dunno.
TP had so much stuff in it but it's so dark. Midna was a great tag along character and being a wolf brought challenge to the game. I still get so jumpy when Ganondorf is chasing me on the horse!!!!! AH! XD I wish that the castle was harder though. Every level seemed to get increasingly difficult until the last one. It was weird. But I think Zelda's usually like that? I dunno.
I did finally finish Link's Awakening. O____O Freakin' a I love that game! But it's soooo hard that I wanted to throw it across the room. I. hate. getting. lost. Getting lost is so bad in that game. Just circling and circling and going mad! And 9 dungeons?! UGH! But it felt so awesome to beat it. <3

Wind Waker is significantly easier to play if one has the strategy guide. AND YOU WILL LEARN TO LOVE THAT GRAPPLING HOOK. IT CAN STEAL ITEMS FROM MONSTERS. ALSO, DARKNUTS ARE A LOT MORE FUN IN WIND WAKER THAN TWILIGHT PRINCESS. And the Hurricane Spin is awesome~
Link's Awakening DX? The version with the Color Dungeon? And that game is easy. Zelda 2...is REALLY REALLY HARD. Hardest Zelda game to date, I don't know anyone whom has beaten it.

He's in my Zelda guild, by the name of Brawlmaster. As far as Link's Awakening, that game is a friggin' masterpiece. And I love the screen warp glitch ^-^. I am a huge Zelda fanatic. I recently wrote a thesis paper on why the land of Termina (Majora's Mask) was cursed to be destroyed in three days. I feel cool, because IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!

The color dungeon is one of the easier dungeons but I've never played it. I think you get into it after the 2nd temple? Oh yeah I love the grappling hook to steal items from enemies. It's awesome for that but to watch it hook onto posts every time is annoying, you gotta admit. (: Darknuts are funnier in WW. I enjoy both. 3nodding Play Zelda without a strategy guide!!
