Private RP between Misha, Longway and Banning (Graficcha) & Faolan and Ziazan (Jynk) & Ellandra and Rhian (Redbud-Tree)Location: Banning's seaside domain Time: Noontime (arrival) Weather: A strong, refreshing wind at the coastline Prologue What happened so far~
Due to interfamilial tension and other problems, Faolan was driven to contact Essential Biotics INC. to please help him come up with... soemthing, anything, that could relieve some pressure on the starting family. Eventually, they agreed a change of scenery might do them good. Rhian would get to go out more, Ellandra and Faolan would have some time to themselves, and Ziazan would get the space it needed to sort itself out, and maybe all of them would see things they had never seen before.
After the basics were taken care of, Banning picked up the four of them, took them to the edge of Vargash, got them into the cross-country vehicle, and off they were, accompanied by Misha and miss Longway as well.
And here they were now, on the Vargash Eastern border - the ocean. Between the city and here, nothing but wasteland. They would not be disturbed, there was no governmental surveillance here. Only the duke's terrain, and a decently-kept home on the shoreline, that was spacious and supplied enough to easily harbour all seven of them for a few days, weeks if they needed it.

When the thrumming of the vehicle stopped, and the 'lid' opened up -Misha refused to call that monstrous thing a door- the bunny Alter popped out like a champagne cork.
Freedom! Holy moly, fresh air, no more closed spaces moving at immense speeds. Longway was quite relieved too, she hadn't talked much at all during the hour-long journey. Following her Essentic out, she put her hands on her hips, and whistled.
Quite a sight, this ocean. Joined Misha and glancing him over, she was almost pleased to find him slackjawed. She was familiar with the sight, and so was Banning. That wasn't something many people native to the city could claim, no. Most Vargash-born died there without ever seeing much further than the mountain range or the wasteland, apart from in picture books.
Banning eventually caught up with them -feeling oddly badass after driving that small-house-sized thing over the plains at 160mph for hours- and sighed. So, here we are then. The house they'd be staying in was right there, looking a bit out of place in the vast uninhabited area. Cottage-styled wooden home, sturdy though, the outer woodwork worn, but holding like a rock, and letting wind nor water in.
After a moment, Banning left to unlock it, Misha remained rather rooted to the space, and Longway turned back to help Faolan and Ellandra out of the 'car.

Zia climbed out to stand beside Misha, rainbow eyes wide at the sight of the rolling water that stretched out forever. It's wings spread out a bit, lowered, spread out, then the left lowered. The Essentic seemed to be trying to sort out something in its head, a remembrance of when it could fly and the awe of the ocean before it.
Faolan moved out of the vehicle, then turned to help Ellandra out, ever the doting husband. He could hear the shushing of the ocean behind him, but hadn't had a chance to take it in fully yet, focusing on his wife.

"It's... quite something, isn't it... Longway told me all that lives came from the ocean. I wonder... sometimes I wonder if we did, too."
Have a deep-ponderous Misha. Rare thing.
Half-slipping out of his reverie, he glaced at Ziazan, not really sure if he should, but ended up laying a warm hand on its shoulder anyway. An unexpected flare of wind made his ears whip up a bit, and he shut his eyes, smiling when he recognised it felt a lot like running, only.. standing still.

Ellandra gasped softly as Faolan helped her out of the vehicle, her eyes locked on the ocean before her. Oh, she'd read about it before, had seen pictures, but nothing at all compared to seeing the vastness of it with her own eyes. "Oh... it's beautiful," she said softly, only to stumble a bit to the side as Rhian nearly erupted out of the vehicle, taking to the sky and doing a few loop-de-loops before heading over to the older Essentics.
The butterfly hung back a little, but only because she wasn't sure she should bother the older Essentics - after all, they were so much more.... well, grown than her. She was blown backwards, however, when the gust of wind flared up, sending her tumbling through the air and forcing her owner-mother to catch her. The proto's antennae twitched rapidly as she tried desperately to regain her bearings. "What was that? Something pushed me!"
The little proto wasn't used to encountering large gusts of wind, after all, and had not a clue what it was that had sent her spinning. Ellandra hugged Rhian to her with one arm, her other hand holding tightly to Faolan's. "That was just the wind, flutterby, but I wouldn't go flying around too much until you get an idea of what it's like here, okay?"

Faolan looked back over his shoulder to see what had Elle's attention so rapt and stared, eyes wide and ears straight up. He'd never seen the ocean and the only pictures of it he'd seen were on his tarot cards. Slowly he opened his mouth to speak, then closed it, opened it again, and closed it once more. He truly had no words for once, though he gave Elle's hand a little squeeze.
Zia looked at Misha sidelong, not wanting to turn away from the expanse of water before it. "Maybe we did. Our lives were created by the humans and they came from the sea, therefore so did we."

Misha opened his eyes again slowly, coming back to the present, and smiled at Rhian's excitation, and her first encounter with the wind. Ah, maybe he should have warned her, but he didn't know what it was like to fly, let alone to dodge the breeze.
During the ride he'd been largely silent, watching his siblings and their owners. Just thinking things, trying not to be too worried about all of them. Maybe he'd talk to Ellandra later...
"Sometimes I do wonder... They start us, but don't they start themselves, too? I mean, babies and all... It's just as mysterious to me." Talking about that, he started wondering if Essentics could 'make' babies now. He decided not to go there and ponder about that some other time.
In the meantime, now that everyone was out of the car, Banning moved it over to its safe perch out of the wind -not that it would be blown away, that fifteen-tonner, but it was closer to the back entrance. Not long after, he left Longway to do the 'unpacking', and came wandering back to the little growing family. He'd rather not listen to his employee complain about 'not being paid enough for this'.
Keeping some distance, Bane followed their gazes out to the sea. He'd seen it before, indeed a magnificent sight the first time. And the second, and third. The view wasn't so much his concern as how in the world he would survive more than a few hours with almost complete strangers, customers no less. Oh well, he was gladly doing this for them, they clearly needed some time to breathe. No doubt if they had any... ditty questions, Timka would be able to help them. He highly doubted he could be of any practical use, beyond adopting them into his own household.
"Misha."
"Uh?" turnaround. "Ah! Master, yes, what can I do for you?"
"How about you go... play. Out there. I'll send Longway after you when we need you, but make sure to be back in time for that assignment we talked about."
"... oh. Oh, okay. Will do. Umm.. Ziazan? Rhian? Do you feel like heading out for a bit? I think the adults need to talk adult-stuff... And there's a lot of neatness behind the cliffs, too." La, that's loads more fun then helping with unpacking, by any chance. XD He hadn't been here before, but Longway had shown him maps of the place, and had tried to explain him about the tideworks and beaches and seashells and all. Had been a fun afternoon, all things given.

Zia pondered the bunny boy's words. "They do start themselves. I felt Mama's children come alive." It grinned at Misha, letting it lie at that. At the other question, it nodded. "I want to see the water closer, yes."

Ellandra clung to Faolan's hand, freeing Rhian with her other and letting the butterfly go where she chose. The brunette was still in awe atthe sight before her. . . . although she could feel nausea starting to rise in her gut again - thankfully it hadn't affected her during the trip over, that would have been a disaster! She moved a little closer to Faolan and leaned against him, not mentioning her beginning bout of morning (anytime) sickness because she didn't want to ruin the moment for him. "It's. . . beyond words, isn't it...?" she murmured quietly, gazing out across the water.
Meanwhile, Rhian flew over to the older Essentics again, but kept her distance. Was she really going to be allowed to play with her sibling this time? "Can I really come?" she asked, trying not to be bowled over by any more wind-gusts without asking for someone to let her perch on an arm. At home she was supposed to stay inside, after all - she could never go with sibling-Zi or anyone there. Not that sibling-Zi usually wanted her to come along -was it all right for her to come with it this time, so far from the vardo and from Crux?

Faolan was quiet a long moment more, then looked down at Ellandra. "I think I see what people find in the appeal of the ocean as a romantic place." He leaned down and kissed the top of Elle's head. "Love you, girl. Glad we came here."
Zia held out an arm for its sister. "Come, lass. We're gonna go see the ocean and don't need you gettin' gusted up to the air like a kite, eh?" Knowing its "parents" needed some time alone was part of its reasoning, but it also figured its sister really needed to stretch her wings and enjoy freedom for a bit.

Wind was neat... just not so much when it kept blowing when you were standing still. Misha had half a mind to tuck his eartips into his pants, but decided he still had enough dignity left to refrain from such measures. Na, he was glad to see his siblings were getting along like that... for now he'd focus on them.
He hadn't spoken to Ellandra at all so far, as he wasn't really sure where to place himself in that odd sort of triangle-not-triangle. H hardly knew Faolan, but he trusted him to be a nice enough man. Ziazan was alright in his care, and Ellandra sure seemed to -hoho, yeah, she liked him loads. Love, how.. aww. Knowing things were just dandy for them didn't help him work out how to act towards her now though, and sheesh, he wouldn't ask anyone for their opinion about it now. No need to bother them with his own insecurities, time to go and explore!
"Yes, of course you can come. Hang on tight little sister." he chuckled, briefly glanced back at his owner, then decided they could head out. "Let's go then, unpacking is boring."
Misha beckoned for them to follow, and began making his way over to the cliffside in a relaxed gait, so they could keep up. "I'll have to warn you both, it's tricky staying on your feet here. There's a lot of cracks in the rock, and loose pebbles, and you already felt the wind can easily catch you off guard." he told them. Hopefully it didn't sound like he was nagging, but he'd rather tell them than have them get hurt.
"And see those patches? Those are algae, they're really slippery. Just look where you're placing your feet and you should be fine." Doop dee doo, playing teacher a bit loosely while he took them further out. His ears gave a little twitch of satisfaction when he found the maps he had imprinted were seamlessly making the transition to the terrain. Yes, there's the way lower down, just as I thought.
"Found it! 'ttah, if we can get down there we're out of the wind a bit." There indeed was a rocky trail a few metres down to a more sheltered sandy beach, where the salty sea was lapping at the terrain lazily. At the edges the water sprayed up whenever a wave hit the rock formations, but if they didn't get too close they wouldn't have to get soaked right away. For a moment he looked back at Ziazan. Hmmm... He knew how to handle himself on various terrains well enough, but he wasn't entirely sure his sibling was as stable on his feet. Back at Farstep many people could walk around barefoot all day with no consequence, but rocky places like these had entirely other rules. The same thing for clothing. It wasn't particularly chilly out here, but the stiff breeze and the cold water could be unpleasant.
"Tell me if you need a hand okay?" Just be careful. Safety over pride.
_____~
Back at the humans' group, Longway was efficiently taking care of the logistics by now while Banning gave the loooove~birds a few minutes, then calmly invited them to come inside and check out their rooms, settle down after that harrowing ride.

Rhian furled her wings slightly as she perched on Ziazan's arm, not wanting to be blown away again. She flicked her antennae around curiously as they made their way down to the beach, but was mostly quiet, lifting off of her perch when she felt her sibling needed to worry about its balance over her being blown away. In fact, she made her way over to Misha, trying to be more careful of sudden wind gusts this time.
"It's very different here, I like it! Do you like it?" she chirped happily to the oldest of the Essentic group, fluttering near his face and flicking him gently with her antennae. "I don't know very much abotu anything yet, but I want to learn; Sibling-Zi teaches me and so does Ellandra and Ellandra-husband-Faolan, will you tech me thigns too? I'll help you, too! I like to help!"
~*~
Going inside sounded wonderful to Ellandra, wh oclapped a hand over her mouth to fight against the nausea rising within her. 'Oh, babies, why must you do this?' she thought, just a bit of a plaintive whine escaping her throat as she looked up to Faolan with wide eyes, wordlessly asking him to get someone to show them a place she could throw up without disturbing anything - preferably a bathroom but right now she'd take just about anything.

Zia was surprisingly (even to itself) rather steady on its feet, only misstepping a few times, but able to catch itself before falling. Living around Farstep and dodging crowds, animal poop, trash, and other things made one at least a little more nimble than average. Checking where Rhian was every so often to make sure she hadn't blown away, and keeping its own wings tucked close, it followed Misha down the path, cards and feathers blowing away in the wind behind it. Zia wished a little that it had asked Fao to borrow the hooded jacket it had become fond of wearing to hide its wings.
Back at the house, Faolan had located a servant and asked where the nearest bathroom was, then gently hustled Elle to it. Following her in and shutting the door for privacy, he held back his wife's hair for her while she emptied her stomach. Vomiting wasn't something that bothered the man, living in a carnival, but he was concerned about their unborn children making her sick so much this early in the pregnancy. "Feel better after that now, lass?"

Misha kept a steady pace heading down over the rocky trail, relaxedly hopping from spot to spot as if he was walking over a grassy hill, not pulling the oddest stunts and standing in the most precarious tips he could find. It took more than a treacherous path to let him slip up. It was quite a joy for him to see Ziazan manoeuvre around rather adeptly as well, cautious but unafraid to move on. Soon enough, the cliffside shielded them from the worst Southern wind, and he gladly offered Rhian an arm to rest on.
”Yes, I like it loads. It's the first time I see it for real, the ocean and all... It's so much better than the pictures.” he grinned pleasedly, indeed quite happy to be here and share it with his siblings. ”Leaning is good. I know you like to help, that's very nice of you. I'd be glad to learn things together with you, there's so much out there...” Boy, was he ever in a good mood. He may as well enjoy himself before he had to go later, he'd be out all night.
”Ttah, Zia, I bet you could use your wings for balance there. You're doing great.” he called a suggestion over to the young Alter mellowly, just as he himself made it to the sandy strip of beach below with Rhian. Briefly he wondered why Ziazan was keeping himself reigned in so tightly, it was a natural reflex to extend all limbs to avoid falling, right? ”There's nobody watching but us, really.” Indeed, nobody ever came here, and the six of them plus the duo of servants present at the house were the only ones present at the moment. There were no facilities or luxuries nearby, and the roads leading here were harrowing.
Keeping half an eye on it, Misha calmly strode over the sand, feeling the slightly weird texture of it give way, adjusted his gait slightly, and moved on. The only breeze in the bay was the weakly flackering, fluttering wind that couldn't decide whether to come or go, much like the incoming and outgoing waves. For a moment he had to resist the rather powerful urge to 'wheeeeee!' out loud and chase after a flock of seagulls that had taken the other side of the cliff as resting space. .. Would miss Longway be very mad if he got wet? He wasn't sure, but the thought did plaster a giddy smirk onto his face.
__~
Back at the home, Banning had gone, snuck off like some feline predator, to go and mark his territory with various folders of paperwork and pens, leaving Longway to deal with the guests. At least she wouldn't fuss over them, those two were grown up enough to look after themselves, na. She was on stand-by to show them to their room though, and ask where they wanted the Essentics to stay -enough space here to not have to share the same bedroom-, and to see if there was anything she could do for Ellandra.
”If you need anything to help your stomach settle, the pharmacy's up-to-date here.” An open offer, they could always ask. ”And if there's anything you want us to avoid for dinner, just let us know, mkay?” Really, she meant the younger woman no harm. She didn't hold any sort of grudge against her, nor against Faolan for how their first meetings had gone by. Just let me be friendly to you and do my job properly, and nobody needs to get all worked up again, that's all.

Rhian gladly took the offered perch on Misha's arm and looked around curiously, particularly over the ocean and into the distance. "How far does it go?" She asked curiously, wondering if she could make it over it, it looked like it would be fun to fly over if she wouldn't get blown around too much. . . Hrm.............. she flicked her antennae about a few times, wondering if this would be something she could get away with. . . "Can I fly across it?"
~*~
Meanwhile, Ellandra leaned back against Faolan with an exhausted little sigh. "I'm just. . . glad that didn't happen on the way here," she mumbled softly, before rising to her feet unsteadily and heading out of the bathroom, confident her husband would follow her. Smiling politely to miss Longway - she was more tired than guarded at the moment, she said, "The only thing I'd worry about is deep-fried chocolate smothered twinkie dogs, but since I doubt there are any of those here anything will probably be all right. . ."
