User ImageThe tiger striped female was prowling during day hours which was strange for her as she usually slept during day light hours to stay clear of those in prides. She didn't want to cause trouble and usually prides picked lands for food being plentiful. Her bright blues keeping watch for anything that might pose a danger for her. She was roaming in between pride borders and the sun was out at full wrath. She was walking slowly and panting, there had to be some water form somewhere....oasis? Lake? River?

River!

She smiled water is all she could ask for. Her ears flicked forward as she was near the Bhanu'Ecchumati's border on the river. She was still alert waiting for any potential danger including crocs. As she walked down banks to the river a few birds flew from the shallows further away from her. She was the potential predator now. The last thing she ate was a baby gazelle, it had been taken by a hoard of hyenas so she was still quite hungry. That was what happened when you didn't have anyone backing you up in a pride or even a mate. Briseis entered the shallows enjoying her own company as she cooled down.

A large obsidian form immerged from the brush, his earring flecked ears hanging low. The heat that once immobilized him as an adolescent was nothing more than another tick in his fur now. His tail swayed behind him, bumping up against any and all tree life unfortunate enough to be in his way.

His destination at the moment was the river. A quick drink to quench his parched throat and then he would be back on the hunt. Before he could be considered a full memeber of the Bhanu, he had to prove his worth by hunting for the pride and he'd hate for rumors to spread that he'd been shirking his duties. So far, he'd been unsuccessful and it was started to wear on his fragile nerves.

Birds.

But why were they flying away? He was too far out yet to have spooked them. Raising one eyebrow up, he merely shrugged and continued on. The whole avian species was too jumpy for their own good.

When he neared, however, he knew. Her scent hit him with the incoming breeze and soon, he was forcing himself not to crouch. This was his lands, the pride that had accepted him, not her. There was no reason to hide from her. Confidently, he strutted out of the brush, large head tossed arrogantly into the air with his indigo mane billowing out around him.

She was beautiful, he had to admit. Abrafo had never seen stripes like that in his lifetime and how they balanced out her white coat was splendid. However, she was still an outsider and too close to the pridelands. As a warning, he approached the water just a bit away from her and bent to take a drink.

Briseis happily drank and the birds grew accustomed to her presence. They soon started to go about they’re daily fishing and bathing. She was unaware that there was an overprotective, guarding male here. She wasn’t technically on the pride’s lands and most prides considered it good enough. There was a thing called on territory and off. She considered herself off. As she drank the birds started spooking again and her ears flared back. She looked in her peripheral to see a large, ebony lion getting huffy and puffy at her.

She rumbled at him in retaliation, she was saying she wasn’t going to take what he had to dish. And with that she moved farther down the river and away from him. In her aggravation she chased out the birds that were down in the banks. Her tail flicked behind her as she laid down in the cool waters panting.

The lazy, smaller cat just laid there every once in awhile she would chomp at the water when a brave fish swam at her paws. Once in awhile she tended to catch one and eat it as if she were a domestic cat with a sardine. She played in it for a bit, usually she swam she loved swimming. Swimming and climbing trees were her thing. She could do it with expertise with her slimmer, smaller figure. Most lions couldn’t climb trees, though there was a male who did a pretty good job of it. He was quite interesting, clumsy…but friendly.

Ever so often she would look over him to make sure the male wasn’t closer or stalking her. She wouldn’t win that fight, though she would get a few good swipes in. She would be done with adult male. She was still a young lioness and wasn’t quite in the competition just yet.

A fine ebony eyebrow rose at the females blatant display of independence. He merely shook his head and started drinking again. The more time he spent with her, the less he saw her as a threat. Abrafo thought about charging her, just to see a reaction, but seeing as that would be seen as cruel in most eyes he chose not to. He was mean, sometimes rude, but never cruel.

His paws joined at the digits as he perked up in the water. The little chicadi was upset. Oh, how sad. Grinning, Abrafo walked slowly and confidently into the stream, allowing water to coat his paws before smacking them along his mane to cool himself off. Watching her in the water was like watching a cub. Abrafo hated cubs. And yet, he couldn't help feeling a bit mischevious. Slowly, as not to startle her in attacking, he walked down stream towards her at a trot. His paws barely sloshed the water around him.

When he got closer to her, he tilted his head to the side with a kind smile and jogged on by. As soon as he turned away from her, he took his closest forepaw and flicked water onto her face before running off. He wasn't showing that he was sorry in the least, but it was too hot to worry about that. No, he wanted to play.

Briseis watched as he came closer and closer to her, her ears were flat upon her head. Just a warning, but as he edged closer it was less than what she was expecting. He merely splashed her in the face. She didn’t know if it was insulting or just trying to make it casual. Her eyes narrowed. She hated over contemplating. She got to her feet and romped after him, she half circled him before jumping and doing a slight belly flop next to him. In the action she has soaked both him and herself in the cool waters. She enjoyed it, she liked it. Her bright eyes watched him carefully, she didn’t know what to say to him. Or what the appropriate thing to say would be, when they had gotten off to such a rocky start.

Abrafo watched her closely out the corner of his eye. His tail swayed behind him, confidently keeping itself out of the water by just skimming the top before tapping his flank. Survival instincts kicked in when the female came closer, more so when she began to circle him and it took a fair bit of effort to keep himself from lashing out at her.

Then she belly flopped and he was lost. Shutting his eyes to the onslaught of water he shuddered as the vast exspanse of his mane came tumbling down his neck and face in a sopping curtain. Looking slightly forlorn, he turned to her before grinning. She wasn't going to get the last throw in this fight. Abrafo hunkered low into the cool water, his rump angled slightly and shaking. Holding his paws up, he used the force of his slide forward to send a wave at her.

Briseis smirked, she liked water so the fact she was getting wet on an overly hot day made her day. She was just glad this lion wasn't going to be the jerk she thought he was. Her cool blue eyes gazed at him as she got another wave on her back. Refreshing. She kicked back water at him as she pranced around in the water as if she belonged in it. She had her fair share of surviving when she was young. She sought out water only because she was a good swimmer and not a whole lot were. She only had to be faster than the next guy to get past the crocodiles.

She looked at the drenched male and she went to the banks and shook herself. "Well that was positively pleasant." She watched the male carefully. He had his fair share of scars. She wondered where from but it would be impolite to ask. Perhaps it was just brotherly brawl.

"Are you always that nice to lionesses you meet?"

Abrafo's eyes lingered in places they would do well not to. He trudged back up to the bank behind her with his legs sloshing water around in a flashy display. Before getting out he dipped back down. It was nice to just relax once and a while. It took a load off his mind to be able to find peace.

When she spoke of the experience he merely grunted and shook out his fur. The thick folds of his mane would take longer to dry out. He flashed a small smile to the striped female. "Not usually. I haven't seen a lioness in long time. Where I come from niceness isn't a prized quality."

How big you were, how many you could kill, how loud you were- those were the key elements. He wondered if she had to live such a life. But then, if she were rogue, she could choose than on her own, couldn't she?

Abrafo licked his paw and used it to shake out a tangle in his mane. "What of you? You looked like a fish." He chuckled.

"Maybe I was a fish in a past life..." her eyes widened to increase the dramatics in her face. She could help but to stare at the male he was...rather pleasant to look at. Her tail flicked. She snickered, "I knew a few lions in my day that weren't too nice...they had an abrupt end to life however." she added as if it were nothing.

She continued to preen herself clean. "That doesn't sound like a lioness I would want to hang around with. I would be afraid to get close to get claws in my face."

"I live in a place where it has been over run by rogues...our heirs were chased out and I live in chaos. I leave to escape the pains of the place. I can't leave it though..." she admitted. "I like being petite so, being big wouldn't be my best quality," she replied in a teasing tone.

Abrafo chuckled perversely as he shook his main out. She had unique way of thinking. It was something he found refreshing, but not as much as her body. His mate of choice was a leopard and while beautiful she held none of the features that a lioness had.

Pleased with his half a** attempt at cleanliness the male lounged back into a comfortable squat. "Nor I." He waved his paw in the air. "Only some are vicious as our males, but most are there to just be who they are. None are as appealing as you are, though." It was true. He wanted to tap a couple asses, but that was just it. This female made him want to chat, something he hadn't done in a while. Not that he wouldn't mind the sex.

"That...sounds like hell. I understand your attachment, though. My old pride was overtaken by floods and though I still hold loyalty I was forced to flee." He scanned her over top to bottom with a lecherous smile. "Your just perfect the way you are."

She could smell the lust on him a mile away and she liked getting down and dirty. She wouldn't not admit up to it. She was as perverted as half of her male friends and thats how she rolled. Whether anyone cared, she didn't. If she had her choice she would join a pride where she could have a harem of males.

"Well aren't you just charming," she stated, her eyes lingering on him before turning away. She flicked her tail, oh this technique was almost perfected for her. The playing hard to get, never failed. She never got his name though, that was a shame.

She turned her head back towards him, "Oh my names Briseis, by the way." She smiled and turned again to continue padding up the river. The love game might be her favorite game at all...or maybe it was cause she was so damn good at it.

"I try to be." He replied on a husky growl. He was an animal of great passion and not much intelligence. It was in his power to have her chase him, but it slipped through his claws like sand. Abrafo's eyes burned to memory the way her rump moved.

He stood to follow her. His large frame slipped along in her wake with intense ease for one so big. She had his blood on fire. "Lovely," he murmured. Names meant nothing to him. He was horrible at remembering them anyway. "I'm Abrafo. " His paws came to a halt some ways off the bank. "Why are you going back to the water when we can have so much fun on land?"

Briseis watched the male...he looked like he was going to explode which made her giggle inside but also want him more. Oh dear, another sticky situation. Her ears flicked forward as she continued to watch him. The striped female pawed in the clear water before turning away from him and continued forward.

"Don't you like the water?" she smirked before exiting the water and shaking herself off and trailing off in the distance. She knew the male would follow and she knew what were to come afterward. It wasn't rocket science but it did however become a reoccurring theme for the female.
