No one had thought Nuri would take another lover, not after the loss of his first wife, and then the loss of his second as well as one of his twin sons. But no one questioned his decision upon meeting the lovely Temarin of Windsong, favored of Ifa. Her voice was intoxicating, and titled the echo of the goddess. She was pleasant, sweet of nature, and connected to what was generally considered a passive clan.
All in the kingdoms adored her, and the celebration of a wedding contract followed not too long after the celebration of the reborn god.
There was, however, one person who loathed Temarin. He hid away in his room at the contract celebration. But on the day Temarin's pregnancy was announced, Shim disappeared altogether.

Midna stepped beneath the burning Ahmenti sun and relished the gold heat. It had been a long time since she visited the world. Not since the demon attack on Earth marked a year after Pat's death. She'd have come back earlier, if it hadn't been for Pat's rebirth and the knowledge of his hateful grudge towards her, but he'd since left Ahmentia and the godlands in search for his dead witch. Mid felt a slight twinge inside that she ignored, and continued to trek ahead in the sand.

The Titan opened his eyes, the front of his head throbbing dully from the transfer between himself and the Wanderer. He rose from his bed, massaging his temples, going through the same ritual he did every time he contacted one of his other selves. So far, the Wanderer had nothing to report, and the Stone God largely ignored the other two. And so, the Guardian was the only one with anything to really share with the others.
Anc made his way to the door of his chamber. The festivites were still going strong in the wake of Nuri's marriage and his wife's pregnancy. But he wasn't going to join the party. His years with the Ahmenti, and his self-appointed station of the Tugali family guardian had afforded him a unique bond with Nuri's line. And now, a twinge in the back of his head overpowered the previous headache, telling him that there was something amiss with his charge.
Stepping into the hall, the Titan closed his eyes, psychic fingers touching every mind near him. Within a handful of feet about him, he could only feel a couple scattered couples enjoying the festivities in private, a few drunken Ahementi, and hundreds of mice running about. He frowned, and went to Shim and Nuri's rooms.
***
A glint in the sands caught Midna's attention, a few hundred feet from her, moving across her path.

Nuri and his wife were out on the balcony with the party, Nuri's room left empty other than a few servants straightening up and leaving the nightly drink next to his bed.
Shim's room, however was empty and quiet. There was no trace of the sulking boy.
As Midna walked she wrapped the shear scarf about her neck to keep the sand from flying into her nose and mouth. Her gold and black eyes narrowed at the sight of the sparkle, and being a curious cat she continued her walk towards it.

Anc brushed past Nuri's mind, leaving that old tingle in his friend's mind, before moving to Shim's room. He opened the door to the boy's room, and his heart dropped. "Oh, Hell." Quickly, and quitely, Anc tore the boy's room apart, looking for a trace, anything as to where the boy had gone, struggles, items packed, anything. *** As Midna got closer, she found that the shine was a large-ish man in armor, wrapped in white cloth.

Nuri blinked, accustomed to the tingling feel, but continued to poor some wine for himself and his new bride. Ahmenti culture had yet to understand that alcohol wasn't particularly good for the babies.
In the corner of Shim's room the remains of a clay vase lay scattered around the floor, the flowers it once contained shredded on the ground. If it had been any other vase, it wouldn't have been too alarming, but that particular vase once belonged to Shim's dead mother. It was one of the few things he'd treasured.
*** (because they look like pretty stars) ***
Midna pulled back the scarf slightly, looking up at the man as she made her way over. She wasn't one for fear, and lack of caution often got her into a hot spot, but some things a cat will never learn. "Hey," She said, taking a few more steps through the sound, "Sun a little too hot out here for you, isn't it?"

Anc examined the broken vase, running his hands over the broken clay, before making his way to Nuri's room. "Nuri! NURI!" He shouted, making his way past the guards and slipping through the door, kicking it shut behind him, "Damnit, Nuri!"
***
The man turned to face Midna, the man's skin a dark grey, a pair of bright golden eyes devoid of iris or pupil stared back at her, a smile on his face. "Ah, no, the sun ain't an issue at all. Spent me a fair bitta time walkin' round in it."

Nuri spat out a bit of wine, startled at Anc's interruption of the festivities. "What is it?" He asked, stepping towards his long kept friend. He laid a hand on Temarin's shoulder, keeping her seated, before walking up to Anc, and once more asking, "what is it?"
***
Mid tilted her head, examining the man. "I should know you, or at least I think I should. You look vaguely familiar...which means I probably met you when I was a kid." She held out a hand, "Midna Dunham."

Anc chuckled, rubbing his goatee. "You mom might have brought you here when you were little. I ain't been da Earth for awhile. Nowadays I have a few too many names to mention. Just call me Anc."

Nuri's eyes widened in concern, "We have to find him." He placed a hand up to his head, running it through his hair.
"Find who?" Temarin asked, her voice smooth as silk and naturally calming.
Nuri glanced to her, the stress over his son melting away from his face nearly instantly, though it still held in his words."Shim's gone. He was probably snatched."
"I talked to him earlier, he was just angry." Temarin glanced at Anc, her blue-green eyes clear and pretty as her voice. "He's probably hiding to make a mess of the party, if we give him what he wants, then he won't learn his lesson." She gave Nuri a kiss, "Don't worry about your son, Xihan."
Nuri glanced back at Anc with a slight sigh, "She's right. It would be what he wants."
***
Mid tilted her hip in a slightly stubborn manner. "Anc, huh? How do you know I'm from Earth?" She raised a slight eyebrow, "you know my mother?"

It might be whut 'e wants, but that don't mean he needs da be runnin' off 'n makin' trouble.Sorry fer worryin' yeh." *** Anc chuckled, crossing his arms. "Yeap. Old friend of her's and yer uncle Nuri. Picked the bits I needed outta yer brain. Knew yer name befer yeh said it." He replied, shifting his sword on his back slightly, "So, yeh gonna sit out here and admire the sand, or do yeh wanna find sum shelter 'n a meal?"

Temarin glanced back at him, an innocent look on her face, but she quietly put a hand on Nuri's shoulder, almost possessively.
Nuri gave a short nod, "If you feel the need." He set a smile on his face, all the worry of his son oddly gone as he went to grab another cup of wine.
***
Mid gave him a scowl, "I'd appreciate you staying out of my brain." There was a sharp brush of wind as she said it, the element strongly aligned with Midna's temper. She kept her eyes slightly narrowed but as was usual her temper was one to die rather fast. "Sure, food would be nice. It's been a while since I've had a good Ahmenti meal...that wasn't one of my mother's godawful attempts to cook." She glanced at Anc from the side of her eyes. "She ever try and cook for you?"

Anc shot her a look, almost a warning, but left the room, his hand going to the hilt of the longsword he wore at his hip. *** The wind pushed back to Midna, a smile spreading across the Titan's lips. "I always poke in when I meet someone. I'm hard da kill, but that dunt mean I ain't gonna be careful." Anc started walking, looking over his shoulder, "Midna, I can eat damn near anything. Yer mom's cookin' wasn't the best, but a guy like me's grateful da have anyone make enough da fill me."

As Anc left the room he could hear Temarin's sing song voice as she called Nuri over to her, saying something about feeling their god-twins and the future rulers of Ahmentia wiggling in her womb.
***
Midna's reaction was sharp as the wind stopped quickly barely a second before reaching her. "Don't tempt me to turn this into a power play." She warned Anc, before the wind died down again. Her mouth twitched with a slight humor, "My god man...the woman leaves the shells in her eggs and combines tuna with peanutbutter. Your taste buds must have died years ago. My Da loves the woman, beyond anything, and even he pales at the sight of her heading to the kitchen."

Anc headed into the ballroom, being written out of the story for now.

The Titan just chuckled to her threat. "I'd win. Hard to argue with brain hemorrhaging. Ask Nuri about it, sometime. Yer a good kid. Same flare yer brother's got da him. Just oughta be careful with it. Not all of us are as lucky as he is. "As fer the food... Where I come from, having yer food dead is a luxury, let alone cooked, and a good meal is stuff of myth. Earth-Folk like da take the fun outta livin', what with climate control, electricity, indoor plumbing and fast food. And yer ********' supers."
