What do you think about joining the army?
What are the good parts and bad parts of joining?

I have a couple friends in the army.
I'm all for them serving the country but I worry about them so much D;.
One is like my brother and he's over in Iraq right now, want him to get back over to the states!
I'd personally never join the army.
I'm not a morning person in the slightest and I'd either talk back alot and/or cry lol.

Ever since I've known him actually razz he gets out in October and comes back over here.
He's not sure at this point if he wants to serve more or get out and find another job.
I hope he gets out :/ I worry enough about him.

oh.. did he like have a 6 years contract?
Im thinking of joining the army since my parents want me to provide for myself. But my mom wouldn't let me go which im hating right now because i want my own path. I dont want to follow their path that they are telling me to go.
I was thinking of like civil engineering in the army or something. Maybe Army Reserve?

I think it was 4 year? He joined when he was 18 or so and he's 22 now I believe, I'm horrible ;P.
Oh thats understandable, but I can see your Mom's view too. My friend Bryan wants to join up and I said if he did I'd break his leg or something so that the army wouldn't take him lol.
It's just so dangerous right now :[ but if you can find something where you won't really be in danger... then go for it if you want it. Just be careful if you do D:!!

Just be careful if you do D:!! oh... but i really want to be independent. I also want my mom to let go of me. She says that she loves me but if she really does then she would let go of me. Ya know? I might go someday this week or next week to see what kind of jobs i can get in the army for like civil engineering.

I think your Mom really does love you, she's just worried about you going off to war and getting hurt or worse probably. I know if I had a kid I sure as heck wouldn't want them enlisting at this time no matter what kind of job they wanted to do in the army.
But yeah, go in and see what "safe" jobs they have, then maybe talk to your Dad first then if he approves try and both talk to your Mom?

My dad approves but not my mom. I tried talking to her today. All she did was ignore me.

Does anyone know if you sign for like a 6 years contract. If the military will take you back to war after finishing the 6 years contract?

Hmm, just keep trying then, get lots of papers and information and have a sit-down type talk about it with her maybe.

Cause i heard that recruiters will lie just to get you to join them. I had the talk with my mom a lot of times already but its not working out well.
