He had bade his family fair well and went out on his own. It was time he found some place to be called home-not a place of fear or disgrace. After being in his last pride for far to long without any hope-his mothers and sister left and he parted them. It was time he was on his own.
And so he traveled, like he hadn't ever before. He was able to be daring now, not confined to one certain area... not bound under rules and fears. Under cruel kings. He was free. He stood atop the stone, his half mane flowing. He was so happy. As happy as he could be. He was sad that his mothers were gone-and his sister too... he was happy they were free from their past as well.
But now-he wanted to create something new in his life... but what?

It had been a good number of days now, Kaiolohia wasn't sure exactly how many, since she had found her sister wandering the plains and joined her. Since then, Kaio and Kalama had decided that they would form a pride all their own. It would be a pride only for leopards and leopard hybrids and no lion would ever, ever, ever be allowed near. To the young leopardness, such a place sounded wonderful. She could be safe there, along with her sister. But what real pride only had two members? None. It was this reasoning that had caused the sisters to momentairly split up and so, with much caution and fear, Kaio had set out alone to find a leopard and try to get them to join.
The young, blue female was walking along, glancing here and there, when she first spotted a maned male out of the corner of her eye. He was sitting up on a great rock and the only thing Kaio could think was that it was a lion. She panicked and, with her heart beating at an accelerated rate, she raced toward a nearby tree and did not stop until she was among the very top branches. Hopefully, he hadn't seen her and she'd be safe. Hopefully.

He caught sight of a light blue form racing towards a tree. He stopped and watched her go, his pale head cocked to the side. He stood up, looking around to see if he could spot any danger. There was none. He furrowed his brow and stepped down from the stone, heading towards the tree in which the stranger had run. He lifted his head back and spotted her, a leopard. He smiled-his non-tufted tail wagging.
"Hello up there!? Is there something I should know about stalking these plains?" He called up to her, his green eyes bright. Perhaps this leopardess would be a better conversation than his late king-who also happened to be his father.
"You climbed that tree fast!" He said, trying to keep the conversation light.

Oh no! He'd seen her! Kaio's heart was racing as the strange male approached her hiding spot, but when he got closer, the leopard could see that his tail wasn't like that of a lions. In fact, she was reminded of her two uncles, both of them leopard hybrids. The leopardess frowned as the male began to talk, still uncertain and fearful of him.
"Y-You're not a lion, are y-you?" She finally called down, her silver eyes focused on him. Kaio took a few steps foward on the tree so that she wasn't quite at the very top, but she was still pretty high up.

Thuto gave a laugh. "Nah. My mother was but my Father was a leopard... apparently. I never met him but my mom told me horrible things about him..." He said simply, sitting down and giving his paw a lick. He didn't blame her for thinking he was a lion-he did have a rather nice mane growing in. He shook his shoulders to settle his mane in fact. He stood up and gazed at her.
"I'm Thuto... no need to fear me... If I were a lion I'd have tossed myself off a cliff long ago!" He said with a laugh. "Don't get me wrong... my mothers were lions but... I prefer being me!"

"Oh..." Kaio paused for a moment before she slowly climbed all the way down the tree and jumped down to stand infront of Thunto. "I'm Kaio... I'm sorry I ran from you earlier. I thought you were a lion." The female flicked her ear back, her tail waving back and forth as she glanced down at the pink scars on each of her shoulders. "Are you out here all alone?" She asked quietly, her silver eyes moving back to Thunto.

Thuto puffed out his chest. "Of course I am..." He said with a smile. "I left my Mothers not long ago to start my new life while they started theirs. My one mom was pregnant last I knew-so they didn't need me following them around anymore... so I bade the goodbye and here I am"
He smiled, not really noticing her scars or anything. He for one wasn't much for appearances. "Nice to meet you Kaio!" He said with a small bow. "Nah... not a lion... just a-a-leopon... I think thats what I am called..." He wrinkled his nose. "I can't ever remember what I was called... the proper term."
He sat back and gave his neck a good scratch. "what are you doing all alone out here?"

Kaio nodded, listening quietly as he explained. "I'm not alone." She quickly stated when he sounded like she thought she was. "I uh... My sister's around here somewhere. We just split up so we could find leopards who would be willing to come with us and join the pride that we're starting." She drifted of into a thought of how nice it'd be, before she shook her head and looked back over to Thunto. "You.... You wouldn't perhaps be interested in... in coming with us, would you?"

She wasn't alone. Good. He hated seeing females alone. If his mother hadn't been alone she would not have gotten herself into the mess she had. He sort of swiveled his ears around to see if he could hear the sister, his green eyes blinking. "Ah." He said in understanding. Leopards. He wasn't a leopard... which sort of made him side step a bit uncomfortably. Not one thing or another. But when her words passed her lips he lifted his head, looking a bit confused.
"But... I am not a leopard." He said simply. "Just the cross between one and a lion. I am not-what most consider-I don't know how to say it." He looked side to side. "Not like everyone else."

"But you're part leopard, so that means that you're enough leopard to join our pride." Kaio called back as she hesitantly, and a bit timidly, headed back for the ground. "I understand if you d-don't want to come, but I can pr-promise that if you did j-join, that it'd be sa-s-safe to live there. We're not letting cheetahs or lions join so it'd be just us leopards... My sister and I have met t-too many l-li-lions and ch-cheetahs who were..... were c-c-cruel to invite them to join as well...." She trailed off, looking away with a shuddering sigh before she returned silver eyes toward Thunto. "S-So? W-will you join?"

Thuto thought about it, looking side to side for a moment before smiling and nodding. Of course, he was part leopard and if it was any consideration, he was raised by loving mother lionesses. He began to follow after her, his tail swaying. "Of course I will." he said with a smile, padding beside her.
"Sounds like my kind of place!"

Kaiolohia smiled, "I'm glad you're coming." She said softly even as she subconciously widened the gap between them. "We've just got to meet up with my sister and find some more pride members and then we should be ready to head for the pridelands."

Thuto nodded. He really wasn't sure if he would be able to do any good in a pride of his own but he was going to try. He was out to make his mother proud if he could... so perhaps this would be the way. "Of course..." He said. "I am glad I am coming too! Hehe! Never been apart of a pride willingly before." He added.
He picked up the speed so that she didn't get too far behind, he wasn't a good runner as it was, so he had to really keep on his toes. He wasn't exactly built for running as well. More for fighting. "So, just lead the way..."
