In Ben's opinion, Thali had gone and done something extremely stupid. She had invited everyone, and when she said everyone, she meant everyone. Included in the invites were, Matth, Risa, Stasia, Vate, and their children. He was never one to argue with her though (that was a lie), so he agreed and helped her set up the picnic tables at the park.
Joshua and Vinny were being good children and setting out plates, forks, knives and spoons. "When do you think they'll show up?" Josh asked, looking up at his mother. He was almost as excited as she was--he hadn't seen Ginger and Zemel since the bonfire, and he wanted to see Nattie as well.
As soon as he said that, familar faces appeared. Risa was walking towards them, carrying a strangely colored infant, with Miles at her side. Vate was trailing behind them, holding the hand of a golden--literally golden toddler. "Hi Miles! Hi Lexie!" Josh greeted with a smile. "Oh, and hi Aunt Risa, Uncle Vate." He added, looking at the adults politely.
Risa said hello, and hurried to help Thali set up. In contrast, Vate sat down on the bench, and yawned. "Nice day, isn't it?" He said lazily.

The calm of the park was broken by the groups arrival. Stasia ran as fast as her legs would carry her, sprinting across the grass as a high breathless laugh came from deep inside her. The prize was gripped in her arms; a rather large, rather old-looking book. A Cheshire cat-like was plastered on her face as she ran.
"Anastasia, I fail to see the humor in this. Give my book back at once!" Matthias was none too enthused about having to chase after the half-elf. His long black tresses flew out behind him as he ran, a small frown on his face. His gait was different, almost bordering on predatorial as he chased after her.
"Josh!" Ginger called out, waving to her friend, a grin spread across her face. She grabbed her brother's hand and all but dragged him along as she ran over towards their friend. "Josh, check it! We finally grew too!"
'Zuba was one of the few still just walking. She held one of her infant cousins in her arms awkwardly, as if afraid she might break her. Aife simply snuggled against her older cousin and, more importantly, the hoodie.
Nataya was carrying the other cousin, holding the little deer-boy close. She glanced around with half-closed eyes, stifling a yawn. She looked like she'd just woken up, or like she was about to fall alseep. She smiled serenely, looking up and waving to her friends before going to comfort the scared little boy she was carrying.

When the group arrived, both Thali and Risa looked up. They wore almost indentical grins as they watched. Ben noticed the two women and shook his head. He'd wondered where Thali'd gotten her prankster streak. Now he knew. Vate gave a lazy chuckle, and leaned against the table. The sunshine always made him tired.
"Hi Matth." Risa said with a wave, that ever-so-amused look never leaving her face. "How are you?" She ignored Thali's mutter about not needing to ask that--it was obvious that he was annoyed.
Joshua smiled brightly at the twins. "I told you you would!" He said, placing the last plate on the table before going to meet them. "I've missed you!" He paused, and looked to Zemel. "Still cooking?" He asked. "Oh," He added, "This is Miles." He gestured to the red head. "He's my cousin."
Miles smiled at Zemel. "We know each other, Josh. Now we're the same height." He told his friend. "How've you been?"
Vinny was quick to go meet with 'Zuba, he knew her best out of this group, and hadn't seen her since the art museum. "Hi 'Zuba!" He said with a smile. "Hey, you grew!" He paused, and found his cheeks going hot. "Very pretty." Was all he could manage.

"Anastasia, this is not funny! If you don't give it back, so help me, I'll-" The fae's rant was cut short by a high peal of laughter.
"You'll what? Sprinkle pixie dust on me or something? Psh." True, Stasia knew taunting Matthias wasn't the smartest thing to do, but it was hella fun. She giggled, busy evading her old friend as she made her way to the picnic tables.
Matthias, for the moment being, ignored the others. He wanted his book, and he wanted it now. He reached out, managing to grab Stasia by the collar. The half-elf squeaked as she was jerked back and let go, falling backwards onto the ground. Matthias plucked the book from her arms as she fell, heading over to the others and leaving Stasia there on the ground. Served her right...
Ginger grinned, skidding to a stop in front of her friend. "I missed you too, buddy!" she said, giggling before proceeding to give the boy a mild noogie. She then looked to Miles, smiling. "Hi there!" she said, holding her hand out. "The name's Ginger, nice to meet you."
Zemel looked to Josh, nodding. "Yeah, still cooking. 'Zuba and I worked together to make the food." he said, motioning to the picnic basket he had looped on his arm. He smiled at Miles. "I've been pretty good. How have you been?"
'Zuba offered one of her faint smiled to Vinny. "'Lo, Vinny." she said softly, nodding once. "Yeah, I-" She was cut off, then shook her head. "No, not pretty, but thanks anyways." What was it with people wanting to call her pretty? Were they all blind or something?
Aife took one look at Vincent and cringed; oh no, new scary person. She hid her little face against 'Zuba's hoodie, whimpering. Why wasn't 'Zuba making the scary monster go away?
Nataya avoided all the hubbub and heading for the picnic tables, taking a seat. A small yawn escaped her lips, despite her efforts to quell it. She leaned against the table, resting her chin lightly on her cousin's soft hair.
Koloro literally clung to Nataya, his large doe-like eyes peering out at all the strangers. Strange stranger people were strange and scary!

In an instant, all signs of Vate's laziness disapeared. He glared at Matth, and promptly went over to help Stasia up. "Are you okay?" He asked, concerned. "If he hurt you I'll--" He paused in what would have been a long rant of what he'd do to anyone who hurt his girlfriend, and grinned. "I'll tell you later." He couldn't say it in present company. Fae were strange folk, and he never wanted to anger one.
Thali and Risa exchanged a look, before the fae went to see if any healing was required. Thali stayed behind, to greet Matth. "Hi Matth!" She said, offering him a bright smile.
Joshua would have given a return noogie, but girls usually didn't like those. So he simply smiled at her. "Sometime, you'll have to show me how to cook." He said, looking to Zemel. "Mom says I burn everything--and I do. Even toast." He made a face.
Miles smiled, took the girl's hand and shook it. "Zemel's sister, right?" He asked. "My cousin's told me about you." He looked to Zemel, and his smile grew. "I've been good. Got a new baby sister." He pointed to the green infant now in Thali's arms. "Her name's Ellie."
Vinny just smiled and shook his head. "I know you'll deny it, but it's true." He said. He knew what 'Zuba was like, because he was like that too. "Oh, hi Aife." He smiled at the baby.

Stasia smiled as she was helped up. "Yeah, Vate, I'm fine." she said, rubbing the back of her head. She then shook her head. "You won't do anything. Pixie-boy and I hurt each other all the time; that's how we show we care." she explained, chuckling. "Thanks for the concern, though."
Matthias smiled, chuckling at the nickname. "Hello, Thali." he greeted formally, bowing slightly. "Hello, little one." he said, adressing the infant in the woman's arms.
Zemel tried to hide his shock; burning everything? "Of course I'll show you!" he said, almost too quickly. It was a crime not being able to cook, wasn't it? Apparently, in Zemel's book, it was. "It's not that hard once you get the hang of it. It takes practice."
Ginger smiled, nodding. "Yep!" she said, feeling flattered that he'd heard of her. And that Josh had talked about her. D'aww, she felt so special!
Zemel looked, then smiled back to Miles. "She's adorable. Congratulations, Miles!" he said.
'Zuba shook her head. "It's not, really." she said, frowning slightly. "There are lots prettier."
Aife was currently trying to hide behind 'Zuba's sleeve, away from the scary monster that knew her name.

Vate frowned slightly, clearly hurting each other wasn't a good way to show people you cared in his opinion. He shot the back of Matthias' head a glare before muttering darkly. "Want to sit down?" He asked, looking back to Stasia.
"It's nice to see you again." The elf said with a smile, and looked down at the infant she was holding. "Oh, this is Ellie. Risa's daughter." She explained. Said infant cooed, and reached for the dark haired one. For a baby, she was rather intelligent. She remembered seeing creatures like this from a high place.
"Oh, would you like to hold her?" Thali asked. "She seems to have taken a liking to you--she's quite--" She paused and offered him the child. "Picky." She finished.
Joshua smiled at the promise of learning how to cook from an expert. "Thanks." He said, before looking towards Matthias and his mother. "I'm going to ask Mr. Matthias a question, I'll be right back." He promised.
He made his way towards the table, and tapped Matth on the shoulder. His eyes shifted slightly, and he made sure his mother was looking in the other direction when he spoke. "Um.. Mr. Matthias? Mom says fae know magic." He commented in a whisper. "Do you think you can teach me? I know some--I've been teaching myself. I accidently switched bodies with a friend--" It was a white lie to call Casia a friend. Josh liked her well enough. "And once I put my parents to sleep. Mom doesn't really approve--but.. Will you teach me? Do you think you can?"
Miles smiled at Ginger. If she was Zemel's twin, she had to be as cool as he was. And in Miles' book, Zemel was pretty darn cool. "Thanks." He said happily, looking at Zemel. "I like her--she's different, though. Makes flowers appear everytime she's upset about something."
Vinny shook his head at 'Zuba. "It doesn't matter if people are prettier. You're still pretty." He pointed out. "My mom says beauty is in the eye of the beholder." He looked at Aife. "I'm scaring her." He noted.

Stasia smiled, nodding. "Yeah, sitting sounds good to me." She said, following him. Yeah, her and Matthias' way of showing they cared was a bit unconventional, but it worked for them, and that's all that mattered.
Matthias nodded, smiling faintly in return. "It is rather nice seeing you again." he agreed, then smiled. Ellie, huh? That had to be a diminutive of some other name, but he could ask later. "Yes, I would." he said, carefully taking the green-hued infant from the elf, holding her carefully.
The raven-haired man looked down at the child, listening. He then sighed. "Do not they have classes at the Liberty Center you could take?" he asked. Teaching was not something he wanted to get roped into, to be honest.
Zemel tilted his head. Flowers appear? "Well, at least she doesn't tear up stuff like someone else I know." A meaningful glance was shot at his sister, along with a snicker.
"That was only once, Zem!" Ginger said, pouting and crossing her arms in a very childish manner. She shook her head, smiling slightly, as if she'd shaken the negativity off. "Making flowers sounds cool; she'd be good to have around a greenhouse or something."
'Zuba just shook her head, but didn't argue. What was the point? He wasn't listening. She hugged the infant she held, offering a small smile. "Doesn't do well with new people." she explained.

Vate sat on the bench, and took a piece of watermelon. He took a bite. Perfect. The watery juice tumbled down his chin, before he could catch it. He wiped it off with his hand. "You want something to eat?" He asked, looking to Stasia with a smile.
Elissa cooed, and took a fist full of Matth's hair. "'ow ooo." She babbled. "Ooo 'ae. 'awed 'fore." If you'd asked anyone to translate, the would have, but not been able to tell you what she meant. It was nonsense. She didn't know Matth--and she'd never seen him before.
Josh shook his head at Matth. "No magic classes." He said with a frown. "Can you teach me? I'll pay you--I have gold. I can pay, as much as you want." He said with the wisest nod a boy his age could give.
"Yeah--I think if she's really mad, she might turn everyone into dandelions!" Miles said excitably. Dandelions.

Stasia smiled snagging a sandwich before taking a seat next to Vate. "Already got something." she said, waving the sandwich a bit before taking a bite. The bread was a bit soft from the Miracle Whip, but it still tasted pretty good.
Matthias just chuckled at the infant. Saw him before? They hadn't met before, and he was sure he'd remember seeing a green infant. He then looked back down to Josh. "I don't want your gold." he said politely, shaking his head.
Ginger giggled at the thought. Dandelions? That'd be awesome! Dandelions were such a pretty shade of yellow, and they were a very enduring plant. (And they were NOT a weed!)
"Remind me not to make her made." Zemel said, a little disturbed at the thought. Everyone as dandelions? Wouldn't they get run over by lawnmowers, or sprayed with herbicides, or yanked up by little kids? It was a truly scary thought.

Vate had finished with his watermelon, and set the rind on the table. He frowned as he noticed Nataya sitting by herself, with an infant. "I'll be right back." He said, "You can keep Lexie busy if you like." He offered, gesturing to the golden toddler. He headed over to Nattie, and poked her. "You okay?" He asked.
"Hi." Lexie said lamely. "I'm Lexie. You're Daddy's..." He couldn't find the right word for it. "Petfriend?" He asked.
"Sawed ooo 'fore." The infant insisted. "Was in 'igh 'ace. Ooo 'ig 'ere, dere ooo 'all." She explained to the best of her ability.
Josh frowned at the fae. "You'll teach me for free then?" He asked, with a raised eyebrow. "I can pay you--I will if you don't want to do it for free."
Miles merely nodded at his two friends. "I don't think she gets mad very often." He said. "Mom thinks she's just stuck in a baby's body--she's too smart to be a normal baby."

Stasia nodded, turning her attention to the little boy. "Hey there, Lexie." she said, smiling at the little guy. She blinked, then chuckled. "Well, I guess that is one way of putting it." She then held her hand out to the child. "My name's Stasia." she said, introducing herself.
Nataya, who had been dozing a bit, jolted up. "Wha?" she said, the word mumbled and barely intelligible. She took a second, letting what he said sink in. "Yeah, I'm fine." she said, smiling at her mother's pet boy, as 'Zuba had described him as.
Nataya's jolting startled and woke Koloro, which was a very bad thing. The little boy let out a startled wail, causing Nataya to flinch. Oh snap, scary guy right in front of them! He curled up into a little ball on the older girl's lap, hiding his face. Duck and cover!
Matthias listened to Ellie. What in heavens was she talking about? He was about to respond to Josh when an all-too-familiar wail sounded. "Please excuse me a moment." he said, heading over to see what had spooked his son.
Ginger looked a bit disappointed, but then smiled. "So you've got Einstein as a little sister? Sweet." she said, nodding and grinning. Yeah, that's what she got out of the boy's words.
"You mean something like reincarnation or something?" Zemel asked, tilting his head to the side. "Hm.....well, atleast she won't have as much of a hard time in school, right?"

Vate was relieved for a moment, and smiled at Nattie. "Glad you're okay." He said. That was before the baby started to cry. Instinctively, he tried to calm him. "It's okay, little guy." He said, with a weak smile. "I'm not going to hurt you.." He was failing.
Lexie took Stasia's hand, but he didn't know what to do with it. So he just held it. "Hi Stasia." He said. "You're still Daddy's Petfriend. Talks about you all the time." He explained.
Ellie would have continued talking to Matth, but at that moment, a loud scream started splitting her ear drums. She covered her ears with her tiny green hands, and made a 'if you don't shut up, I'll turn you into a...' face. She frowned at Matth, and tapped him as well as she could. "'Ake 'im 'top." She said, as clearly as she could. "P'ease."
Joshua was frowning. In his opinion, Matth had escaped. He would wait. He went to grab a turkey sandwich from the basket. He took a bite and watched the scene in front of him lazily.
"Nah, not Einstein." Miles said, shaking his head. "Mom thinks she was something... powerful. Like, maybe a witch, or a fairy, or an alien, or even a goddess. Mom says she's never met a green-skinned witch, and I don't think aliens are real, so I think she's either a fairy or a goddess--she sure acts like she's one. Bossy." He rolled his eyes.

Nataya smiled back, hugging her little cousin gently. She rubbed the baby's back, trying to calm him down. "He's just a bit startled." she explained to Vate, smiling slightly. She held the little deer close, hugging him gently.
Koloro sniffled, his crying accompanied by the occasional bleating sound. He looked up as his daddy approached, immediately reaching to be picked up. Daddy'd make the scary scariness go away!
Matthias carefully took his son from the little girl, doing his best to manage both babies, giving his son a gentle hug. He shot a look at Vate; not necessarily a hostile one, but one conveying his annoyance.
Koloro glanced at the other indant who was making a rather scary face. He sniffled, hiding his face away from scary green baby.
Stasia shook Lexie's hand slowly, showing him by example before letting go. "He does, does he?" she asked, curious. She noticed an odd sense of calm hit her like a brick wall. She didn't even feel like bugging Matthias, which was odd, even for her.
"The witch on the Wizard of Oz was green." Ginger pointed out, smiling. "Tell me, does your little sister threaten people and their little dogs, too?" Sad thing was, she was being completely serious.
Zemel almost face-palmed. "Maybe she's a fairy...? Mom has a picture book with green fairies in it; maybe she's one of those?" he suggested. Well, that was the best he could come up with.

"Well, I'm glad you're alright..." The elf started, and then saw Matth's look. Vate gave Matth a fearful glance, and hurried back to the table. He'd always had a fear of fae, especially when they were angry or annoyed. Scary!
Ellie stuck her tongue out at the other infant, and with a frown, tried to gain Matth's attention. "'On-ce I 'ig 'ike ooo." She stated, matter of factly. "On-ce, I 'urn peep-les to pwetties." She pointed to a flower to make her point.
Lexie smiled at Stasia, not knowing he'd released his calming thing again--he always seemed to do that when someone touched him. It was usually a good effect--especially when his father was mad at him. "He really does." He said. "Talks about you all day--he got you a ring, you know. All sparkly."
Miles shook his head. "Nah--she's never really threatened anyone." He said. "And she likes dogs--all animals really. Mom says she's what people call a tree hugger, too. But she doesn't hug trees.." He looked confused for a moment. "Maybe!" He said. "Maybe she's one of them!"
