A fearsome clan of samurai that live in the desert. They are as strong as a desert storm & as feared as the sting of the scorpion. Death before dishonor is the clan credo. They live by the sword & all hope for an honorable death by the sword.

Riding under the scorching desert sun was the samurai known only as Red. A name well earned for the blood of his enemies he soaked the desert sands in.

"It will be good to see my brothers of the sword again." He said to himself. "I have traveled far & now need to rest among friends again."

Suddenly without warning a giant scorpion sprang out of the ground.

"Whoa!" Red yelled to his horse. Grabbing his sword from its scabard he spurred his horse on to attack. "Hai!" He yelled. "It has been along time since I've seen one of these." Racing up alongside it the samurai jumped off the horse & landed on the back of the creature. Raising his katana in the air he struck. "Today evil thing you join your ancestors in death." Raming his sword into the creatures head it lurched forward & fell to the ground. Red jumped off it's back onto the ground. "Not a very strong one. Oh well at least I insured it wont grow to harm anyone." With that he resumed his journey back to his home.

Otaku the monk wittnessed this one sided battle from a distance. "Hmm. That samurai appears to be strong. He must be of the scorpion clan here in the desert. He very quickly killed that monster. I think I shall follow him."

Otaku followed the trail of the samurai warrior thru the desert. "He must be heading towards his village for he moves swiftly, but not like one heading to battle." He muttered to himself. "Perhaps once I catch up with him I will introduce myself."

Arriving back in his village Red went straight to the home of the clan leader. "No one seems to be here now. Perhaps later I can tell him of the creature I killed on my way back." He said aloud. "I will instead go to my home & rest from the long journey."

Otaku finally arrived on the outskirts of the samurais village. "He is easily tracked to his house. I would go & see what kind of man slays monsters with ease." The monk follows the trail of the warrior whos name he wishes to learn.
